I just hope that when it does go, it gets a proper Viking funeral and they set everything on fire and push it to the middle of the lake.16 points

Who are you calling a troll? You're a parasite trying to suck information out of Parkz. I have a free tip for you. "Spend less time on Parkz and more time fixing up that shit website"7 points

Yes, I've noticed that too. The treatment of new members on this site certainly has gone downhill in the 9 days since you joined.4 points

"Have you considered an older photo..." "Also relevant." Oh... "Nothing worse than troll that can't even spell."4 points

Another website. When will the shit sites stop coming. I can understand if somebody comes up with a new great idea on how to run a theme park site but to try and compete with other sites with nothing new means you just wasted your time.4 points

Could always pop next door. The Outback Spectacular is currently featuring a seasonal Christmas Finale to the show complete with snow.4 points

It's like you think i'm some sort of theme park nerd or something... ...Yeah I heard it was a pump issue. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I was out at the park over the weekend. It was a really heartwarming vibe to be back at Dreamworld - a lot of legitimately genuine smiles on the faces of both staff and guests which was great to photograph. Here's a few early shots, more to come i'm sure.3 points

Well, your first photo had the Bermuda Triangle, and Skyway in it, showing how old it was. This photo at least doesn't have those two... unfortunately you went the wrong direction through your calendar. How about something recent... preferably of your own work... but at the very least where you use a photo that isn't your own you give the original source a credit When was the last time? A quick google using the search terms "theme park" and "richard wilson" delivered this article dated 2 November 2016 in the Australian Financial Review As for your 'shameless plug' - these I believe are strictly against the rules of the forum, so i'm glad you saw it for what it was. LOL. Newcomers are welcomed. Dickheads are recognised and shown the door. There are plenty of newer members on these boards who are active, and actively part of the community. I'd challenge that Parkz is "primarily known" as you describe.3 points

And truth be told, it just ISNT that iconic, for mine. Get rid of it and have the entire area to start anew. This way it can be completely refreshed without any ties to the past which may disturb lingering bad memories. Its best for the park, the victims families and a new area is best for the Dreamworld visitor. Win Win.3 points

Not really. I think if you did your research, you'd find that all the parks are going through the typical 'calm before the Xmas holidays storm' period right now. So it's not really the best time to be getting any indication of future crowd numbers, not unless you averaged them over an entire year.3 points

For those curious on what can still be seen of TRR....3 points

We know for certain its you so please don't fly off the handle at someone suggesting it. And yes, of course we have proof.3 points

Mate you are a friken moron. This is not a personal attack so doesn't violate guidelines, it's just a statement of a scientific fact.2 points

So we are a family with a young child... We fall into the group that you say should have filled the park alone... We wanted to go but with my son's kindy christmas party and my wife's work christmas party on Saturday and my wife's family visiting from Cairns and me working on Sunday we couldn't make it... No other reason... Your reasoning is flawed in relation to our situation... Probably is to a lot of others as well... Care to try again?2 points

It just goes to prove my theory from this post: POP returns under cover of anonymity - no baggage from the old account, and literally within a week everyone hates the new account and has worked out who it is to boot. Still not time to ask "Maybe it's me?" yet, POP?2 points

There was a redic amount of snow this year, particularly in the parade. I should know, every single time they "made it rain" I had to cover the front of my gear. Here's the proof: (fair warning, totally sappy Christmas video that involves listening to an enthusiast mumble on about the holidays)1 point

I'm just joining the dots with the new casino plus the council asking for the Queensland government to do a new master plan for the spit. If SW already has its own master plan for the next 5 years it might not be that easy to just to buy a new ride and build it anywhere.1 point

Not sure where you live, but most of the residents of the northern GC are families. Families consist of 1 or 2 of these things called parents, and quite often these parents go to work so there kids get things like Xmas presents and annual theme park passes. Most parents don't have the luxury of having 6 weeks of annual leave when school finishes, so with today being Monday, they are at Work.. the kids are at daycare, grandmas, the neighbours, or fending for themselves at home.1 point

I monitor nearmap at least weekly. Rest assured when they do an update someone with nearmap access will post it very soon after. Right now we're still stuck on 22 September. Nearmap usually only does 1-2 passes a year over the park, so we probably won't see another one until at least March\April.1 point

*pours acid on eyes* Jordan - in the interests of feedback to improve your 'newly launched website' - the single photo in that article looks like you smeared vaseline on the lens, and putting the 7 news quote in red is really putrid to read. If I were a betting man, I'd give more credit to Parkz - a site that is frequently cited by media articles as sources, and Richard himself, who is frequently contacted for interviews and to make statements about our theme parks, than (as you yourself put it) a 'newly launched website'. Even though you said 'possibly' - I still think you gave yourself too much credit. Indisputable is that the topic had been discussed on the Parkz forum for weeks prior to ANY article being published, so Parkz still lands the 'you heard it here first' banner. Finally - that's probably got to be the most shameless plug ever.1 point

LOL. Maybe AOS borrowed some of MW's snow machines for the finale and thats why there isn't as much Snow on main street? j/k1 point

On the positive side, removing VR will allow the park to fix the mess of pathways, bridges and ramps in that part of the park. There's a decent amount of free space to be reclaimed that's currently unusable.1 point

So as this is a reviews and feedbacks post, I thought I'd share mine. The only time I've ridden the Doomsday Destroyer was on Fright nights, but I'm going to try and give a review. I really enjoyed this ride. It was pure fun. Not thrilling, not OMG I"M GONNA DIE, but more like WOAH, THIS IS ACTUALLY REALLY FUN. My only concern is that one of my friends said they started to feel a little sick, but this may have been because they had eaten a bit and the ride had some added revolutions for the Fright nights experience. I didn't find the ride something to shout at or tell everyone I know, but it is a very fun ride, that chews through the ride. Honestly, for what it does, I would give this a 9.5/10. I'm not saying its the greatest family flat ride, I'm just saying, for what it does, it does it very well. Very impressed VRTP.1 point

You think they will tear down the mountain and then build a new one? I reckon there is two chances of that happening, none & buckley's.1 point

What a very New Zealander thing to say. Sea World seem to have decided to go exclusively after the parents with very young kids demo at the expense of everything else. The way they're doing that isn't to build more stuff that appeals to that group, it's to let everything that doesn't fade away to nothing. I get the feeling Sea World management would be happier if it were a 70acre luxury resort with animals rather than a theme park. What's shocking to me is that the park is being so poorly run yet the management team get to persist. I've seen people get fired from Village for far less serious things than taking one of the most profitable and iconic parks in the country and running it into the ground. The only element of the park that isn't a disgrace is the animal care side of things.1 point

Yeah good point. It was just a quick thought and thought I'd asked the question, without giving it much consideration.1 point

I think the company most likely to next build a theme park (or buy an existing one) in Australia would be Merlin Entertainments. They've been doing a lot in Australia and New Zealand in recent years and are currently building a Lego Discovery centre in Melbourne. So its not a huge leap to think they could try and snap up Dreamworld, or are putting thought into whether a Legoland could be viable here.1 point

Whether or not you are POP, maybe this isn't the right place for you to be. Parkz is meant to be a positive place to talk about theme parks, not disrespect them like you are. If you are so anti-Dreamworld go join the angry people from the GP who would agree with you and stop wasting our time by reading about every problem you have with the Dreamworld incident.1 point

POP, you do realise an alt is not helping you at all and you're probably better off just giving up? Pretty obvious that it's you now.1 point

Of course the turnout wasnt flat out terrible (even though it was pretty close to terrible), people still have their passes they can use lol. I guess we will see in a year's time when the passes run out whether or not it's going to have a future. They'd want to have a massive ride announcement by that time or it'll be game over.-1 points

Unless you have proof i am an another account, it's about time everyone shuts the hell up about it. You're just trying to discredit me because i dare tell the truth and gravity of the situation Dreamworld is in. Everyone else here seems happy to carry on with the illusion that all is fine and dandy.-1 points
