Are you all kidding me? Let me start by saying this (and I don't mean to offend but it's going to happen), THIS IS NOT FOR YOU!! All this talk of (oh but what about people who might have allergies/not like seafood) not liking this or that, and that it's not worth it if you don't like wine. This is is a whole unique food and beverage offering at an extremely low price for what is being offered. Its not for theme park enthusiasts that want to have a winge about which part of it isn't suited to their millennial carry on personal absolute requirements. Good on Dreamworld for offering something unique that caters to the top tier market. Not everything has to be for you and things shouldn't be criticized just because they aren't. Also any guy that's getting out of Valentine's Day dinner for under $350 should be buying a lottery ticket and holding onto that partner and never letting them go! Now excuse me whilst I go buy some tickets.4 points

Out of interest for myself I scaled the 'Flash Coaster' at Lena Adventure China to MW to see if it is realistic to expect a similar coaster experience for us. Anyway I thought to share it with everyone. For scaling I used a 100m line as reference. I checked out a YouTube POV of Flash and it looks amazing. I'm excited because having made this comparison it is very possible we could get a coaster that is a minimum of 1,200m long with similar speeds, inversions, height etc. Obviously the layout will be different but I'm pumped!!!3 points

Thanks @themagician for the Nearmap pic. Based on my previous guess for the location of Top Golf, and what we have seen as far as the coaster construction goes, we have a decent chunk of land stuck between the two. We've all heard reports of the "Lakeside Precinct" and the hotel development, but what do we think is going in the yellow zone below? One rumour has it $500m is being spent on the park and these new attractions. Red: Coaster Yellow: ?????? Blue: Top Golf1 point

And even if the ride IS named after the precinct... Then where did the precinct's name come from???1 point

It was positioned in the garden bed, so to me it seems like it will be for the plants to grow up creating and green wall to some what hide the toilets behind it.1 point

^I feel for VRTP on this one. I'd love to see them sufficiently monetise quality events to preserve and/or enhance the quality of said events.1 point

That's some sound reasoning/detective work there, Dreamworld! You sure the precinct isn't named after the ride? "Why is an orange called an orange?" "Because it's orange."1 point

Anybody need mulch for the garden? New deal. With every cup of soft drink you get one free cup of mulch. (Please bring own cup and not available with any other offer) Stolen from TTTPS1 point

Superman was manufacturer locally to Intamin spec. But I'm not aware of Mack doing local manufacturing so I'd say the track with ship from Germany.1 point

I think a lot of us would be in the same boat. I only purchased my wife a pass this year so she could drop me off and come inside to grab my belongings. She will leave and go and do whatever chicks do and I don’t have to pay for a locker. The hardest thing about being a lone-rider is you have nobody to hold your gear. The best thing is I get to go to fright nights 2 times.1 point

UPDATE "Things inside and out are coming along nicely. Sadly we will miss our projected opening date of #australiaday but never fear we will be shredding together as soon." Less drinking and more working might have helped get it open on time.1 point

It has nothing about being a theme park enthusiasts for me. My partner has no interest in theme parks and it's why I spend most of my time at parks alone. This is the time of the year that I must shine. I’m just weighing up my options for the best outcome for me.1 point

^Maybe all the USA lefties that don't get into Canada might move to the Gold Coast and create a huge local market that can support a park the size of Cedar Point lol. I'm not familiar with the complexities of coaster project management, but I imagine there might be some insulation from exchange rate fluctuation if they factor in what is locally sourced into the quoted cost - such as labour, materials etc. Don't know if Mack do this, but it would seem logical. It's possible Mack were cheaper than Intamin and B & M, and it got them over the line (possibly VRTP liked what they proposed better as well). I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when they were evaluating tenders (if they did put it out to tender and had competing proposals).1 point

^ I have kept that in mind. If I hadn’t got my tickets for free, I would have felt ripped off. DW offerings blew all Village 3 parks away this year. With what SW had to offer they would have been better off turning it into a pool party at WnW. Let us face it, Village have no idea on how to deal with large crowds & make those people leave feeling happy.1 point

$175.00 per person adds up quick. I wonder if my wife would pay for herself.1 point

YAY for cables! i spent many days when i was younger honing my skiing skills at Penrith Cables (cheaper than putting the boat in the river for the day) - I do hope they're successful - can't wait to give them a spin and see how they compare.1 point
