Have just caught up on the last 6 pages of this thread. My god I'm desperate for an announcement now. Actually just on that where is the early marketing? If you buy a VIP pass now you get to ride it. So where's the non stop blitz to get the word out. This will be the best roller coaster in Australia, and it's the biggest single investement in Gold Coast theme park history. It needs the biggest marketing campaign since Bermuda to ensure it's a success. I know it's early but this ride is THAT big of a deal. Better be a documentary team down there to do an hour special on it.14 points

Hey everyone, @jack.c: thank you for sharing my video! This is my first posting here so i want to thank you all for the constant updates on the construction. Thanks to all these pictures (especially the aerial perspective) showing the foundations I was able to recreate the ride. I took a really close look on the position of the footers and tryed out many different variations of the layout to fit it in best. I'm quite sure that the simulation meets the actual layout at about 90% of the track very closely. There are only a very few footer positions left out after I assigned all the others in a proper manner. Anyway the video should give us a hint on what the ride may look and feel like - thats all about it. Greetings from Germany12 points

This Movie World hypercoaster rendering is cool... but it's not real A fan video put together that uses satellite photos of the construction site to extrapolate the layout of Warner Bros. Movie World's forthcoming hypercoaster is good fun, but it's nothing more than a guess. Click here to continue reading4 points

It's not about ratings, though. It's about exposure. It's MOVIE World, afterall! That's why a lot of attractions are themed to movies which have recently come out at the time, and you've used some fantastic examples of MW ones - Scooby, Green Lantern, Wild Wild West (yes, originally the ride WAS themed to the movie which came out around the time, it was only changed a few years later due to a licensing dispute), even the fact that the majority of their rides are DC themed is all revolved around the fact that DC movies are so popular and being released in bulk over the past decade. They are going with what's most familiar, most popular, and being made a household name. In my opinion, pretty much everything is based on the box office movie side of things when it comes to major Movie World attractions. And I believe this will be no different ☺️? PS. Yes I'm aware that Bizarro was featured in the Super-Villians area, but honestly, who else were they going to use to make up numbers if they needed a wide variety of DC Villians from their different franchises? In this case they mixed it up a bit. But I don't believe it will be an ongoing thing. I reckon they will play their cards right and most definitely pull out an Ace for the biggest attraction they have ever added to their park ??3 points

The villain in the JL movie is Darksied, Stepenwolf and the Parademons1 point

Actually, we know that the villain is Steppenwolf, portrayed by Ciarán Hinds. Steppenwolf is Darkseid's uncle in case you want a picture of where he sits in the DC universe. But his color is more red-brown: So I dont think the coaster will be themed to him.1 point

I'll just leave some track photos. Unfortunately, I don't live up on the coast to take my own photos, so I found these on TPSN's MW Hyper Coaster page. They are quite close up. Hopefully they put the magenta/pink/purple argument to rest. This track color is the most ambiguous I have ever seen. I'm sorry if someone else has already uploaded these to this thread.1 point

I personally don't think there needs to be a film for a character, before they theme a ride to it. A ride would provide a fresh perspective to a character that may not be as known, and if they ever did make a film featuring that character, or could get people to think about the ride. I'll use this example again, they made a terrible movie for GL, but because of that they didn't decide not to theme it to him because people may have a bad view on it. Same with Scooby, and even WWF, which was loosely based off the Wild Wild West film (debatable that connection), but they weren't that great of movies and they turned it into a kickass ride. And they have featured characters in the villains area, which are unknown, some I never even heard of, but they included them and they really have added to the whole precinct. No matter what this coaster is themed to, Im sure it will be great, but there are obviously themes that would be a bit disappointing, such as Power Rangers. But I don't think they can go wrong with any DC character.1 point

Pretty sure there is one of the main (electricity) substation/transformers that feed the park perched on that hill, along with what looks like fire fighting equipment. So I don't think it would be a simple area to develop. There would be service trenches running everywhere for power.1 point

I colored the footers on the map to show in which way I matched them with the layout: yellow: final brake, station, lifthill + first drop, first airtime hill, loop entry blue: loop exit, overbanked turn, inclined dive pink: twisted airtime hill (or whatever you want to call it), zero g roll, overbanked turn red: another overbanked turn, corkscrew, 3 x airtime hill cyan: couldn't be matched Looking at some pictures of "Flash" at Leva Adventure helped a lot to figure how the footers may be used. Its easy to see that the distance of the footerpairs is related to the track hight. Of course it is not easy to tell how high the elements will be exactly but at this point I trusted my experience. This means that in the end there may be more or less airtime depending on the actual shape of the track. The hardest part was to figure out what kind of elements are located in the middle of the layout. It took me quite a while to realise that the looping support structure at Lewa matches perfectly with the position of the footers. I hope this explaines my assumption of a 90% correct layout. If you have any improvements please feel free to tell. I will also update the simulation when the construction prograss reveals more details.1 point

Bit off topic, but just an example of how many parks in the US are like with new coasters. (Bar RMC Mean Streak of course). It's very up front about everything that's going to be on the ride. What I would give for our parks to be less secretive hahaha.1 point

It's very cute that he thinks he is 90% correct. Its got a lift hill and it's magenta and charcoal. Yep well 90% is right, with the 10% just being the entire layout and elements Nice ride but it's all floater and no ejector so it's a no thanks from me.1 point

OMG the damn track is Magenta, it's not pink, purple, grape, puce or any other bloody thing people want to come up with. I mean the conversation on what the theme is is already going around in circles with the same names but geeze a debate over what colour something is when it's sitting right there to see (i.e. is a fact) is mind numbing. Unless you you work in some form of design and have a professional understanding of colour please stop with your 2 cents for the sake of all our sanity.1 point

It is déjà vu but I think this is beyond stupid. When DW and MW were built, it was in the middle of nowhere. You would go up the lift hill on the thunderbolt and see nothing for miles. They have allowed people to build closer and closer to the theme parks. Most of the economy on the Gold Coast is tourism. Without tourist, the Gold Coast will die very quickly. The government have forgotten this. The consequences if Luna Park closed is nothing compared what would happen to the Gold Coast if DW & MW closed.1 point

Ha that's great. It literally looks a different colour in every shot. Good ole TPSN with quality photography skills as usual. As for @joz catching up on the last 6 pages... Did you want to stab yourself afterwards?0 points

I agree completely. It's bad enough that one of the rides at Dreamworld is called Tower of TERROR (especially considering the connection of that word with terrorism since 9/11. Completely goes against what a theme park is all about.-1 points
