  1. All, After 6 fantastic, beautiful years at AW I am no longer with the Park. ? I have loved the enthusiasm and support you guys have shown for the park and long may it continue. The team at AW are amazing so I'm sure the future will be bright. I hope the future 6 years are as exciting as the past. Thanks for your incredible support. Best at wishes to all. Mark.

  2. As long as the 'fire' isn't borrowed from Storm I think it'll be amazing

  3. It feels too controlled and gives no swinging or free falling experience, at least not how it has been experienced so far. I have spoken about this already in previous reviews.. The unique Villian's area as a whole is a vast improvement, easily enough. I believe the ride experience of DD itself has somewhat missed the mark for what it was meant to offer - Villians themselves should be surprising and chaotic characters and the ride is controlled, anything but. The ride itself is capable of producing more power so during it's downtime I hope they explore it's capabilities to offer a more 'Dynamic' experience this Holiday period.

  4. I could live with them removing rides if they actually replaced them.

  5. it is a happy birthday. They've reopened, the park looks better than ever, and they can only go up from here. I really fucking wish people would stop downcasting the park like this incident just happened. it was over a month ago. In news media, it's dead and fucking buried. Move on...

  6. There was a redic amount of snow this year, particularly in the parade. I should know, every single time they "made it rain" I had to cover the front of my gear. Here's the proof: (fair warning, totally sappy Christmas video that involves listening to an enthusiast mumble on about the holidays)

  8. It would most likely have cost less for sure. But problem is, say you spend 10 million to 'fix up' Bermuda. You NEVER see any return on that investment. It doesn't generate additional revenue. So it's a much better business decision to spend 20 and build a new attractions that brings in return for the capital outlay. It is a business after all, and has to be responsible to it's shareholders with the money it spends.

  9. It was an amazing, immersive ride. I went on it the Summer it opened, and then again not too long before it closed.

  12. Thank you Jobe, much appreciated. Like I said, there is a terrific team at AW who are committed to continuing the journey. Not sure what's next but I'll hope to stay in the Theme park industry and continue to contribute here. Mark Theme parks... Best ever

  16. I never said it was likely to happen, nor do I think it would be cheap or easy to retheme it, hence the words "major refurb" in my initial post (which you quoted). My thoughts are that in a few years we will be 15+ years since the release of the movie (yes I agree the ride is tied in very well) and parents who watched the movie when it came out will be taking their kids on the ride, who would never have seen the original and probably will only have the new movie as a reference point. I made a suggestion and I'll be honest, prior to posting, I didn't run the idea through a cost analysis, nor did I run any focus groups with potential post-2020 riders to see what they thought of it. My bad.

  17. Alex is right. Unlike the old cliche we do in fact put a price on a human life every single day.

  18. @Gazza I didn't say it wasn't the correct thread to post it in. Just saying we were talking about something else in another thread and it came up. Conversations lead into other conversations all the time. I thought I linked it for him so he would have seen what we said but my phone doesn't like Parkz.

  20. I don't know the actual figures, but I do remember Sea World saying Storm was the most expensive ride they've ever built. That being the case, I do have to wonder if it would have cost less to get Bermuda back up to a standard where it could have remained open, than what they spent to demolish it and build Storm. Regardless, I just think overall Sea World is being very very poorly managed. I don't know who's responsible for that, but I do think they've made a lot of big mistakes and it really needs some love.
