In order to ensure the smooth and trouble-free interaction of the Parkz Forums, we have the following guidelines that we ask all members to understand and follow. These guidelines are in addition to the Terms & Conditions that all registered members have agreed to. General Etiquette A friendly and helpful attitude is expected at all times. You aren't expected to like everyone, but you are expected to treat all members with respect at all times. One-word or single phrase replies are not acceptable. You should put some thought into a response, even if the answer is straight forward, it doesn't hurt to elaborate. Gratuitous swearing or obscenities are not tolerated. We assume our members to be responsible adults and that they will chose their phrasing accordingly. Excessive swearing will be swiftly removed and repeat offenses will have further actions taken. Certain topics are not permitted to be discussed. This includes any sort of pornographic images and/or words, racial hate, illegal activities as well as a variety of other issues that would be deemed unsuitable for any reasonable person. Spelling, punctuation and grammar should be correct and proper at all times. Take the necessary time to properly form your posts, because if they are not up to standard they may be deleted. Many Browsers these days have built-in spell checkers so there is no excuse for not making the effort. Doxing -- the discussion of personal information, messages, posts or thoughts of any individual is not permitted. At no stage should you reveal or hint at personal information about another individual, whether a member of Parkz or not unless such information has been shared by the individual This includes anything sent via any direct or personal messaging system. Misrepresentation -- do not deliberately misquote or misrepresent another member, post or other source. Debate issues fairly and based on the merits of the argument. Do not misrepresent another member, This includes using FTFY or 'fixed that for you' misquotes. Deliberately misquoting another member, even for comedic effect is not allowed. Promotion Users may not create topics, posts for the purposes of advertising or promoting websites, brands, pages or channels. This is regardless of whether or not the website or content belongs to the user, or whether it is theme park related or not. Users are encouraged to share content from across the Internet for the purposes of stimulating discussion, but not for promotion's sake. Users may not create accounts, topics, or posts to advertise any company, product or service they are affiliated with. Sharing your content with the Parkz community Parkz is a website for discussing theme parks; the largest, longest running and most reputable in Australia. We actively encourage members to share photos etc. from their experiences, but we want to make sure it's done for the benefit of the community, not for the sake of page likes or website traffic. This site exists as an interactive community, not a space for free and unlimited promotion. By all means share content and be a part of our community. Parkz is the largest theme park website in Australia; your content will be seen by more eyes if posted in these forums than anywhere else. We reserve the right to alter, remove or edit any posts that don't comply with this policy. Posting photos Upload photos directly to Parkz. Don't hotlink to images on other sites (even if you own the site in question, or it's an image hosting site), because when the image link inevitably breaks, it breaks the content on these Forums. If you upload photos that don't belong to you, provide a line of credit. You are the copyright holder of any original content you post on Parkz, though by doing so you give us unrestricted rights to use that content on Parkz. Basically, they're your photos, but by posting them here you're allowing them to appear on Parkz. Watermarks on photos Trust us, no one is going to steal your crooked smartphone photo, but if you feel the urge to watermark your photos, please be considerate of your audience and restrict it to one corner in the top or bottom 10% of the image. Posting videos YouTube is the logical way to share video content. Embed the video directly into your post. Don't link to another website that embeds the video. Linking to off-site content Members can link to any relevant off-site content they want, provided they are unaffiliated with the website in question. If you have your own content that you want to share, share it with our community by posting or uploading it here, not just linking to it. We welcome any feedback or comments on this policy -- please direct this to either the Site Issues forum, or contact me directly.2 points

I was a theme park ride technician for 10 years and have found these type of rides are generally a very poor quality build I have often question the mechanical integrity of the rides & lap bar locking systems. In many cases the manufactures are contracting componentry to china and is of very poor quality and standard which keeps the purchase price lower and would suggest seat belts should be fitted to every ride in australia regardless of standard and quality of build. The seat belts can be retro fitted and engineered into the ride at a price , but what price do we put on a human life for the sake of a seat belt that may have prevented a death. I have found with lap bar locking systems there are usually 2 or more devices that lock to ensure in some saftey factors, I have also seen both of these fail but not at one time, again cheaply made rubbish I dont trust them. I have also had experience with the government agencies they send people out to inspect rides with little experience the whole industry needs a complete overhaul. Although dreamworld and warners I have no issues with as they do maintain high saftey standards as I have had back of house maintenance tours.1 point

For anyone who is stating that these rides are unsafe etc, take a moment to think about this... You are in MUCH more danger of being in an accident on the way to a carnival or show than you are on any of the rides. Whilst the exact cause is unknown, it's likely a FREAK accident. Yes it's unfortunate that this has happened, but i'd honestly trust my life and any of my friends lives on these attractions. Do you honestly think the owners of these rides spend over a million dollars importing these world class attractions and are going to risk their livelihood along with their families (and any other people riding these attractions) by not maintaining them. These rides are subject to some of the most in depth testing and inspections in the world before being signed off to operate at any of the shows in Australia. I have 100% faith in each of these rides, and the operators of them that if something WAS found to be wrong at these inspections that they would refuse to operate the ride until the proper fixes have been implemented. Yes they would lose money but it's not worth the risk to put it simply. having worked in the amusement industry and carnival industry for many years myself I can promise you that the staff at theme parks and carnivals take height restrictions VERY seriously no matter what. However if it's a really busy period of time, sadly if people are in a big group a person can slip through the cracks. These attractions are as safe, if not safer than our attractions at the theme parks. When you think about it, these rides are dismantled almost on a weekly basis so components are checked more frequently than the theme park versions. The staff operating them know the ride inside and out and not just from an operational standpoint. It is a tragic accident either way, and it's best not to speculate on what has caused the incident out of respect for the families and the staff / owners of the AirMaxx 360. My thoughts and prayers do go out to the family and friends of the young girl involved, and to the operators and the owner of this ride who I am sure are as hurt and devastated that this accident happened especially considering the ride is just over a year old.1 point
