If anyone was wondering what the correct answer to these questions are, I have them answered below: * If it's full circuit taller than 200feet OR has a drop taller than 200feet it's a hyper. Anything less than that isn't a hyper * No it doesn't matter. The general public wouldn't know that the word 'Hyper coaster' has any sort of special meaning relating to height, and there are generic marketing words that would work equally well if used as a prefix to the word coaster. (Mammoth, Mega & Jumbo all spring instantly to mind). Be sure to tune in next week where the questions will be "Is Sea World technically a theme park since it doesn't really have themed areas?" and a return of last weeks fan favorite question: "What colour is Movie World's new coaster?"4 points

Pity there wasn't enough space for the words "*Extra Charges Apply" On the other hand I like that it's an ad for the park or something tangible in it rather than an ad for the latest ticket or the latest buzzword, which I believe this year is 'Magic'4 points

On the road out of Brisbane Airport is this billboard, been there a few months. Just in case people haven't seen it:3 points

Couple of construction update photos, quality isn't the best because of the sunsetting. And because these are apparently a part of TG, I'll post these here:2 points

Here's my photo contribution for this week The temporary entryway into the MW carpark has concrete laid, and nearly ready to be used: The inside the coaster compound now has a road running through it, which I'm sure makes things more convenient for the workers and their heavy vehicles: Lots of coaster parts have now arrived and are awaiting to be transported and assembled. Got a few pics from different angles just so you can see exactly how many (and possibly help to identify what type they are?) And obviously as we all know there are many, many more on the way lol Inside the station construction area, lots of orange things have now appeared which I'm assuming is related to electrical conduits or something along the lines? @Skeeta, maybe you can shed light on this? I'd love to know Every week we're seeing more and more activity happening. Beats watching grass being mowed. It's awesome Enjoy2 points

Welcome along @Jaycob. As Santa07 noted above, we prefer specific topics. Feel free to join in any of the topics currently going, or start a new one if there's something new you want to talk about.1 point

Yeah obviously not for Lost Gravity... that was just an example of a Mack ride that has some crazy twisted track. Perfectly plausible that it's for Movie World's coaster however. If you figure that they work on one project at a time and that they've been sending track as soon as it's finished, then what's showing up now would have been at that stage late last year. The most interesting thing to me is that it shows how single spine track is connected to double spine on the far end.1 point

You pay at a window in the queue just before the station and they give you the gear and talk you through the process.1 point

Got to have a chat to Emily Pickett (who owns TPA) and she gave me some information about their newly refurbished Super Turbo It has been refurbished by her son. A showman over in the US is currently refurbishing one as well, and used some plans given to them by the Picketts. Emily doesn't know when it will debut or what shows it will do, but it will definitely do the majors like Sydney and also regionals. The ride is currently sitting in TPA's Farm Also, quick review on the 2 new rides at this years show. The Beast: Wow, what a sensational ride! Great airtime and amazing force down the bottom. Definitely a great purchase for FJF. Turbo Coaster: This is Chant's newly refurbished roller coaster, that was bought as Python Loop. The ride has been given a new coat of paint, and it looks absolutely stunning. With motorbikes with dummy's placed all around the ride ( I'll get a pic tomorrow as I'm working most of the show). The experience, however doesn't at all compare. It was ridiculously rough and the only redeeming factor was the insane ejector airtime as I was sitting in the back seat. Also, I find it funny that they we're running 3 trains, when most of the rides on the Gold Coast only run 1 or 2, 😂😂.1 point

Thanks for the update @Theme Park Girl, plenty of progress since i checked it out a couple of days ago. Those orange pipes where the station is, were installed a couple of weeks ago, and are for the electrical systems for the station. Also good to see they are really protecting those trees by supporting them, unless I'm mistaken and they are the relocated ones. Either way, glad MW are keeping them.1 point

I'm interested to see some brakes, yeah, I know possibly the lamest thing to want to see from a roller coaster but I've never seen a brake run separated from a roller coaster and just have an odd itching to see what it looks like. HEHE!1 point

So, had a random nostalgia-gasm thinkin' bout this ride the other day, yup just thinking about it, but seriously what is it/where can I find it or a version of it anywhere else in the world? I know the Australia's Wonderland page says the ride type is a 'Sea Panic' but googling that came up bupkis, *screams into the void* "MOAR INFO PLS!" Linky for those interested http://www.wonderlandhistory.net/content/hms_endeavour P.S. I'm drunk. P.P.S I'm always drunk1 point

A world first at what, boringness? Yeah, I don't really like GL, but that's another story and no need to debate But seriously what was it for, the first hill being over vertical? And yes I think the branding is important - surely they aren't building one that falls just shy of Hypercoaster status, that would be a massive "wtf?". Yes the difference between 60 and 61m would make sfa difference to the ride experience, but being able to claim Hypercoaster would be beneficial - it just sounds big and fast. And not to mention Mack being able to claim it as one of their accomplishments in design and construction.1 point

The easter show line up has just been posted, including some new rides. So, here we go. Coca Cola Carnival Alien Abduction Space Roller Crazy Spinning Coaster Pirates Revenge Psychodelic Motor Racing Simulator (NEW) Xtreme Magic Circus Rock 'n' Roll Sky Flyer Skymaster Wheel Slingshot Speed 2 Wave Swinger Crazy Cars Dodgem Cars Mayhem Manor - Escape of the Zombies Mega Drop No Limit XXXL 9D Cinema Freak Out Haunted Hotel Rock Star Zipper The Beast (NEW) Nitro Coaster (NEW) Breakdance Cliff Hanger Power Surge The Spook Avenger Kids Carnival Rockin' Tug Sea Circus Wave Swinger Adventure Island Family Log Flume Samba Balloons Carousel Cars 4 Kids Mini Chairs Kite Flyer Animal Kingdom Jungle Safari Super Slide Wacky Worm Family Coaster Jurassic Coaster Jumbo Flying Elephants (New?) Fantasy Cups Free Fall Outback Monster Trucks Other High Country Pony Rides Mini Railway Kyle & Jackie O's Haunted House Star of the Show Royal Double Decker Carousel Alpine Express Overall, a pretty good lineup. I think some rides will end up getting kicked off to make room for new rides. Interesting seeing Freak Out and The Beast there at the same time, although I have a hunch that Freak Out will get kicked off. Shame we didn't see Turbo there, oh well. Maybe TPA's have a little bit more work to do on it before debuting it to the public. Also, I'm pretty sure that the 'Nitro Coaster' is the Python Loop that chants bought, unless it's one that's been imported under the radar. With this new addition, we saw Taipan kicked off, which is a shame as it's been attending the Sydney Show for quite some time.1 point

Hi Jaycob, The ride iteself is great, but this topic isn't needed whatsoever. There are already multiple topics very similar to this. All you have to do is search the topic that you wish to research and go from there, try and avoid making Mega-Threads like this.0 points
