  1. This Movie World hypercoaster rendering is cool... but it's not real A fan video put together that uses satellite photos of the construction site to extrapolate the layout of Warner Bros. Movie World's forthcoming hypercoaster is good fun, but it's nothing more than a guess. Click here to continue reading

  2. Hey everyone, @jack.c: thank you for sharing my video! This is my first posting here so i want to thank you all for the constant updates on the construction. Thanks to all these pictures (especially the aerial perspective) showing the foundations I was able to recreate the ride. I took a really close look on the position of the footers and tryed out many different variations of the layout to fit it in best. I'm quite sure that the simulation meets the actual layout at about 90% of the track very closely. There are only a very few footer positions left out after I assigned all the others in a proper manner. Anyway the video should give us a hint on what the ride may look and feel like - thats all about it. Greetings from Germany

  3. Well that settles it the joker when it's cloudy and suicide squad when it's sunny

  4. OMG the damn track is Magenta, it's not pink, purple, grape, puce or any other bloody thing people want to come up with. I mean the conversation on what the theme is is already going around in circles with the same names but geeze a debate over what colour something is when it's sitting right there to see (i.e. is a fact) is mind numbing. Unless you you work in some form of design and have a professional understanding of colour please stop with your 2 cents for the sake of all our sanity.

  5. I reckon its Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad appealed to people around 13-18 which is also the kind of people who you see at Movie World the most, the younger of that gap gets the parents to come as well. Those at that age actually enjoyed the movie, so I think it would be a great decision for Movie World. It was a movie with big hype and big momentum that personally I didnt think dropped when the movie got bad reviews. It still got a lot of people watching. I think it would be a great theme. It appeals to the key audience and its recent enough for people to know the name.

  7. I must say, that despite this may not being perfect, if that's what we get, I'll be a very happy man. Looks awesome, and I'd say that the layout is pretty spot on for what we can expect. And it also gives everyone an idea of the exact colouring of the track.

  8. That coaster design looks AWsome! If this coaster has a layout anything like that this coaster will really be up there!

  9. So looking at AW's building permits. They have now gotten approval to build a high voltage substation as Mark spoke about last year. (That was the 1.5 million dollar HV ring. So this means they should be able to build some more big rides and power them! I have noticed looking at the dates the permits are placed is that AW seems to get permits to build the rides just before construction starts IE April and May for MI1&2. So there are currently no permits for MI3 or trademarks.

  10. Whilst I agree that that the colour will appear different depending on the light levels, there is no way that could be pink. There was actually a lady in a pink top walking through the car park as I drove out. Considered asking for her to pose with the track to show the difference

  11. I hope it's Bizzaro, he's my favorite villian, so badass!

  12. The Elton John? Just add a few sparkly bits to the train, job done.

  13. 101% agree ? I admit that whilst I wasn't a huge DC/Marvel fan growing up (I was more into TMNT & Sonic comics ??) I was still enough of a tomboy to be familiar with all their main characters. And I admit that I had NEVER heard of this Bizarro guy until Movie World built the Super-Villians Unleashed area. He's been a minor recurring villain in like, what, a couple TV series/cartoons and a small handful of DC comics? ? I'm just not convinced he is popular or well known enough to be the face of the biggest rollercoaster in the southern hemisphere ? Think about it, guys... the upcoming ads on TV... "Come ride the new Bizarro hypercoaster at MW" (queue people scratching their heads in confusion and asking who the heck "Bizarro" is) OR as a complete random but ideal example: "Come ride the new Wonder Woman hypercoaster at MW" (now THAT'S more like it!) Look at the other existing DC character rides... Batman, Superman, Arkham Asylum aka Joker & HQ, Green Lantern. They are all based on well known and recognisable characters & places. Practically household names, even to non-comic book fans. Their presence is everywhere. Even lesser known comic book characters like Aquaman, Harley Quinn and Thor are recently having box office movies made about them to make them household names. One can completely understand having new rides themed to any of the above, despite having a lesser known presence worldwide in the past. They weren't known so much then, but they are now. Fact is, Bizarro is NOT a household name, and never has been. He's a supporting act villian. He hasn't been in any major movies, nor is he in any upcoming ones. In fact the character was planned to be the antagonist in the Man Of Steel movie, but was scrapped. In my opinion, if they are doing this - which they are - they are gonna do this the right way and make it based on a much loved, well known hero or villian that everyone instantly recognises. Something that people can connect with immediately and possibly even form an emotional connection with. Something that pulls the crowds in and help Movie World to subsequently make as much profit from this as well - they are a business, afterall! Sorry Bizarro, but in my opinion, you're a huge no go for this lol. Not until you at least have a major role in a new DC movie so people know who the heck you are to begin with? ETA: a quick google online and it doesn't even look like he's a popular option for a major movie character... at least as a first indication by these random 25 comic book fans, anyway ??

  14. To be honest I am extremely surprised that Kraken was in the list over Abyss. Kraken maybe a great themed ride but in the end it is just a Tornado- a ride that has numerous examples in Australia. Abyss is a well themed , and from all accounts- well recieved Eurofighter- which is currently unique in the Australian market.

  15. Bizzaro makes zero sense, outside reader of DC comics and the odd cartoon, the character is pretty much unknown. If they are going to have a coaster with minimal theme why would they give it to a unknown character which has zero big movie presence. Any theme they would do they would have to explain who the character is. They would want to go with a character that people know, which makes marketing the ride much easier. Especially when the ride is as big as this one is, you would want to put as known of a character as you can in that spot. Which would be a character that is either in a big movie or will be in one. The grey is likely a neutral colour and not related fully to the character. Grey is a colour that blends in easily, so it could of been chosen just to avoid distracting from the track itself.

  17. Yeah as I said... Heartline roll is more a wish than anything... Realistically I think we will see more bunny hop hills in that final section but the heart wants what the heart wants (pun intended) so I had to include it at the risk of being wrong just because...

  18. Man I still can't comprehend that this thing is going to be twice as tall as the green lantern. It sort of reminds me of x2 at six flags in a way that the coaster is so close to the road

  19. Gosh, wouldn't it be a laugh if the Hypercoaster didn't even end up being DC themed at all. And here we are picking our brains out trying to identify which DC character it could be related to! I know the chances of it not being DC themed are pretty rare, given its placement in the park and the obvious favouritism that MW has had of late with the franchise. But hey, who knows, maybe they will surprise us with a completely new direction? Maybe bring the ol' movie magic back to life again ???

  20. But this ride will rival SE, so maybe that's what they are going for if it's a villain

  21. So are the supports a grey, charcoals or black? ??? So here's a new topic for the next 20 pages. When do people think vertical construction start?

  22. I now really think it will be Bizzaro now. He is the opposite Superman, it kinda works.

  23. Hmmm... If this really is magenta, it's certainly not hot pink... Maybe, just maybe we might get Bizzaro...

  24. Grey and pink go really well together, so I'm glad about that. It also definitely rules out the Joker and probably Lex Luthor too. Honestly I wish MW would just make an announcement so we don't have to be in the dark any more. This is almost worse than when we didn't have the track and no clue of the theme at all.

  25. I also think the Motorsports one is pretty good too
