In all seriousness, I'm pretty happy with the fencing we've got. At least it isn't chain link like this... I reckon its just me, but I feel it looks so temporary. Imagine Green Lantern with this fencing.... ew. I'm pretty sure the raptor fencing is used on Superman and Arkham, but I think it works because the coasters go near the Asylum and jails generally have that kind of fencing. So I'm pretty happy with the fence. (You know we need an anouncement when a coaster enthusiast starts discussing how smart their fence decision was.)3 points

ToT could be rethemed to a tiger running up a tree from TI. Giant Drop could be changed to you falling from said tree.2 points

This was posted a couple of days ago by William-Owen Jones who is a part of the Division 2 for the GC and just shows that the DW carpark is completely filling So great to see2 points

I have to agree with Gary. I think the 'olden day' Gold Rush theme is great, and it's nice to have some of the original Dreamworld still around in some form or another. Plus Gold Rush & Western themes (which I consider to be very similar in nature) have successfully been used in other parks for years. What I consider to be the best themed ride on the GC is Western themed. People love that sort of stuff. Personally I'd vote for a refresh of the same theme, as opposed to a replacement one ?2 points

I'd be more inclined to believe that it's simply to immediately address the current circumstances, and avoid any obvious insensitivities, since the ride's original backstory is about the ride being haunted by a ghost/poltergeist (and the fact it sits virtually back to back with TRR). Same reason they no longer play the Jack Darke audio effects/commentary, and have removed the coffin and undertaker wagon props from outside Eureka. Leaving anything like that post incident would be seen as very poor taste. I don't think it's any indication that a theme change is coming, just stripping back the current one appropriately. That said, there's no reason why they can't keep the ride themed the way it is without the back story. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that the circular shape of the track resembles a buzzsaw blade anyway, so I don't think people would question it anyway. No more than people not questioning the Wipeout being themed to a giant wave without an explanation as to why. Just my 2c.1 point

I completely agree (although if a town full of zombies or escaping from Earth in an apocalypse extend this theme I'd be very worried about our futures)1 point

Honestly retheme or revamp I think that area will be good either way. Only option that isn't acceptable is doing nothing with it and leaving it in its current state.1 point

I didn't see that stand on Friday night! Makes me glad I went on Friday night and not last night. Wonder if they had the same same crowd reaction at Wet'n'Wild Sydney on Friday night.1 point

Hahaha I'm more referring to Friday night. Tonight they were more enthusiastic at getting up and leaving once the band was off the stage. After going through the list of performers again, I honestly have only heard of like 2 of them. I do love that you had a photo on standby, showing off the energetic crowd.1 point

I agree with that too Jason, after experiencing both Friday and Saturday nights, I fell like tonight wasn't as good as the first night. I honestly can't put a finger on exactly why that was the case. But I defiantly walked away from tonight not as satisfied as I was the previous night.1 point

They actually have a fair bit to gain from it. Saying you have a new themed land is a major draw card. It also has the benefit of removing the bad image of the area. Plus it needs big changes anyway, so it wouldn't really be that different to adding replacements and keeping the theme.1 point

I have reason to believe that they are in the process of upgrading the standard Zamperla restraint system to ensure an extra level of safety. Will probably be one of the last to reopen. Yep. I Posted that yesterday ?1 point

All at full speed.. They were testing the individual segments of the typical cycle. So the ride rolled upward and swang as it does. It then stopped after say two revolutions. There was a big stall whilst the Gondola appeared to be manually adjusted to it's position. It would perform it's next maneuver and then stop for a minute or two whilst slowly positioning and would then move on to the next part of the cycle. I was waiting to ride Tailspin when the testing began. Interesting the two ride's Attendants pointed something out regarding it's operation to each other once I was seated and had my back to it. They appeared rather curious as to what was happening but sorry I couldn't see. It looked essentially the standard ride cycle with big breaks in between each part. Overall the ride was operating smoothly and sounding in as good of a shape as it has in years.1 point

Awesome, hopefully we can see the rest of the rides open before the end of the extended opening time. I also saw testing of the giant drop yesterday but unfortunately, none on the tot.1 point

decided to head down to dreamworld today. Not going to go on too long about it but the hot wheels sidewinder had a couple of men up, working on the track. In particular grinding the steel back in some spots. Very noticble while riding tailspin at about 5:30pm with obvious sparks fying down. Tower of Terror was being tested also today. As everyone has stated above the staff of dreamworld and white water world have been very happy and they looked like they truly wanted to be there. Great vibes going around both parks. The fire machine is a great show that dreamworld should be proud of. And for also extending park hours for free to all guests. oh and the family food deal they have on atm is great! $45 for 2 burgers, 4 reg soft drink, large fries and 2 nuggets and fries. All of it was very nice. Great to see people get behind the park and support it by attending and spending inside the two parks.1 point

Came tonight... Leaving already... Even their standard food outlet in the area is selling speciality food so nothing little Mr or I can eat... Would have thought that they would at least be selling chicken tenders or something that still fits the theme but apparently not... Also doesn't help the one entrance to the Plaza area has food stalls at one side and the performers are choosing to perform right there as well... Very disappointing... Glad we didn't pay to attend or would be asking for a refund ? While we arent the only vehicle leaving at least there is no queue to get out ?-1 points
