Skyway soars at Scenic World

New $12 million cable attraction opened December 23.

The new attraction features many great technological advancements on its predecessor, building on the already stunning experience that could be had on the original, which closed in March of this year. The most notable feature of the Skyway is a unique glass floor system that causes the opaque floor to turn clear at the flick of a switch, revealing the rainforest canopy some 270m below the feet of riders.

With around three times the capacity of the original, this version will be of great value to Scenic World, which achieves the third highest attendance of all Australian tourist attractions.

Since 2000's addition of the Sceniscender, Scenic World have invested nearly $40 million, with the new Scenic Skyway only part of a $17 million upgrade that has been underway all year.
