I don't understand why people are complaining about content. We've never had such comprehensive coverage of a new attraction before. Every member's contribution has been fantastic and is very much appreciated by 99% of us.8 points

The only thing more boring than seeing so many photos of the same thing is reading the same snarky comments. Thanks for contributing everyone! Keep the photos coming.8 points

Just a tiny detail that I noticed today that I should have noticed when it first went up. The Daily Planet and Luthorcorp.5 points

Somewhere in the world, an alarm just went off in Push's study that a hot word has been detected in the forums...3 points

Magician, I think you need to remember the knowledge and experience of some members may trump your opinion here. At Movie World, you can get a carpark that is less than 60 metres from the front gate. At Magic Mountain, it's that distance just from the metal detector to the gate... and its a hell of a lot longer to the parking lot. Good luck getting parking anywhere near that outside of a Disney park. The fact of the matter is that the carpark is very close to the park's eastern border. They can't build west, because of residential. They can't go north because of the creek and housing, South is studios, etc. East is the only direction they have broad control over - and if you want to build more - you need land close to the park. The parking lot is close to the park, so thats what they'll use. Of course, council will most likely impose conditions on them that if they resume x number of parking spaces, they'll need to build another x number. So they're not getting rid of parking spaces, they're relocating them.3 points

I love having more photos! Every photo I notice something new, keep them coming.3 points

I LOVE the updates - regardless of how overdone certain angles are if not much has changed. In saying that, I love the idea @reanimated35 had about separate topics. Perhaps we could have a sub-category for TP updates and link to them in this master thread?3 points

It was very odd seeing this today, especially during school holidays, not to mention it was taken just after 12:30.2 points

Just going to get the rest of my shots up before @JaggedJanine @Theme Park Girl or @pin142 get theirs up If you want higher detail on any particular area, let me know - 99% these images are all resized to 26% of their full size. I'm hoping they put some sort of facade up here to block this view, but I'm sure they'll do something. Close-up shot of the 'roof' over what might be part of the queue, next to the control booth. This I'm guessing is going to become a broken billboard. Seems as though what we're looking at here will be the back of it due to the support beams.2 points

Yes as AlexB mentioned. If you're expecting the park to have an entertainment predict, hotel, etc literally the only place they could build these in where the current car park is.2 points

If halloween horror nights has it , Movie world should do it this year!2 points

I don't get it, people complain when there aren't enough updates, and complain when stuff looks the same for a while and photos look to similar to what we've already seen. If you see a new photo and it looks the same as last week, you don't have to complain, just take it as an update that things haven't changed on the ground?2 points

Well this wouldn't be an enthusiast forum without everyone finding problems with an artistic rendering of a proposed carpark would it1 point

Not a problem @UpperCoomera - all in good humor. Side note - I don't have any issue with Bladex either. Just thought it was better than 'you're stupid it wasn't me it was someone else"1 point

Whilst I realise its a much greater expense to go multideck (plus the locals probably wouldn't like it) but i really think its a missed opportunity here to go upwards before the rest of the land is developed. I also foresee a chokepoint coming out of the carpark, turning left onto Kopps road to head towards the highway ramps. I agree with what was mentioned earlier about a second carpark being needed down near Wet N Wild. I think they'd do very well to then install a mass-transit system to travel between the attractions - a monorail perhaps, although shuttle buses would probably be cheaper and easier.1 point

Do you mean like the current car park that has one entry point and no dedicated pedestrian paths? lol1 point

Wouldn't it be cool if they had a large Doomsday Destroyer figure above the twisted or broken metal, a bit like the Rampage character at Adventure World.1 point

Even Andrew had the sensibility to go into a SBNO coaster instead of an operating one that could hit you at high speed... oh well if there are reports on the news tonight of people being struck by a HWSW train I won't be feeling sorry for them.1 point

just saw two teenagers doing an AndrewH once they got off Hot Wheels SideWinder, they jumped over a gate then soon as you know it they were running across this section just as I pulled out my phone to take a picture of what I just saw the twats were no where to be seen..1 point

I would love to see the Conjuring 2, Insidious, The Purge, Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Halloween as a maze!1 point

Agree on that reanimated. I feel like the mask/headpiece they use lacks detail. I'm sure it can be improved. Still believe Scream would be a strong, and popular, maze choice1 point

Why not a tunnel? Look at Knott's, they've done it. Obviously Movie World's carpark will disappear with all they have planned. This carpark idea makes perfect sense!1 point
-
Yeah that's the spot. It makes a ton more sense when you consider that some of the existing carpark will probably be used up with the new developments. I think the Childcare worker is talking out her backside. Bigger poctureI can't imagine that 100s of new jobs in the area would be bad for business.1 point

Almost typed this exact thought when I saw that earlier. I would be happy with a "no further progress to show at this time" post than multiple photos showing that fact...1 point

Maybe it would, but that doesn't mean you or anyone else needs to complain when someone goes to the effort of posting a photo.1 point

Must be the VIP parking lot... Maybe Thor drives a ute when he isn't hammer-soaring1 point

down at Park right now, a few workmen have just entered the control booth, the rest of them are working on the facades, will report if I see testing occur UPDATE 1: look what's going up! just recorded a video and it's currently being uploaded on to YouTube UPDATE 2: the ride just went through another test run this time completely going upside down1 point

Managed to pop into Lake Dolores Waterpark on my last trip. As most people are aware there isn't much left of it, just holes in the ground and buildings degrading. No pictures though, felt sketchy enough being in there let alone spending time and snapping pics. @Theme Park Girl My partner and I were lucky on our visit to Knotts and bumped into Adam at the front gates waiting for it to open. He was nice enough to do a quick ride on Sierra Sidewinder with us. Check out The Proper People on youtube as well. They've done Six Flags, but they explore a lot of abandoned places and the production level of their video's is pretty cool.1 point

How awesome would it be! I love looking at them as well. Check out the 'Adam The Woo' channel on YT, he has lots of uploads of abandoned places walkthroughs, including numerous theme parks. Six Flags New Orleans has been one I've followed closely. It seems they use it a lot these days as a movie set location Abandoned Theme Parks: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL047A057E91EFDA701 point

I visited my first when I was 14. My second didn't come until I was 27. I then revisited the first park when I was 31, and the second park again when I was 33, both with my wife for her first experience of both parks. The tricky decision for us now has been to determine which park first? what age? what order? Do we want him to experience California first - Walt's only completed park? Or Orlando, being one neither of us have been to, but certainly the biggest and most costly trip? or Hong Kong, a place that is special for us? Shanghai, being brand new? Tokyo, being reasonably close, and one of my wife's favourite countries she's always wanted to visit? Or Paris... because... well... if it's going to be our goal to do all of them we'll have to do Paris at some stage...1 point

Could someone else post so photos too? I haven't seen enough of the same thing yet.-2 points

Yeah but I don't want to scroll through a thousand photos that are basically the same as what was already posted. Maybe we need a construction photo thread and a discussion thread? I'm well aware of the great photos she's posted on her page. I'm not sure if you intended to finish your sentence there or not.-3 points
