  1. Okay, but what about a nice B&M?

  2. Initially RCDB confirmed the Zamperla ride -- Duane is pretty good when it comes to reliable sources and rarely gets it wrong. Generally we don't spread information like this until we have either official confirmation or visual confirmation like construction photos -- if you're familiar with the Zamperla's simplistic layout you can piece it together from the rebar footing locations in the photos posted above. If you're hoping I'm wrong for the sake of a better ride, do keep in mind that the park is referring to it as a mini roller coaster; if the park is talking it down, you know it's not going to be significant.

  3. Thrillseeker. It has now been trailerised and is Australia's largest mobile coaster called the Taipan. Now getting back to B&M's.......

  4. This may have been answered many moons ago, but does anyone know where any of the rides from Australias Wonderland ended up. I heard that the Demon ended up in some Park in Asia somewhere. I assume a lot were just dismantled including Bush Beast and Beastie. What about the trains from those two rides, would they end up in the dump or some blokes back yard shed on a farm somewhere. One of my favourites was the Pirate ship (Bountys Revenge I think it might have been called), someone tell me that some of the rides were relocated rather than just left to rot in a dump somewhere.

  5. Same here. One of my favourite myths and legends of all time. As for the coaster, I believe you're thinking of the Wild Wave / Thrillseeker. It was a Galaxi model and was located I believe where Ray Reef is currently. Please correct me if I am wrong.

  6. The Bermuda triangle ride made me so obsessed with the story and theories behind Bermuda triangle in real life. Speaking of coasters can someone tell me what the name of the rollercoaster on the other side of the park was? Near where the polar bears are now. I've been trying to think of it and for the life of me I can't

  7. That's a pretty disappointing looking coaster if that's what it's going to be. My 6 year old would call it a 'baby ride', it looks more suitable for preschoolers than families.

  8. It's probably safe to assume that the causes of the incident have been determined -- from all the blurry photos and footage from the day of the incident it's reasonably clear that bolts have either worked loose or failed. I'm sure officials had the cause figured out very quickly. Were it maintenance and nothing else I'd say we'd have seen the ride reopen by now. I'm inclined to think it's a design issue, which means there's a lengthy process of designing, testing and fabricating new parts -- which could be as simple as replacement bolts, right up to completely rebuilt or brand new cars. Not to mention there's likely legal and insurance discussions taking place as blame/responsibility is assigned.

  9. Is "Velikoluksky Meat-Packing Plant" the sponsor perhaps? I always snickered at Rita Queen of Speed (now changed) at Alton Towers, she sounds like the local meth dealer, or a right tart if you're riding her. That goes for all coasters with a girls name "I'm riding" Rita, Regina...

  10. Hahaha yeah I'm slightly addicted. I love theme parks! You wouldn't think I work 30+ hour weeks in between, would you ??? I spend most of my days off at them. I admit Movieworld has grown on me again too, since renewing our VIP passes. Usually we tend to avoid the parks on weekends since they are fairly hectic (yesterday was no exception, 30-45 min waits for most rides, inc. the kiddy ones :/) but I had a friend and her family visiting from out of town, so we put our "bring a friend for free" passes to good use lol We spotted the new activity on the Green Lantern from the car park on the way out.

  11. Basically, the virtue of a Volare being compact is its greatest drawback. The turns on the ride are quite tight and violent, which doesn't work in the flying position because you are basically held in a fibreglass sandwich toaster. Other flying coasters tend to have sweeping turns, and rather ergonomic cars with soft harnesses, which as a whole makes for an enjoyable experience. The Volare is the opposite.

  12. I think it matches Sea Worlds aquatic theme just as well as Bermuda Triangle did, and just as well as the mythical Creatures of the Deep do. It is a theme park after all.

  13. Richard's confirmation'll do. I know it's not that often it happens - but is there some sort of forum tag (like the community leader tags) that can formally attach to a 'official park' account - kind of like a 'verified tick' on facebook? Glad to have Jamberoo officially on the boards. Apart from Wonderland, it was my other home away from home on weekends during season. Lost count of toboggan laps I did back in the day...

  14. Please let's try and be a bit respectful and welcoming of new members. I can confirm that this is a representative of the park. Considering the information provided why not just accept it at face value and start a discussion about what it might entail?

  15. Hi everyone, just thought I'd officially update happenings here at Jamberoo Action Park, NSW's favourite water theme park. As known we've completed Stage 1 of the 4 stage master-plan known as Kangaroo Island. This staged development will, once fully realised, incorporate 7/8 world class rides and attractions with a capacity to accommodate between 4500-5000 persons an hour. When fully completed the Kangaroo Island section of the park will have cost us around $60M, with stage 1 costing us $15M in 2012. We are still very committed to realising the entire project in the coming years and look forward to offering the NSW water theme park going public with some of the best world class rides available at that time. So to wet any appetite we are announcing here, for the first time, some really exciting news... Stage 2 of the Master-plan, incorporating 2 new world class rides and attractions, is well progressed in both design and development AND because new ride technologies available we will be NOT be incorporating a Behemoth Bowl BUT will be building a whole new ride to rival FUNNEL WEB, that will be more exhilarating ride experience, as well slightly longer in ride time... I cant say much more at this time however, I've seen the new "Top Secret" ride design and believe me it is going to be amazing! There is no firm date on commencement of construction of stage 2 at this time. Cheers for now, Sammy
