  1. Could more photos from later today from TPSN. You can see how many supports they fit in a container, and they've also installed the second roof cover

  2. Would be a good 20 or so pieces of track in the carpark now, and a similar number of supports. Crane's lifting more pieces out and more Top Golf bits & pieces also being taken out of enclosed containers and placed on the far perimeter near the metal sheeting and access tunnels. Here's the latest piece to be taken out... now I'm off to work haha

  3. I really knew nothing about any of these parks in Melbourne until this thread made me do a bit of research. They are really starting to come into their own. It's interesting and very positive that a number of these smaller parks are now seeing the value in investing in major new attractions. Adventure Park in Geelong is about to install a Tornado and the ad on the website is up there on par with the GC parks in terms of design, as you can see. I've always felt bad for Melbourne for only having the very below average Luna Park, but it looks like things are on the up down there.

  4. @mission Blue Lagoon was the water park within DW, which is what you see in that image, next to the BB studio. It was that volcano/mountain which had multiple slides. @Cactus_Matt haha I thought you did mean that, but thought I'd post a close up anyways, as that is as good as are going to get. When BB was still around and the house opened to the public after the show finished, you walked past this area, and could see the majority of it is still there they've just filled in the Pools. You could even use the toilets that were there, and there were still the shop/locker area there, just fenced up.

  5. And DC are very strict with the licensing of characters in parks. All details need to be accurate, with characters represented correctly.

  6. This was my 1st ride photo from the late 80's on the Thunderbolt -a guy used to stand next to the loops to take the photo

  7. If the Track height reaches 196.8 feet then the train, seat and passenger height should easily eclipse the big 2 0 0 mark, from the perspective of where riders view it (assuming head's are on top of their bodies as is usually). This be the case then AA places it's riders significantly lower than the track's peak height of 30 odd metres.. but when was the last time anyone cared to question that? It's a Hypercoaster.

  8. Forgot to Take a photo of it but all the framework/rebar etc is in place, looked ready for the cement to be poured (may have held off on doing it due to the sporadic rain today)

  9. If it's under 200ft, then it's not a hypercoaster. There's nothing that will change my mind on that, it's a definition and that won't change. For me the ride needs to be 200ft from the lowest point on the ground one of the ride's supports touches - or it has a drop of 200ft or more (but generally you'll find if that is true the first will be true anyway). If it's a few centimetres under - it doesn't fit the definition and thus isn't a hypercoaster. If you really want to argue that it should be measured from sea level - then every coaster at Magic Mountain should be classed as a strata coaster (if that) because the park is already 350m above sea level. Yeah sorry, that's a completely absurd argument. I believe the traditional definition of a hypercoaster requires it to have no inversions too - however the definition of a hypercoaster has changed slightly in the past few years because of this. Regardless - if it's under 200ft it's not a hypercoaster, and that's something that's not going to change.

  10. Well in that case, well the ground level in the area is roughly 15 metres above sea level. So that definitely makes this new coaster a hypercoaster. Glad we got that one sorted.

  11. And you can see in the middle of the piece, on the top there is a support connection point too.

  12. Here's the thing - when they are planning the ride, they'll naturally consider the theme, as they need to choose colours etc. Any new ride is probably going to need conversation \ negotiation with DC regarding what theme they wish to use, so that it can be added \ negotiated onto their license. During that negotiation, the likely time of opening \ construction would be known, so if DC had been planning any changes to the character, they would need to advise them at the time. That said, paint \ colour scheme wouldn't have had to be that far in advance, so even if the change was known in say June 2016, there was still plenty of time to change artwork and colour scheme before shipping.

  13. I agree, the unused land that could be used to put a massive RMC or other great coaster makes me sad.

  16. With all these upwards curving (non-cornering) pieces, surely we can now confirm a loop?
