Latest piccies ☺️ They're currently working down the end near the Topgolf compound. Also got to say a brief hello to one of the Mack officials who was standing nearby, and compliment them on their handiwork haha ☺️👍15 points

They've had a busy afternoon, and really looking forward to this airtime hill turn (whatever it is)9 points

Just for those who don't live locally can get even more of an idea how huge this thing is IRL, this is the new view of MW from the other side of the M1 lol... Oh, I could also see that they were lifting another track part up with the crane as we were driving into on the M1. So should be even more track progress to share for whomever gets the next lot of photos ☺️8 points

Craig Davidson has made good changes at Dreamworld, like giving a lot of attractions and areas a much needed face lift. He's worthy of some serious recognition in my mind given what he's achieved and what he's endured in his tenure.3 points

I'm old, I still think Arrow track is where it's at3 points

Visited MW today for the first time since the development went skyward. Whilst waiting to ride GL I noticed Paint marks on the grass that extend across from the Observation platform all the way East toward the new Coaster. I wonder if we will see another raised platform placed here?2 points

That wood around the door looks new. Why would they do that if they plan to tear it down?2 points

@xRazzBerryx something like this, so what is in the bottom hand corner is what was installed today:2 points

Cement moulding for the new theming on the outside of the building has begun ☺️👍2 points

Maintenance workers spotted working on the Wipeout today. Definitely looks like improvement work, as opposed to demolition work lol... I'm confident it will reopen, despite its reopening date being pushed back a couple of times 👍 The orange paint on the supports is now gone: They are also repainting the path leading into Ocean Parade: Also just a random observation I made that the Mine Ride exit is no longer completely barricaded off anymore:2 points

Great photos! Really looking good! Did you manage to ask any questions for the Mack dude?2 points

So i've given up trying to change and update the predicted dates I have on my fridge. it currently looks like this:2 points

Yes, the new supports show, that the twist will be way less high than i expected it to be.1 point

Sofar @docoaster has hit the nail right on the head with his digital theory, both with track style AND location! Impressive stuff. I'm keen to see if he's managed to predict the rest accurately as well 😆1 point

Yeah, I don't think it's coming back anymore If anything I've only heard rumours related to possible removal and replacement of the ride/mountain. Unfortunately the incident last year would have well and truly buried any plans they had to reopen it, which is a shame as it did look like a very real possibility at one stage. I think it's location, it's age, the fact it's another 'in house' ride (which seems to be an iffy issue as it is with the public, given Viking's recent closure and also the delayed reopening of the Log Ride) and the expenses that would be involved in its restoration are all factors that work against it. Ive pretty much given up on all hope that Eureka will see the light of day. It has just become another casualty in the overall aftermath of everything that's happened.1 point

When I think of Ardent & DW I think of 3 things. 1. Since Ardent acquired Dreamworld it has been a Robin Hood venture. 2. Ardents investments into DW has always taken the minimalist approach. 3. You can only squeeze so much juice from one orange. As an enthusiast, I’m always wanting the most out of our parks and after a few years of Ardent controlling Dreamworld I came to the realisation, Dreamworld would never deliver me a decent coaster. For this reason, for many years I have wanted Ardent to sell DW. I might now finally get my wish but looking at the current buyers I am very apprehensive for this to happen.1 point

This photo scares me the most with the button labels on the suspended loop coaster.1 point

You can also see if as you are coming along the M1 from about oxenford exit. And once the lift hill is constructed, you'll see it from even further away1 point

Merlin would be the best outcome, but the only place that option has come up is here when we write what we wish would happen. The talk for a long time has been Ardent have been looking to sell Dreamworld, so the current reports aren't that surprising. Having looked at other Songcheng parks if you had any control of the situation you'd like to keep them the hell away from the park. However, I'd obviously rather see it run as a theme park rather than turning into housing. Seems to me that with the value of Dreamworld being at it lowest point ever, now is an odd time to sell.1 point

You should next time have a nice casual convo then quickly ask "what's the name me this ride again?" and trick them into telling you 😝😝 no but really thanks for all the great photos. I follow your Facebook page and it's great we have someone down there regularly giving us constructions updates. It's much appreciated!1 point

Haha nah sorry, as tempting as it was (and as it always is whenever I've had a brief discussion with any of the construction workers) I always bite my tongue. Chances are they aren't gonna tell me much anyway - I wish 😂1 point

Ok mate, we get it. you don't have to put Adventure Worlds AW for every post.1 point

@Theme Park Girl I also read an editorial back in March about Garry Weiss buying shares. "Share raider Garry Weiss purchased up about 5 per cent of the company's stock back in March as a possible prelude to forcing board and management changes." "Garry Weiss is known to buy a strategic stake and purge the board and management as part of a strategy to lift performance and the company's share price." Garry Weiss removing Deborah Thomas may be the easiest way to increase share prices.1 point

I actually prefer Intamin's new track style over the old one... the double-spine makes the coaster look a lot more beastly than their older type. B&M track fits into the same boat for me. The older Intamin track and Mack track certainly don't have the same boldness as other track styles, not my favourite but any rollercoaster track looks fantastic in some way. I am with @Skeeta on the hybrid track, it looks fantastic on pretty much every coaster RMC has made. T-rex track looks awesome too. There's something just really nostalgic about Arrow track.1 point

So yeah, this maybe needs it's own thread, but since I can't move old posts, apologies in advance for continuing it here, can it maybe be split off to "What's your preference of track style"? Personally, I'm comparing these styles of track. To me, the Mack track looks more manoeuvrable and faster. However, to me, the B&M looks like it would take up more of the skyline due to its thicker track and thereby make it look more imposing from the ground. I wouldn't say it looks "cheaper" in any way. I'd assume in monetary value, the less steel would actually make it cheaper to construct, but it doesn't look "cheaper" in the shitty way. It's kind of like comparing a sports car (Intamin/Mack) to a heavy haul truck (B&M). Both are impressive in their own rights.1 point
-
Yeah I don't feel like the B&M track looks more impressive. Not unless it's a massive flyer or dive coaster. I think the Mack/Intamin looks very photogenic and 'faster' Not really sure where anyone is getting one looking cheaper than the other from.1 point

I didn't know the rules were so strict as to what can and can't be posted. It's a coaster of similar length and height built for a similar reason. Of course the actual ride is going to be more similar to Mack's other hyper but there's only one of them in the world to compare to. I put it up a length comparison, as that's what we were talking about, not a layout comparison. Just trying to showcase the actual scale of this thing being built. Goliath has a ride time of over 2 minutes if you include the lift hill. The Mack will likely traverse its layout faster but it just gives you more of an idea of how massive this thing is.1 point

I wasn't able to spot the actual numbers of the last pieces but I've kept track from the pieces I do know the numbers of. Currently installed track starts at #49, ends at #61. Photo: @Brad2912 Photo: @Theme Park Girl Any chance we could see a few of those piece number photos? I think I may have found something interesting happening with pieces 105 & 106, adjacent pieces may reveal more information.1 point
