That rumour that the log ride was closing went crazy viral, I saw it pop up at least 5 times in my newsfeed, and posted by friends who aren't into theme parks. They're not going to think 'Better check the website', they'll see something in the news and just believe it, which is why the message at the start of the week had a call to arms to share the post so people who don't follow us might have a chance to see the update.
People who didn't share or like that post might share or like an article, and unusually it felt like a community service announcement to try and get the word out there that what people had read was wrong. Judging from the attention those posts recieved it's hard to argue against it, those posts got significantly more attention than a full Parkz Update, and that's without any of the usual headline tactics of doin an article called 'Is Dreamworld's log ride closed forever?'
Even though to people on the forums it was pretty obvious what the outcome would be, we felt it was our duty to let the world know what the situation was without hyperbole, that's what the Facebook posts were for, and that's why this article exists.
