Sorry to hear that Mark, Adventure World will be certainly poorer for you leaving it!! The park is certainly in far better condition than it was when you started 6 years ago and you have set them on the path to be a brilliant park in the future. Your legacy at Adventure World is certainly enshrined! Hopefully you get to stay within the themepark industry in Australia so that you can work your magic elsewhere ( Luna Park Sydney or Melbourne is in definite need of your skill and deft managerial hand!) Thanks for being so open with the enthusiast community- I know we have all appreciated your candour and posts that you have brought to the table here on Parkz. I certainly hope you will remain a member and post from time to time and I think we all wish you well in your future ventures!! Good luck and much success to you!!3 points

Thank you Jobe, much appreciated. Like I said, there is a terrific team at AW who are committed to continuing the journey. Not sure what's next but I'll hope to stay in the Theme park industry and continue to contribute here. Mark Theme parks... Best ever2 points

Would love to see a dark ride concept themed to Bowsers Castle with pyro effects, falling Thwomps, collapsing bridge illusions etc.2 points

The other thing worth remembering about Scooby is it's themed to a movie which was an absolute blockbuster, that was filmed at the studios, it's a rather good tie in. I think updating it for a new film (which let's be honest has every chance of being shit) is a waste of time, because what ever boost you get from doing it, you also get from leaving the ride as is. There are things I'd do to Scooby, but change the film it's based on isn't one of them. As for Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin, I'm just going to put it out there that Arnie is the only thing that makes that movie watchable.2 points

Listen JoJo, contrary to what you believe, there is no Parkz Elite group. If there was I wouldn’t be allowed in and would be the last one invited. You have averaged 1 post a week since you have joined where @reanimated35 average is 14 a week. The conversation is going to go the way of @reanimated35 thinking because his/her doing all the talking. It took you 8 years for you to give us one top secret piece of information from your secret source and we know you’re a bit excited that you final have something but for the children sake, please calm down. What day will the kart track open and how much will it cost?2 points

Um no. You give yourself to much credit. Your application has been denied into the dead poet’s society. To tell you the truth nobody cares if you’re a scooper or a pooper. Jordon wants to be appreciated. I was going to wait to Christmas to give you this but since your asked so nicely I will give you your certificate now.2 points

it is a happy birthday. They've reopened, the park looks better than ever, and they can only go up from here. I really fucking wish people would stop downcasting the park like this incident just happened. it was over a month ago. In news media, it's dead and fucking buried. Move on...2 points

All, After 6 fantastic, beautiful years at AW I am no longer with the Park. ? I have loved the enthusiasm and support you guys have shown for the park and long may it continue. The team at AW are amazing so I'm sure the future will be bright. I hope the future 6 years are as exciting as the past. Thanks for your incredible support. Best at wishes to all. Mark.1 point

The flame thrower above the down chute outside the volcano didn't operate if there was any wind, it only took a very small amount of wind for it to not operate, so more often than not it was turned off. All the fire effects worked pretty well until the gas main was eventually severed and not repaired.1 point

No. Just no. If you have looked for at least half a second on the press release photos, you'll see no sign of Pikachu. Nintendo is now mostly focused on Mario, Zelda and other smaller franchises and Pokemon is now mostly independent from Nintendo. The games are developed independently from Nintendo, and all marketing decisions are made by the Pokemon Company and not Nintendo itself. If Pokemon was included in the Nintendo Land, the Pokemon Company would be involved in the development process, and the company is not mentioned in the press release. I love the Power Glove. It's so bad...1 point

Silverstone Booty Coaster FTW. Personally, an N.W.A. inspired theme might be something different and a bit spicy: "Straight Outta Logan" (sorry, I've never heard good things), and the coaster is about escaping from such a place (disclaimer for people who read everything as literal on here: I am joking).1 point

The Parkz Update: : Dreamworld reopens with respect and dignity Dreamworld quietly turned 35 this week. It wasn't cause for celebration as the theme park emerges from a very tragic and extended closure, with the theme park obviously very eager to heal and grow from the incident. Having been on the UK dark ride you speak of, I can confirm that adding guns to a ride is a gimmick that does nothing to improve the ride. Besides that, the problem with Bermuda wasn't that it was unpopular, the problem was it was literally falling apart, and would have cost a few million to fix, and that's before you even touch the effects. I don't blame them for not being keen to spend the cash.1 point

You seem to have confused Batman and Robin with BvS. Well September 2019 marks 50 years since the show first aired. But it would also be nice to have the ride look more like the one in the movie. Due to there being no room in the first half, they could extend that mirror bit out about 10m and throw in maybe the Bookcase Room and the Feast Rooms from the movie and make the elevator look a bit more like a traditional elevator. So then when you go backwards you can make it look like you fell out that window they jump out of. I'd also fill that first room of the 3rd act after the brake run with a ton of smoke and project the Scooby logo onto it or something. The resulting fog will make that room more dense and give a bit more of a surprise when you see the giant cave face staring at you surrounded by a light drifting fog. Basically a pipe dream of theming. Also instead of a video, they could arrange statues of the classics like they did for the 2nd movie to place everywhere. "Forgettable" I dare you to ask the main attendance of MW as to what they've seen more of. The 1969 original series or the 2002 movie. As far as their concerned every single monster utilized in the 2nd movie whether it be real or statue, was made for the film and didn't exist prior. When i use the term Captain Cutler when talking to friends about Scoob, nobody (even adults who grew up with it) knows who i'm talking about unless i show them the photo from MU. (The only monster created solely for the movie was the Cotton Candy Glob). Also that's a VERY expensive refurb for a still recent movie. You're talking about complete train retheme/build, Completely new theming AND story, plus new music. I think what you said is more of a pipe dream than what i'd like to happen.1 point

even as a batman tragic I pretend that movie barely exists... So, it's not info or news relevant enough to start a new thread over so I'll post it here. An outgoing Warner Bros executive confirmed today that in 2018 we will see a re-imagining of Scooby Doo hit the screens. I think late 2018/early 2019 would be an awesome time to Scooby to get a major refurb, with new/refreshed theming, new elements in the 'disco room' and (please!!) new queue videos. Make it a Scooby for the next generation1 point

Have you considered I have been told something in confidence months back and am simply reporting what can been seen publicly as of yesterday. I didn't have to post at all. If I wanted to "I know something you don't" I could have reported on Vikings when I first heard about it or carnival at Sea World. All the wingers feel free to go down to WNW yourself and take some photos. Think closer to what was rumoured to be going in HWSD between shows. Does not require any major/overly permanent infustructure. For those that complained when I chose not to post White Christmas you have a funny way of showing appreciation when I do contribute.1 point

See gloating and taking joy in lower attendance, as well as extrapolating that to mean the park is doomed is obviously a silly attitude to have. Having said that it's pretty clear that the park is much quieter than normal, to deny it is just willingly putting your head in the sand for the sake of an argument. The important thing is these return to open days are pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. We really won't have much of an idea of what's going on with attendance until February rolls around.1 point

They have a lot to work with (Pokemon, Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda) so why not? I daresay it will be largely Pokemon based. I'd love to see a Mario Kart VR ride using Rainbow Road. Now THAT would be cool-2 points
