  1. "Churro World", it's going to be a complete re-theme of the park. The new tag line: "Mexico on the Gold Coast". Ariba ariba...

  2. I definitely think they need less DC & more churro themed rides..

  5. WTF would they be doing Demo in western town if they were putting in a tower ride in the middle of Superman? Honestly sometimes I wonder about what I read here. Giving they painted half of Superman last year, wouldn't it be safe to assume Superman was going down for paint?

  7. its great that its not a another roller coaster but lets hope its a new section of the park with a new theme that has nothing to do with the dc universe

  8. Not a guess at the actual ride but just something cool - Someone posted this the other night - but this would have been pretty cool to have in keeping with the western theme. http://www.intaminworldwide.com/amusement/RoundRides/Drunken+Barrels/tabid/141/ProductNumber/Drunken+Barrels/language/de-DE/Default.aspx

  10. I think you looked over a portion of my post... I pretty much stated that while it may have had a lot of its total passengers being classified as tourists, it still wasn't enough to justify it running even more. At least it seemed to have a better lifespan than those monorails in Brockway, Ogdenville and North Harverbrook ...

  11. The Sydney one would have been great, not a novelty at all except it didn't go anywhere useful. If it had linked Darling Habour with other high traffic locations it would have had ridership.

  12. They could get the designers of JDS back in to do another Mini-Movie World, and a dreamworld, Sea World and WnW... since they're all on teh gold coast...

  13. I'd be fine if Movie World added that. I'll assume the storyline is that we're saving this churro from that big purple guy who totally isn't related to a DC property or anything.. wait... maybe the western town is transforming into a new carnival area where there will be twenty churro themed B&M's.

  14. That is a ton of land for the Tiger Island Renovation, I wonder if they plan to use all that land for the Tigers or if the current site will be left partially vacant. Either way, good move, the Tigers have been a massive win for Dreamworld from the start. It'll be good to have a proper set up for their shows rather than the current set up which was never really designed with shows in mind, and more room for the animals is always a good thing.

  15. That makes sense if they are doing this ride. And would look better in the park, raher than 2 tower rides right next to each other.

  16. Not to Hammer the point home, but it's not a dark ride. I keep saying it, but I look forward to the collective 'eh?' when it's announced, about the best thing that can be said for it is it does give the park some much needed filler.

  17. Look at the guys vest. That builder built polar bear shores at SW and built GL. I don't think it is this ride but why could it not be moved to this location. Picture was of original concept only.

  21. Yeah, it's negative. I'm a big fan of monorails, but I've seen how easy it's been for parks to erase them at very little cost. At Jurong, the bird park's panorail lost its Cathay Pacific sponsorship and was erased from history within two years, pillars and all. Now, I want to be all positive and hope that SW is going to change its form and not eradicate the monorail like it's currently doing to the Skyway. Maybe they'll soldier on for another couple of years and replace it with a small Hitachi model, like the current Sentosa Express.

  22. Just thinking about it, that room would would be really cool to hire out as a room for birthday parties. You could even get private visits from characters in there.

  26. I'd be very interested to see what the cost would be to get new rolling stock. Give Bombardar or Intamin a call, it'd cost a bit, but there are a few other von roll systems nearing the end of their lives, perhaps other owners might go in on the r&d costs. I think given the importance of the monorail to the park in terms of transportation and as a link to the resort I think it'd be worth spending quite a lot of money, particularly since it's of the few remaining true family rides left in the park. Two trains running reliably at speed should be the goal.
