  1. I think members of the public would use "rides" and "attractions" interchangeably.

  3. Just saw this from AW's website. You can now officially take Go-Pro's on most of the rides at the park including Kraken and Abyss. It just says it must be securely mounted using a Go-Pro chest harness. It also says on a few water slides including Kraken you can bring you mobile phone on if you have a water proof dry-dock bag which AW now sells. (Maybe so guest can entertain themselves while waiting in line so they stop complaining about wait times. https://adventureworld.net.au/rides-and-attractions/rides/which-ride-suits-you

  4. You really think after removing the helicopters, they're really going to bring out joy flights in these things?

  5. Australia's population probably would have slowed down that scale of capital expenditure had they continued as return on investment would have been very difficult. There is still a likely chance the Thunder River Rapids incident would have happened regardless of who owned DW.

  7. How I hope the next few years will go: 2017- www expansion (semiconfirmed already), possible retheme of gold rush (including buzz saw) 2018- possible retheme of gold rush if not already done, new coaster either in the trrr/eureka or blue lagoon area to the new theme - notable coasters include mack Big Dipper, eurofighter, or woodie. 2019- off year after coaster, possible flat (star flyer?) or area revamp 2020- dark ride

  9. Unfortunately I'm rostered to work all day this Saturday 10th, but will be heading to DW with my family on Sunday 11th. Looking forward to it ☺️?

  10. If you are going to analyse stuff, you need to apply Occam's razor a bit more "the simplest explanation is probably the correct one". If your interpretation of something is resulting in a nonsese assertion, that probably means youve interpreted incorrectly. See this screenshot. According to you this means you can only get a ferry one way to Stradbroke island, and cant get one back?

  11. DW have spent the big bucks, just not in the area you want. DW spent 55 million on WWW. I don't think DW adding one 55 million dollar ride would ever of given them the same return that WWW has. You have to remember that DW charged you for the Thunderbolt when it first opened. What happens if this new coaster opens up at MW and they charge you $5.00 to ride? Would you be happy to pay it? If DW can't make a return of a ride, why would they build it? What B&M coaster do you want? When I go shopping for a new car I don't say I want a new KIA. I would say I want a new KIA Carnival because I have 48 kids to stuff inside.

  12. Have you been from Nerang to Surfers using the Nerang river? Are you aware that it takes about 4 times longer than by bus? The only people who would use it are tourists using it as part of a package, or school groups who want to squeeze an extra activity into their excursion to the Nerang Aussie/Chinese cultural mish mash. Not a totally irrelevant market mind you, but nothing approaching what is required to sustain the park.

  13. You are way over-analysing. Again. if I tell my missus there's awesome fares available to the US at the moment, that doesn't mean there is no way to return back to Australia, or that the return flights are expensive, just because I didn't mention that.

  14. Why would the ferry only run one way? What gives the impression it is exit only? Am I missing something? Why wouldn't it run both ways....like any other ferry, with the option to buy a single or return ticket....like any other ferry?

  15. Couldn't this have been posted in the current Aussie World thread with creating a whole new one? Seems a bit redundant......

  16. Yeah you're right. I shouldn't speculate. I just feel like ever since GD/TOT there have been so many missed opportunities to make the park into something world class. Starting with the mishap that was Cyclone and the total misfire with the motorcoaster. And the underwhelming Buzzsaw. I would swap all 3 in an instant for a B&M lol

  17. Why would they bother opening with most of the rides shut? Gonna be depressing for the people paying entry fee walking around a mostly non operating park. Should've waited until they got the all clear for at least 75% of the park.

  18. No you're not. I'm the resident asshole, you'll get used to it.

  19. Just reading that list, I think they should stop saying the Dreamworks area will be open given that none of the rides will be. There's already going to be a lot of people who didn't get the memo that there won't be rides open, probably don't need to make that worse.

  20. AIM Pinnacle Award Winner for Customer Service Excellence Adventure World was last night awarded the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) Pinnacle Award for Customer Service Excellence at Crown Perth, acknowledging the theme park’s outstanding results, leadership, and commitment to excellence in customer service. Work is also quietly progressing in the background on the secret $7.5m “Mi3” world class attraction coming next September.
