  1. Hi Ocean Girl based on 4/5 star reviews as a % of reviews AW was pipping DW last week. Sadly due to our huge queues last week and severe heat we got pegged back a little and ended up just behind DW. If you take the period of AW's season last year and compare with DW and the other big Parks, AW scored highest with 85% of reviews being either 4 or 5 star. A lot of TA's ratings confuse us and we have challenged them before, many times without success (seems when we speak to an Australian TA manager they tell us that all that stuff is regulated in the USA to algorithms not shared and they don't have any sway because the company now is just so big) Hope that helps. ps. no disrespect to some of the Parks listed here either but we have hardly heard of many of them including the no 2 and 3 listed Park here so something is clearly out of whack.

  3. Hot Wheels sets seem to generally feature orange track and dark blue supports. I suspect it was debated, with yellow and light blue is basically the same thing winning the argument for a relatively low-budget project at a park that has historically favoured economy over aesthetic. The ride's paint has held up remarkably well over 15 years; you only need to look at how Superman Escape had faded or how Thunderbolt was looking after a similar length of time between paint jobs. The real puzzling thing is that though it might not have needed the work done right now, but moving inevitable maintenance work forward a few years could have really made the transition far more noteworth, and the new theme far more recognisable.

  4. In my honest opinion, I don't think changing the track would do much difference to help make the ride look more visually appealing. Each individual car is a different bright colour, which makes it very hard to have a cohesive colour scheme. If they have a colour scheme based on the red lead car, while it would match the green car, all the others would still clash. Same goes for all the other cars as well. The best possible scenario would be going for a white or silver colour scheme for the track, but even then I don't think it'll be perfect. Actually, I think that summarises the Cyclone/Sidewinder pretty well; it will never be perfect and we're always going to find fault.

  5. This has been discussed before, as well as the fact that it would be very hard and costly to achieve a full repaint.

  6. He also said something was happening inside Eureka, whilst also saying nothing will happen with Eureka. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

  7. Kevil Hill was only closed in off-peak periods, and I'm pretty sure the reason they closed it is because during those times it's too hard to get the minimum 10-person per game requirement during those times.

  8. depends... could be a really shitty refurbishment... or perhaps that was just to fund the cost of installing an extra 'Andrew-proof' upper door panel on the exit gate #expensivedoors.

  9. After a bit of rehashing through this thread, I am convinced AndrewH aka Xenon is a troll... he can't even seem to keep up with all the blatant contradictions posted between the two accounts he has been using on this forum between last year and today. The dates of the posts speak for themselves. June-Sept 2015 Today....

  10. My intention wasn't trying to say that this whole scenario of Eureka being refurbished is impossible or unlikely, but rather trying to get some form of evidence to help me believe djrappa's original statement. Someone claiming that some of the park's representatives were wrong on a relatively secret matter is a little bit hard to take without any sort of corroboration. However, djrappa's has been pretty reliable and I believe his statement, at least more so than some other members.

  13. That's the great thing about sarcasm. You can choose to ignore it at will or acknowledge its existence. Maybe the posters are now sitting and laughing at taking the piss out of the mods?

  14. Am I the only person who thinks that the colours of the train doesn't look good with the track? Nevertheless, great photos!

  15. Don't think we've ever had such a great response out of making fun of a bunch of posters
