  1. Someone told me about this competition. So here is my layout (it's the same as in my video, you might have watched):

  2. Nobody is hot under the collar here. No calming is required at all because we are just having a conversation and throwing some ideas around. Nobody can take a hint so I just think I will leave it at that- Monday 27.03.2017 1:15pm Update The assembly work area (the car park) has seen no action today. The gates have remained closed. 2 empty containers remain that once housed the supports. The crane is still in the current location it was left in last week. The 2 temp structures have not been worked on since last week. On track. The top of the concrete caps’ are currently being water blasted. A grader is parked in the first site office compound.

  3. Guys, I think a little calming down here is required. I have had equipment delivered the next day after arrival and I have had some stuck in customs on the dock for two weeks after the original delivery. It all boils down to customs and when they release the items. Normally they will lay out the parts in such a way to allow for the best installation times (first part required is closest to exit etc). as you would a large Lego set ( we did notice this during Cyclone and Superman constructions). Perhaps the parts that have arrived first are intended to be first delivered due to being last installed? And maybe they are still going through the containers to ensure the next parts delivered are in the correct order for how they want to install? Only a thought I know, but this is how we assemble our larger items that get contained over for our projects.

  4. Well... this is what happens when I can't access Parkz from work. All good - i'm back now. After getting through all these pages - I feel like one thing is for certain. i didn't need to read all those pages. I also love how the colour conversation continued even after @djrappa flipped out. For the love of god VRTP need to make an announcement - and they need to do it on any day except this coming Saturday. I also echo the sentiments that i hope they've got Discovery channel or Nat Geo down there filming a documentary \ making of. I hadn't given it any thought, but I do like the ideas put forward about Catwoman. As for the trains being hidden - we saw with Jet Rescue that all it takes is some guy to leave the container door open at the right time for some person passing by to get a shot of the trains. I feel certain though, that we'll have an announcement before that happens (watch that go up in flames now too). Page 125 and we're still not vertical. I'll check in tomorrow hopefully before its at page 147.

  5. Have just caught up on the last 6 pages of this thread. My god I'm desperate for an announcement now. Actually just on that where is the early marketing? If you buy a VIP pass now you get to ride it. So where's the non stop blitz to get the word out. This will be the best roller coaster in Australia, and it's the biggest single investement in Gold Coast theme park history. It needs the biggest marketing campaign since Bermuda to ensure it's a success. I know it's early but this ride is THAT big of a deal. Better be a documentary team down there to do an hour special on it.

  6. Hey everyone, @jack.c: thank you for sharing my video! This is my first posting here so i want to thank you all for the constant updates on the construction. Thanks to all these pictures (especially the aerial perspective) showing the foundations I was able to recreate the ride. I took a really close look on the position of the footers and tryed out many different variations of the layout to fit it in best. I'm quite sure that the simulation meets the actual layout at about 90% of the track very closely. There are only a very few footer positions left out after I assigned all the others in a proper manner. Anyway the video should give us a hint on what the ride may look and feel like - thats all about it. Greetings from Germany

  7. Hello All, Have been lurking this thread for a while and thought I would throw in my two cents. I don't know much about customs for Magenta Hypercoaster parts but the issue with expecting that the containers are all sitting at a shipping yard is demurrage. Containers that are released to the wharf from shipping are normally only allowed a free dehire period of around 10 days. Anything longer than this and the charge is significant. Sometimes this is unavoidable with issues such as customs and Aqis holding up proceedings but if the stock has landed in Australia it is either off of the wharf unpacked at a storage warehouse, MW are paying a fortune for demurrage on what has been speculated as 200 containers, or they own their own containers which seems unlikely.

  8. Another metric i'd like to see introduced (pure wishlist here, i'm sure it would be harder to do) is to give more weight \ trust to reviews given by people who have given more reviews, or been on more rides within the database - since their rating is likely taking into account a far wider comparison... In other words - Dodgy Dave signs up, logs in, and gives a 10/10 rating to the travelling Crazy Mouse - because he just so happens to work there. He logs off, never to be seen again. Meanwhile - Gazza comes along, and enters a review for a new ride in the database (that he created only a few moments ago) - this brings his total ride count to stupid-hundred-and-one. Gazza's rating should be trusted a lot more than Dodgy Dave's... this of course does mean that if Dodgy Dave comes back, and starts reviewing more and more rides, that his overall rating on each ride would gain more confidence as he completed each review (makes a negative skew a lot harder to achieve without a lot of work) Unrelated, but something else i'd like to see is an 'I agree' button. For many of us, we feel the same way about some rides (and grossly differ on others). If we disagree with a review, i'm sure we'll make the effort to express a differing opinion (thats usually what the forums do) - but if we agree with the review - then a simple 'i agree' would give that same rating more 'confidence' in the system - effectively it would be another rating of the same value - and would be the database equivalent of an up-vote. Users would have the opportunity to change their 'agreement' the same way they can change their review (except changing agreement would require a full review entry), but you would only be allowed to hit 'I agree' once - so you couldn't go in repeatedly and upvote multiple times. I have no knowledge or idea on how hard these might be - but wanted to raise the ideas for consideration should it be possible.

  9. ^ HERE HERE!! One of my pet hates was when Supervising the Looney Tunes ride and Tech Services would often leave work lights on in the Maintenance Bay before leaving, casting light across the ceiling and spoiling the 'night sky' effect.

  10. Pure speculation on my part but given nothing else matched the time frame, ports and flags expected it did become a no brainer if you knew what to look for Think I have shown plenty of times that investigating and researching when I am shown a bone is not an issue for me

  11. That light has always been there. Bugs me to hell too. Much like the lights over the wall at Storm's station. Oh how I hate seeing maintenance lights.

  12. If I couldn't get on at work, I wouldn't know what else to do during the day. These days @djrappa flips out so much nobody cares anymore. I would be interested to know your thoughts on what you think has been the hold up in getting the coaster to site? I know @MaxxTheMonster got the ship right even if he didn't realise it himself. Which was weeks ago, now. So, after weeks of this coaster sitting at the ports they decide to send over 2 containers of tracks and two containers of supports. You can tell by way the steel construction team inspected the track last week it was them that requested to see the track. It’s obvious they can get the track into the car park, so what do you think is the reason the coaster is sitting in the docks and not being delivered to MW?

  13. ^I think, because that is an emergency exit, they're required to have lights on in that corridor. I guess they could put a small metal plate behind it so it obscured it through the doorway though.

  14. ^ finally!!! While they're at it, I hope they address the maintenance light glare above the monitor at the end of that corridor. It's been bugging me for ages. The area should be dark.

  15. Plus, if we learned anything from the hoax pics from a few weeks back, its easy to play with the colour range and saturation slider in Photoshop to make it look different. Having seen the track in person, this isn't representative of the colour at all. It's not baby pink! Of all the photos posted in the thread, I think this one below best portrays the colour. Magenta is the wrong word for it....Magenta is the colour you see on an an ink cartridge, and it is certainly not that pink/red. It's definitely towards the purple end of the spectrum and away from pink. Not Cadbury purple of course, but still in the purple range....Fuchsia is actually a good description I reckon.

  16. @djrappa I don't have the strength to hold a knife after reading 6 pages of it. Also there's a post about 5 pages back that I agree is one of the worst posts, on any website, on any subject in the history of the internet.

  17. I'll just leave some track photos. Unfortunately, I don't live up on the coast to take my own photos, so I found these on TPSN's MW Hyper Coaster page. They are quite close up. Hopefully they put the magenta/pink/purple argument to rest. This track color is the most ambiguous I have ever seen. I'm sorry if someone else has already uploaded these to this thread.

  18. We know it isn't, but will just add this too, that I shared this video on my page and have had someone say that they are a MW employee and can confirm this isn't accurate, but a good guess.
