  1. I think a walk through 'museum' type attraction is something the park should actually look into. But not in the toons building. Honestly I'd think somewhere as close to the entry of the park as possible, with displays of props from Movies as well as set mock ups from things that may have been filmed in the studios. It'd be quite cheap to build, cheap to maintain, and would give the non-riders something to do while the rest of their group goes on the big rides. As for the tunes building, I think 1 of two things should go in there: a collection of kiddie rides, or whatever the biggest, highest capacity family thrill ride (less intense than wwf, but a bit more adventitious than river ride) will fit in. Relaunch the area by replacing a few of the outdoor rides (starting with Speedy Taxies) and IMHO they'd be on a winner

  2. Re Age restrictions, it avoids the complications of minors 'needing permission' to enter competitions etc. They also probably want to filter out some of the "OMGGGG U GUYZZZZ NEEEED 2 GET A B&M COASTERRR" Re: African Safari World - I don't. I hope they ask meaningful questions about ideas they are actually considering that are viable. I hope they ask questions on concepts they want to make happen in the next few years, not a 'one day....' pipe dream. Personally, I hope they ask Mack to come and do the refurbishments on all of their attractions next year... since they've got such experience working in our climate, and most of our attractions are getting on in years...

  3. I know I'm a bit late but I just want to point out Looney Tunes have a new show on Cartoon Network so they're not forgotten, they are well known. After going to Movie World yesterday I realised only one ride I rode was not DC themed. I love all the DC rides but I still feel they should include some different themes. So Looney Tunes would be perfect right now! A walk through attraction is something used for things like Harry Potter and Narnia which has unique environments, Looney Tunes was always drawn with buildings exactly how you would see in real life. No real appeal to enter their world. A family ride is define telly necessary for that space because right now, Justice League is doing all the work.

  4. Alas I don't know. I reckon it'd be pretty awesome if you could convert the area above the emporium/ops office into a useable space, and have a ramp up there by the old upgrade booth, but I fear we'd be talking mega bucks to do that. Probably somewhere off the Superman plaza, so either in the heilix, or between Superman and studio admin might work though. I'm really not picturing anything to massive here, just a small building where people can wander around and have a look at real movie memorabilia, and small set mock ups. Anyone who has done the WB studio tour in LA might be able to picture what I'm seeing, as they have a museum as part of the tour. Oh, and I don't care if I'm a monster. Such a low capacity, low grade piece of crap attraction like speedy's doesn't deserve to exsist at a shopping center never mind a proper theme park. If kids want to drive, Taz's Hollywood cars still exsist. Honestly, I'd rather see Speedy's be turned into a shady expanse of benches, and see a new ride go into Rocket Ride's old location.

  5. Point is, there is a difference between something being appealing, versus being appealing long term. Are you going to keep going into an exibit with the regularity that you reride the parks other attractions? Museums always rotate their exhibitions because that's what the whole concept is about, and yes SW got Dinosaur island, but that's only sticking around for a year or so isn't it?

  7. I don't normally leave events early as I like to see everything and get my money's worth, but entry was essentially free with my Gold pass and I've been spoilt by DL and WDW parades. Unlike concerts and sporting events, theme parks offer multiple types of entertainment so naturally not everyone is going to watch or experience every different type.

  9. I've experienced a 3 hour journey at six flags... and that was just a queue house with little theming at all. Just because Disney and Universal can pull it off, doesn't make our parks 'poor' by comparison. Most parks around the world would be 'poor' by comparison to these two. I agree that a lot of the magic has gone out of the parks, but at the end of the day - they had to do this to survive. Although Gremlins and Bermuda and Looney Tunes were a great story with great magic, the general population wanted thrill rides - roller coasters and the like. In order to survive this is what the parks give them. It was too costly to maintain the nostalgic greats of yesteryear when the ridership was slowly dwindling into nothingness. Simplistic theming that is cheap to maintain is the way of the future for these parks. they cannot afford to spend so much on annual refurbs as they used to. As for the people in the park, if they capped the numbers lower than they do, they could not afford to offer the attractions that they do now. Would you rather all attractions ran on a 1 hour on, 1 hour off cycle to save on staff and running costs, but have less people in the park? No - because although there would be less people, there would be less rides to soak them up too. I'm with Alex on this one.
