  1. If I were putting bets on it, I think something reasonably similar, but not identical to Flash at Iewa Adventure would be what it is. Which is amazing news because that ride looks brilliant, and Mack do fantastic rides by all accounts. We're getting a serious piece of roller coaster here people.

  2. A few clarifications to the article in terms of various values. Of interest is the added Credit Suisse estimates of $9 and $14m EBITDA for the coming financial years. That's would be a $50m loss to Ardent Leisure against if this incident hadn't occurred. The thoughts of Ardent Leisure 'doubling down' on this loss to properly redevelop and revitalise that whole section of the park is almost illogical from a financial view. @YLFATEEKS Ardent Leisure's carrying value for Dreamworld's land and assets is $235m. I've updated the article to reflect these figures. If we're picking and choosing potential buyers, Merlin strikes me as a more likely candidate. They have a presence in Australia and a long history of acquisition. Is Dreamworld the sort of asset that Wanda would want to work with when their current modus operandi is to build from scratch?

  3. Agreed that info can be surmised from the current pics. I've seen the plan/layout from the tender docs from someone who works at a reo company. Lift hill appears to run along the road from Justice League to GL then makes 90 degree turn right goes through some loops and or rolls (Plans are birds eye view only. No elevation) runs out towards the front then right down to AOS and then comes back along a similar path circling around the loop/roll feature and then under the lift hill following it part of the way before breaking left to circle back into the station. If the plans aren't confidential I'll post them.

  4. *whoosh* 'went down the abyss' (the bottomless chasm) as opposed to 'went down to abyss (the ride)'

  5. Please guys only negative likes, we need to get this ride to 89 ??

  6. I hope the drop doesn't turn 90° like flash. But besides that the coaster looks awesome, great airtime, lots of elements and smoooooooth. I also really like the inversions, as it gives the ride more x factor.

  7. Agreed. I saw that article pop up in my news feed this morning and rolled my eyes. The media really are clutching at straws with the dirt dishing if they think her upbringing has anything to do with what happened at Dreamworld last week. On a side note whilst talking about the media, I was approached via my blog yesterday by the GCB. They wanted permission to utilise one of my photographs with credit for their latest article about the MW Coaster. After some thinking and advice from friends and my husband, ultimately decided against it, mainly out of disgust and protest for the way they and other similar media outlets have handled the Dreamworld incident. They can bite me ??

  9. I loved From Dusk Till Dawn my third run through (by then I had watched the series and could really appreciate it) and it was really awesome! I really do agree with that though, I did have some lacklustre run through in those three mazes. My first two in From Dusk Till Dawn really lacked in actors, however, it significantly improved over the month and now is one of my favourite mazes. I still wish they had a fake snake on Santanico Pandemonium in the first room though.

  11. Wait is this what you're saying? If so do you guys think it would be like flash's drop, or like coaster through the clouds drop ?? Sorry if the photo is a bit blurry, but those are the different angles of elevation of the lift hill at 60m, 70m and 80m. Do you guys think that an angle of 37-38 ° is to steep or its normal?

  12. Good to see MW getting mentioned in the LA Times for top 17 new rides in 2017. Parkz also got a mention ?? http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-tr-top-17-new-rides-international-20161027-story.html

  13. Give me that ride turn for turn, twist for twist and I would be over the moon. Anything of the ilk would change the theme park landscape on the GC immediately as it would raise the stakes between parks on what the ceiling is for the level/scale of rides & attractions in our parks

  15. ^I hope you told them that. ? Perth Now also shared that article and got roasted by about 100 people in the comments section. It's good to see the public is sick of this media beat up.

  19. ^LOL Kyle Scandilands in speedos in a horror maze would be so horrific you'd have to have surgery to remove the part of your brain where the memory is stored to be able to have any semblance of a normal life after.

  20. The topside of the flume has water for flotation, and momentum. Too much water flowing down the drop would result in a backup at the bottom of the drop. If the boat hits too high, it would aquaplane, potentially causing issues. By allowing most of the water to drain away before it reaches the bottom, the water level at the bottom can be controlled.

  21. Hahahahaha i bet any money that the reporter form that article came on this exact forum, couldn't be F***ed reading through every page so types in like page 40, saw we were talking about hyper coasters and he believed us. I mean im praying and hoping it's a hyper, but i dont think the dude has a clue about the new rollercoaster or coasters in general.

  27. Definitely say longest. But i think they will incorporate comparisons in their marketing, like "30 kmh faster, 20 metres taller then superman" Anyway im sure if its a hyper, people would believe its taller then TOT in person, especially as the chain hill looks to be built so close to the car park. It would be a sight to be seen, people thought green lantern looked tall and scary, they got a big storm coming!! ??

  29. WBMW is definitely a full day park IMO. However if you go on a low crowd day then of course you will finnish all the rides pretty quick, but who goes to the park to only ride the rides once . I still remember when i went on an extremely low crowd day, i got to ride superman 8 times, arkman asylum (lethal weapon at the time) 6-7 times, batwing twice, Scooby-Doo 4 times and wild west falls 2 times.

  30. I have tears for all involved. My heart goes out to them. I have vowed to go back to the park after my daughter nearly drowned and staff did nothing even after I was screaming out to them and when I spoke to the park they did not care. I will definitely never go back to the park now.

  31. Though the cause of the 1979 fire at Luna Park was never determined, the general consensus is either arson or electrical faults. Neither of these really fall into what I would class as a typical theme park incident, in the same way that a tidal wave or meteorite wouldn't be classed as a theme park incident. Absolutely not. They would be completely liable in this scenario.

  32. Yes as in if you modify the length of the ride it cuts off some of the cost

  33. Haha if only it was that easy. I will still remain optimistic and hopeful for a ride like this @AlexB!

  35. Sure did ? #istandbydreamworld And yep, I've seen the same thing on a few others as well. Along with a couple of other very lengthy public anti-media rants... following my own recent one, of course ?

  36. I know that but does the general public realise that? Probably not - they think of it as a shuttle rollercoaster that launches towards & up an 119m tower.

  37. No, nothing has been confirmed, and won't be until Movie World make an official announcement. This will likely be delayed now, due to a certain recent happening at a nearby park.

  38. There are heaps of deaths at DisneyLand its just hardly any of this information leaks out being the only difference is the depth of the owners pockets to make it go away ... I was a bit annoyed to find out about this via an over sea's paper sad really not many places to visit in AU for a theme part treat .. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3872788/Dreamworld-never-open-employees-face-jail-safety-negligence.html?ito=social-facebook_Australia
