I think the loop and roll on the flash are awesome. With superman already in the park and while its an awesome coaster it has 2 airtime hills and no inversions, 3 if your in the front or back of the train going over the first hill. Don't get me wrong I'm not all for constant inversions (arkham is kinda like this), but with a coaster of this length the 2 inversions in flash are unique points of difference on the ride and compliment the airtime hills on the ride which IMO only make the hyper coaster better without being overdone.8 points

Lol funny. But come on guys you all know if there's gonna be a real scoop you're gonna see it on Theme Parks A Go-Go before anywhere else.3 points

I'm sure a coaster of this colour would likely end up at a Mattel themed park somewhere than our Movie World ??2 points

You advertise something you want to increase interest and ultimately sales in, driving more traffic to your product. You probably don't need to bring more traffic to a park that is already in 'peak' period, plus it lets you 'soft launch' with people just passing by who are on their yearly holiday with the kids and are looking to spend some disposable income. Now that the crowds are gone, let's tell all the locals who avoid the park like the plague during peak so that they come back and patronise it during our off season. Makes sense to me?2 points

Footer = silly sepo speak This is all assuming the ride even has a loop, if it's true hyper may well not have inversions at all! The area you're talking about AlexB, is that where we assume this thing is going to have to turn around and head for home?2 points

I'd be quite excited for a loop - although for me there are two types of loops. The first is one that gives you a ton of hang-time going around the top, and the second is one that sustains positive G-forces throughout. I guess you've also got a third which is in the middle of the two. I think an intense loop could be a bit boring since they are quite overused, but I've heard great things about Full Throttle's loop, and something with that level of hang-time could be amazing. Plus, a loop can always be seen as an "icon" of the ride - try making an icon out of a 0g roll or airtime hill - it just doesn't work as well - but a loop could potentially make the ride look even cooler for bystanders. I would love a 0g roll as well, or some other cool inversion.1 point

I know a loop isn't a very inspiring element to coaster enthusiasts, but to friends of mine who aren't inversions are generally how they rate coasters. If it goes upside down, they're generally a little more freaked out to try it. Also, there is nothing more fear-inducing than a massive loop looming over you as you drive into the park. Personally, I think if the coaster is good, it doesn't need inversions, but from a marketing perspective it may get people talking about it more, and it may also set it apart from Superman (similar track, and if it doesn't do inversions, similar elements.)1 point

No one else thinks the loop is the most uninspiring aspect of Flash? I wouldn't wish or hope for such a waste of an element on what's likely to be Australia's first and only ever hyper(ish)coaster.1 point

The biggest issue I'm having working it out is the footings are not the same as Flash or Lightning or Lewa. I did a super quick search on goggle earth but I didn’t locate The Flash. I think overlaying the loop might be the best option. (Quick food for thought because we are all super ride engineers. An easy way to remember if it's a footer or footing. “Skeet is in the line waiting for his first ride on the new Wonder Women Coaster when @reanimated35 comes along trying to cut the line and pushes skeet aside. Skeet almost loses his "FOOTING" but skeet recovers quickly and takes care of the situation”. Alternatively, if skeet lost his footer you would wonder why skeet was working on a word document while waiting in line). 1 = Footing 2 or more = Footings Footer = printed page located under the main text.1 point

INB4 anyone asks - no, Nearmap is not updated beyond September. So these footers are new (obviously) and it occurs to me that the "triple" placement suggests an inversion or loop of some description at this point (which will make for a great view on the highway as well as great photos from the footpath)1 point

For some reason my Google Earth randomly changes between showing the most up-to-date images, and showing Bermuda Triangle still standing at Sea World. Whatever. 2008 was cool too.1 point

Google Earth recently updated their satellite images so whilst they are not 'up to date', these are the most 'up to date' satellite images of the hypercoaster we have now: 1st October 2016: 15th October 2016: The area of the construction site near Justice League as well as the area along Entertainment Road had a lot of activity in the 15-day period between satellite images. And that's the best image quality Google Earth could provide.1 point

It's funny because the coaster featured in this thread is still sitting unbuilt.1 point

Definitely 'included' as opposed to 'free'. I think a lot of people forget that Premier members (speaking as one) actually pay extra per month on top of the normal pass cost in order to have these event tickets included each year. So we are still paying for them, just at a discounted, upfront cost than buying during the actual event seasons.1 point

^pretty much this, they're just not popular any more. Reduced opening hours and being closed for a lot of the year has been going on for the past couple of years, probably partly because of their out-of-the-way location and their decreasing popularity. I doubt they'd be around for too much longer honestly, despite being a Dreamworld classic.1 point

Geez, the site is looking very green atm following all the recent rain lol. More work going on with the fencing today, other than that there is not a huge amount of activity happening. Appears to me that they are awaiting the next stage of development (or maybe an official announcement first?) ? Hard to believe that this ride is only 7 months away from opening to the public! Super keen to see what happens next ???1 point
