  1. Not a bad week for fake news between the coaster track, the Gold Coast Bulletin piece and now this.

  2. It's 2017. I'm offended by apologies and your apology for having an opinion offends me. I demand you apologise for apologising without actually apologising as that will offend me again. What a great world we live in.

  4. Hahaha. I think its hilarious how excited we are all getting over something like grass being mowed. I bet park management would be getting a real kick out of reading these posts right now ?

  5. I don't have one? I appreciate each and every of them for their own reasons. Especially after living rurally for 10 years where there's no theme parks, and the Gold Coast ones are a 4 hour drive each way to get to. Personally I'm very thankful for very day I get to spend at each theme park, and heaven knows I have a lot of jealous friends over the fact I get to go so frequently. And yes, I suppose it would also be easy to take somewhere like Dreamworld for granted when you've obviously had the advantage of worldwide travel to visit other major parks. Not all of us can say the same, so we continue to appreciate our local ones. They have brought me a lot of personal happiness and inspiration over a long enough period of time for me to ever feel otherwise. If I didn't already have an unlimited membership for Dreamworld, I'd be more than happy to accept your punishment offer any day. I'm sure most of us can think of much worse ways to spend our time lol ?? PS. If you consider going to Dreamworld as "punishment", then have you ever considered... wait for it... maybe not going there?

  6. Seen here it hardly makes it to the "OF" in "tower of terror" It may have climbed higher in its early days but these days I recon it only just makes 200ft Maybe MW should stick a 200 foot pole on top of their new coaster and claim it to be Australia's tallest coaster.

  7. @Theme Park Girl Why? It has been separated now so we can talk about this for weeks. Once @Jamberoo Fan finishes his/her research on the topic I'm sure he/she will have lots to add.

  9. Stumbled across this article today suggesting Ardent are pursuing a proposal to build a park in Coffs Harbour. Figured it would be worth sharing. http://northcoastchronicle.info/2017/02/dreamworld-developer-to-open-theme-park-in-coffs-harbour/

  10. Bahaha get stuck in! Industry people getting stuck into Wet 'n' Wild Sydney is one of my favourite things. Anyway...12 acre theme park? Yeah that's a bit like building a helipad and calling it an airport. Hope they have some success though, Ardent haven't shown much in terms of commitment to the Australian Amusement business, so good to see them investing, and Coffs could do with something else.

  11. No I don't actually. Dreamworld as punishment was a joke following on from the post preceding. How dare I raise the ire of keyboard warrior dreamworld fanboys. I love Movie World, generally enjoy Sea World, Adventureworld in Perth was fun, Luna Park Sydney is ok but does have some good points, LP Melbourne the same. Wet and Wild or White Water World don't really go to. Giant Drop is the best drop ride I've been on IMO, but otherwise I personally find DW a bit dry, lacking rides I'd go out of my way to visit the park for, and I've never been interested in their animal attractions. Again, I apologise for having an opinion on DW.

  12. Just drove past. Ride on mower cutting the grass 3 utes in the area. Most activity theres been for a while.

  13. Why not both? In any case, I hope it gets the same love Tiger Island got. That'd make me really, really happy. Dreamworld's biggest advantage is being one-stop destination for out of towners, waterpark, rides, koalas, kangaroos, local culture, pretty tough to beat in terms of a one day destination.

  14. Going to DW is punishment. Just when I thought I had heard all types I've crazy you came along.

  16. Surfrider for me is a coaster, because the LIMs only sit on part of the track, and momentum/gravity propels the train up and down the ends of the two spikes. (plus rcdb lists it as one) Shockwave is powered 100% of the time, and therefore isn't a coaster.

  20. Was expecting you to say like 10-15 workmen.. if i say "a number of...." it's usually because I can't be bothered counting the total number, but counting to 3 or 4 isn't too strenuous on my brain..

  21. The last visit was in Dec 2015 so that might be recent enough. To be honest with you I stuggled to think of a park that truly is punishment to make a humorous play on a previous post. If I'd known I'd irk all the badass DW fanboys I would have refrained lol. So anything new on the coaster? ^I apologise for apologising, I reverse my apology & will go back in time and vote for Hillary Clinton (disclaimer: that is a joke).

  22. downunder, do you live in a castle and have servants tending to your every need with unlimited money and genius-level IQ? Because that's what it sounds like if going to Dreamworld is punishment. I don't think going to any theme park in the world could be considered punishment.

  23. Yeah I'm a bit stumped on that comment @downunder obviously you can have any opinion you want, but to say it's a punishment just sounds epicly negatively skewed to me.. i take it you generally dislike all Australian parks then? And I'd question if 2 visits in 12 years is enough to accurately judge a parks merits..

  24. I realise I'm basically rehashing the same thoughts I had 2.5 years ago back on the first page of this thread, but it's still an interesting concept to me... Flume rides are track rides that use gravity and are moved from the station with gravity-fed water. What about that definition of a roller coaster -- or even a water coaster -- does a flume ride like Wild West Falls not meet. But Storm does? If it's about how much of the ride is mounted on a track @YLFATEEKS, then what do we make of something like a bobsled roller coaster? My only real point in this is that most people seem to fall back to textbook definitions to declare rides either a coaster or not, but the amount of grey areas means that even these don't hold up to scrutiny

  25. You all missed one critical point. RCT3 defines TOT2 as a coaster, so therefore it is.

  27. That area was where Dreamworld's Casey Jr. circus train knock off was. When Tower of Terror was built it took up some of that ride's land so they pulled it out and put in Creature Cruise with the land that was left, the entrance to which was in the area across from the Dodgems are (it wasn't directly across the path, but wasn't far away either, know what I mean?)

  28. The footings on this coaster are capped individually and capped as a group makes it harder for people to compare the footings to the flash. I try treat each footing individually and it still confuses me. That's as far as I have gotten.

  30. @reanimated35 It has nothing to do with having an opinion. DW is not at the top of my list either but his response sounded like I was talking to Pop. When I pressed him further "Going to DW is punishment. Just when I thought I had heard all types I've crazy you came along. " He did not say I was just joking. He wrote " It is to me, it bores me shitless, but I'm jaded from going to parks all over the world." He wrote this after being pressed more by other. "Dreamworld as punishment was a joke following on from the post preceding." After that her tried to deflect what he /her said onto others. "How dare I raise the ire of keyboard warrior dreamworld fanboys." But I am happy to move on now. @Ash Interesting.
