  1. Nostalgia buffs should enjoy the following finds. If you have something I've missed I'll be more then happy to add it to this post. All These ads are pre- 2000's, so really give you a look back in time. Enjoy! Dreamworld

  2. I must admit... I wept a little watching the Dreamworld 1988 ad. Brought back so many memories as a little kid getting my first ride on Thunderbolt, the policeman checking my "license" on the Model T Fords, the barbershop quartet signing in Rivertown, the minecart... Those were the days. When we were too young to care about costs, companies, record breaking rides. We felt like we were walking right into a land that could only be created in our dreams. I had the old MW souvenir video that had a hidden message which you had to pause the tape at the right times throughout to piece it together. A friend and I also taped a whole Police Academy Stunt Show back in 2000 from two different sections of the audience and pieced it together. Wish I could find it and convert it to dvd.

  3. Hey guys, I had to join your community here at Parkz as I have been following this topic for a few months now as a guest and am really loving all of the back and forth. I am the lead designer of the Justice League: Alien Invasion 3D dark ride...! I'm the Senior Designer for Sally Corporation in Jacksonville, Florida. I was very impressed by some of you who guessed what the attraction would be early on...it was fun hearing everyone going back and forth with their ideas of what it could or should be (and still is fun!). Obviously I can't answer any questions or give you all any specific insight...I just wanted to poke my head in and say "Thanks!" for being fans of the project (and if your aren't a fan yet, hoping you will be once you ride the ride!). It is an amazing project, one of Sally's largest and most high profile to date. Hoping to see you all at the opening (specific date to be announced later)...if you see me, say "Hey"! -Rich Hill

  5. As with sea viper I'm sure seaworld have been told by council a while ago that there is a height limit which it passes but as the coaster is already there it isn't a problem but if they were to remove it the new coaster would have to comply to the height rules (which are a joke from the gold coast council). It's also been a reason that we haven't had any large rides installed. Ps I first heard about the height restrictions back when we had the temporary seaworld eye and they had to get special permission to have it there. So I'm glad sea viper was saved but I would love for seaworld to fight the council and maybe we can see an improved seaworld in the future

  6. Just to add to the previous discussion - I have from a very reliable source that persons associated with Viper's original manufacturer were called upon to inspect Viper's issues - and the conclusion was that it was not economically viable to repair. Apparently, Maintenance supported this decision, and wanted it removed as too costly to maintain. Management overruled this, and elected to have the repairs done, despite the overwhelming costs. No - my source is not a member of this forum, and no I won't reveal who they are - but yes, they are EXTREMELY reliable in all this. All I say is Kudos to management for investing in an icon, despite the economic advice to the contrary. See? not always just out there to save a buck make a buck....

  9. glad to see it's getting back to business. This is to be a key part of our wedding ceremony, so hopefully they've fixed these problems once and for all. Although - to say it's got 7 or 8 years left in it - it is getting on in years...
