  1. I'm going to offer my two cents here for what it's worth and if we're being brutally honest, nothing has been as internationally defining or as iconic (thrill ride wise) as the Dreamworld Tower. Buzzsaw is certainly a local landmark through sheer presence alone, but it holds no weight against other great coasters of the world beyond being a one trick pony that's been repeated in several other parks around the world. In my eyes, it's essentially a modern Boomerang. It's not a bad ride by any stretch, it's a great bit of fun what with the whole "being upside down so high up with just a lap bar" element of things, but it's also no Superman Escape either. And therein lies where Dreamworld should move next. I don't need a magic ball to guess that Movie World will likely create something big in the next year or two and Dreamworld will need to really plug the coaster hole it has to be able to go up against Village as a whole. If I were Craig Davidson, i'd pick from two coaster types: 1) RMC Wooden Hybrid. Why? Nostalgia. Everyone's been on the Bush Beast at least once in their life. Adding a modern twist (inversions, steel track and even a launch) would not only peak local and interstate interest, but it'd put the whole park back on the world map as a place with an interesting, worthwhile coaster. Throw it in Blue Lagoon, and you've got amenities, facilities, and a stage for the ride to be built into ready to go. 2) Launched inverter coaster. Take your manufacturer's pick. Gerstlauer, Intamin or Mack. It just needs to look like Superman, talk like Superman, but pick up where Superman leaves off and roll a few inversions into the mix. It's a gimmicky tactic, but it's a marketable strategy where the general public can get behind it and go "Dreamworld's new one is like Movie World's one but it goes UPSIDE DOWN!" Think some kind of crazy Intamin Mega Lite, lap bars, the whole shebang. Ultimately they don't need another one trick pony, the park is full to the brim now of them. They need a Thunderbolt successor. Iconic, impressive, long and unlike Thunderbolt, actually enjoyable to re-ride.

  2. Tone down the language. That's MA15+ talk and you're not there yet.

  3. So two things... Firstly I nearly tuned out at the point you named dropped, that's a bit sad. Then you said you wouldn't spoil it for anyone but told everyone it was in the kids zone, you got groped and that someone was singing like a virgin. Thats after you have away half the maze contents also. Perhaps do a bit better with your spoiler alert next time hey.

  4. Haha, maybe you could cut her some slack because you're a theme park enthusiast yourself!

  5. Those screens are part of the two secret rooms within the two hero mazes. This is accessible only buy Terror Tour guest. The Scare actors have no directions from anyone besides the cast briefing at the start of the night. The screens show four areas that the guests can trigger certain effects to scare the maze goers.

  6. I checked out their site - not sure i'm too keen on having a steel-only lap bar slammed into my family jewels repeatedly over a 60 second plus period of time.

  8. Had my opening bat at AW today. I can only reiterate what other contributors have said re it looking better. My kids insisted we were first in, last out so the full 7 hours were put in. Even though it was 30c with a warm breeze. Here are a handful of some photos.

  9. It could happen tomorrow anywhere! If employees don't follow the established safety procedures then accidents can and will happen. The park can't do anything to FORCE it's employees to do the right thing anymore than an airline can FORCE pilots not to intentionally crash planes.

  10. Great photos, thanks for sharing. The Freefall should be back in operation in a few weeks time. Unfortunately we were badly let down by the supplier of new shock absorbers from Germany which were due to arrive mid July and just turned up last week after months of chasing. We are having a slight "speed bump" with Mi2 but hope to have this resolved in the next week to two weeks. We are certainly working hard on the glitch. I have tested it and I can report its pretty cool. The new website is also a few weeks behind schedule but we should have changed the existing website in any case so thanks for pointing out.
