  1. Long time lurker here. Word from staff in the park is that "...Boot Hill is moving to the back of the Show Stage on the hill near Wild West Falls"

  2. River Rapids given a more cohesive and relevant story / experience and opened for the entire day. Mine Ride replaced with a more interesting and up to date wild mouse coaster. Small spontaneous shows throughout the year instead of just during school holidays. Bring back the bushranger outfits for Kenny and Belinda so thy can hang around that area for photo ops during the day. Give staff working Rapids a refresher course on addition and counting to 6 to help ease long waits for the ride.

  3. Should have typed it all in caps so they knew he was serious about getting the info. I mean if he's making the effort to hold down the shift key, they can make the effort to give him the answer.

  5. One small thing, i've always thought it was a waste that they haven't done anything with Thunder River Rapid's reservoir during the day. For them to add a couple of water canons that fire off periodically or even just a few fountains to give people something to look at (plus some ambience) would be a great little addition to liven up the space. Mine Ride's a given. As a long term strategy for the park, moving out towards Blue Lagoon is going to eventually happen (I think it's the perfect spot for a major attraction to be built in the future) and replacing the now defunct chairlift station with an attraction that's group focussed, fun, and helps to extend the crowds out into that corner of the park would be ideal. Something like Intamin's Drunken Barrels (http://www.intaminworldwide.com/amusement/RoundRides/Drunken+Barrels/tabid/141/ProductNumber/Drunken+Barrels/language/de-DE/Default.aspx) would fit the theme perfectly, matched with a small show stage, a food & bev outlet etc. it'd bring life to that corner of the park again.

  6. The Sunlander train was in fact worked by steam locomotives between Innisfail and Cairns in the early days. The other "Lander trains, Inlander, Midlander, Westlander were all worked by steam until quite late in the piece. In mid-1960s the Midlander was worked by diesel to Emerald then a succession of Beyer Garratt, C17 and AC16 engines to its terminus at Winton.

  7. I have a real passion for steam locomotives and for me, as well as most people, the removal of the steamers from Dreamworld was a real blow. The replacement diesel is a grotesque caricature of a steam engine, totally devoid of charm - a first cousin of the little rubber-tyred trains you sometimes see pottering around a shopping centre or at some event.. Yes, little kiddies may like it, but they do not know of better things. It is my opinion that the diesel has not lived up to expectations and is causing a deal of concern. We are lucky however that management did not dispose of both engines, and now the Baldwin will see the light of day again. It will be 100 years old next year - and long may it continue. With the change of heart by management now, perhaps they regret giving the Perry away. If both engines were available the train ride could be re-established as the major attraction as it was in the early 1980s.

  8. I personally think Green Lantern was a good replacement for the empty spot of land.

  9. Because it's only my idea and nobody has really given any merit lately to there being different developments, so I'll keep it to myself for a bit and see what's happening. It's interesting to note that opinions have changed considerably since news of attractions was posted. Much more discussion previously about what could be utilised that wasn't a coaster, but now everyone seems to be coaster mad. if that isn't interesting for you, the development applications and their wording in particular might be. 17/11/15 - Rollercoaster 30/11/15 - New attraction and lakeside precinct, stage 1 early works. 30/11/15 - stage 1 early works, ent precinct. 03/12/15 - Hotel, stage 1 early works. 13/1/16 - demolition works new attraction To me, it sounds like maybe we have a lot in planning that some people have kind of lumped in together. Coaster is submitted as a seperate application to the new attraction? Lakeside precinct and entertainment precinct look like they could be separate entities? Different parts of the park? hotel is also listed by itself. This could mean we actually have a few different zones in planning, but there also could be 2 rides being developed. 1 just listed as an attraction, one as a coaster. Because they are private listings we aren't going to see what was submitted, so it's all just speculation. But it is interesting none the less if you take it to mean the same way I do. I keep going back to what sort of ride could be erected quickly and cheaply (in comparison) in such a compact space with the demotion works already taking place? Sounds like a flat ride is a good idea at this point in time. If we start seeing central foundations being poured, ill know my idea for the area is pretty on the money.

  10. I've got a pretty good idea what flat ride is relatively new and to date, I don't think has ever been a permanent install in a park in the world. It would tick the marketing boxes of being a world first, world best, etc, and probably fit the budget guessing at the cost. Ill keep it to myself for awhile and see what happens with the site though unless someone wants to do a little digging to see what might fit the bill. Still not feeling the coaster idea at this point in time. Really think it's something planned for the near future, not necessarily going in this part of the park or at this point in time.
