  1. Not everything needs to be a big thriller. Hot day in summer the log ride will be busy. My he view of its old and not a thrill ride so should go is a stupid one IMO

  2. I've followed Silvarret for ages. Usually, in RCT3, he works with colossal amounts of custom scenery, but watching this series, it's absolutely mind boggling what he can do with the limited amount of stuff available in the PC alpha.

  3. This guy gets it. This and the River Rapids have some of the longest waits in the park during Summer. If anything i'd like for the park to give the ride just a little more love. It's not hard to add a little bit of ominous Banjo music as you stroll on by, and having been on Rainbow's End's log flume just recently, i'm convinced that if a smaller, regional park can do something quite genuinely surprising and entertaining for at the very least the kids riding then Dreamworld definitely can.

  4. I'll be back on Saturday to do some photography for the night event. I'll probably go in early and get so e daytime shots of a lot of the park too.

  5. I don't think the Log Ride needs removal; it just needs a refurbishment. I hardly ride it anymore just because it doesn't hold my interest like many other rides (such as Wild West Falls). Now, I'm not trying to insinuate that it needs a steeper drop and backwards elements, but I just think that if they put some thought into how to make every single millimetre of the ride an entertaining experience then they'll be onto a winner.

  6. Assume they have updated the site, it was definitely there yesterday afternoon. Ride will probably reopen, no doubt to further media attention every time a car stops on the brake run.

  7. This has been discussed AT LENGTH and it's widely assumed the later maintenance is for painting.

  8. You don't just get rid of a ride because it's old...

  9. The typical pay to progress faster method of free to play at work here it seems. I don't mind the game. Good way to kill a bit of time.

  10. This is my favourite part so far. I'm quite surprised in all her (obvious) research and information gathering that nothing was said about the court rulings specifically stating "piss off, the park was there first, Nyah Nyah Nyah!" Sounds like a wonderfully perfect trip to the park (sans mouse). I love reading Megan's TR's!

  11. the gameplay looks good. Not sure if its intentional, but after a little while, all of the "missions" take an hour or more - it's a good excuse to put the device down and do something else for a while. So far, the best part about it is their use of music. Worst part is the lack of guidance between the story and the mission - ie: "cheer up pete" in the story, somehow translates to "make pete a sandwich"

  12. Wrong. It's actually completely savable.

  13. First good looping coaster ? Yeah first triple loop roller coaster was their claim to fame with Corkscrew. I've never really thought about it, but given Thunderbolt was a double loop coaster and it opened a year or so earlier, it suddenly makes a ton of sense why they would have made going upside down 3 times such a big part of their promotion of Corkscrew. Thunderbolt was pretty ordinary, but it's hard to imagine how just how enticing it looked from the highway. Another thing it had going for it, is that it was a long ride, so it just looked like a massive, imposing, heap of track, particularly back in the days before there was anything else to really look at on the M1. 100% Gold Coast icon, up there with Grundy's, the image of the Corkscrew going under the monorail track, Lorikeets and the chairlift in Miami.

  15. Lol normally I wouldn't comment but that 7 story is hilarious!! Firstly in the opening shot the ride can be seen cycling in the background Then they say it's due to low air compression (wow good use of terminology there). Then you have the comment about 'industry insiders'. Notice they didn't say experts! So that's probably some 15 year old kid with a website. A park doesn't even give an opening time for an attraction on the same day, so why would they say when it will re-open. If it's an air leak, it probably needs a part which they obviously need to arrive and then install. Sooooo minor, remember air is used to OPEN not close breaks. Such a funny story of drivel to watch

  16. Bloody hell, you'd think they could at least be impressed we have levitating coasters.

  17. Yeah. How dare it be overzealous with its safety mechanisms and try to protect people's lives too much!

  18. Soooo.... the problem is that the ride's failure is causing it to be safe? Scary!
