  1. Thanks for this review. I think the points you've made are entirely legitimate and reasonable. The park's operations truly have been a disaster from day one. It should have been such a success story, and I, like many others on here, wanted it to be. But the management decisions all the way along have been abysmal to say the least. I totally agree about the park being sparse - it feels like the Maloney's Corner of waterparks. They sent me a survey asking why I hadn't renewed my annual pass, and the complete lack of atmosphere/landscaping/theming was one of the reasons I put down. Then there are all the other operational issues, some you referred to, such as ridiculous operating hours and practically zero public transport. And yes, on a busy day, it is horrendous. You spend all day standing on the stairs and end up with very little left to talk to your friends about.

  2. The issue seems to be value proposition. The punters know good and well that they are captive audience, and they also know that there's nothing in and of the parks themselves that should rightfully demand a premium for what is by and large very ordinary food other than profiteering. These are businesses, and people get that there are profits to be made. People don't mind paying low prices for low-grade fast food. People do mind paying premium prices for low-grade fast food. They will inevitably (and fairly) compare the prices they are seeing with what they consider to be comparable items on the street and rightly come to the realisation that it's a rip. That's why people will often seek out chain brands in a theme park - they are dealing with a known-quantity in the menu, the food standard, and what should be the pricing. Customers usually resent being bent over.

  3. That's completely wrong dude. Wrong trees & land. The exit to the motorway is nowhere near there at all. I live just around the corner, so an well aware of the associated road changes for the town centre. How you came to the conclusion of them clearing a few hectares a kilometre down Foxwell Rd is for the motorway astounds me QIC have actually recently applied to alter the DA to a 2 stage development. Was originally all to be built in one go but not will be over 2 stages

  4. am I the only one who thinks if Dreamworld rethemed the Cyclone to Mario Kart instead of Hot Wheels would be much better choice? It would get a lot of Nintendo fans in Australia to purchase an annual pass, I'm really hoping to God that Dreamworld surpises us in 17 days time with this refurbishment..

  5. $20 for restaurant standard food is completely reasonable especially in a theme park. Think some of your have been eating a chain outlets too much and are not in touch with modern day dining prices.

  6. Tbh you seem like an arrogant jerk. You come to a theme park enthusiasts forum, and expect to be able to post whatever you like with questioning, and then meet any questioning with contempt. we don't know you, and you don't know us, as you've just shown up - that changes through communication. Saying 'those truely in the know have no difficulty getting in touch with me' is just a Tosser of a thing to say, Do you understand the Australian culture and way of life? Might be an idea before you open a theme park here. being a jerk to people who make up a large part of your target market and are generally influencers in the community isn't going to help your cause. I suggest you walk out the door and then come back in with a different attitude and you'll find others will change there's towards you too
