Well here's my update, and some new things we hadn't noticed yet. Along with the completed turn around point, new supports are going up, which appear will twist under and then back of the track. Some supports further down are installed, as well as some down the narrow run (around the lift hill area) and near the brake run. Very tightly twisted track has arrived. More stair pieces have arrived. And there are also some very thick columns.24 points

Took a couple of quickies driving past yesterday of the Topgolf site... nothing really exciting to report, although they are making the giant wall blue:4 points

Quick! Someone start a thread claiming it's never going to open again!2 points

Looking at the skyline of the park and everyone saying it will be the height of batwing at 200ft. Now its hard to imagine 200ft lift hill out the front of the park. Batwing (200ft) as a comparison is further back from where the lift hill will be and therefore looks smaller. So I have done a quick Photoshop and doubled the height of Green lantern (108 ft) give or take a few ft and doubled it in height to show where the lift hill height will roughly be.2 points

I just wish they would remove it, since they announced they would shut down TRRR the whole area has nothing, it's a big area at the front of the park where they could definitely build a new ride or even a new themed area and just rename the buzzsaw. In any case I hope something happens sooner rather then later.2 points

they might as well finish what the storm started now they have no excuses now not to take it down.2 points

OK, so I've done some digging this evening and managed to find out some more info in regards to what the hole in the Mountain is about. If it's true, it's not as exciting as initially thought, which is a bit of a bummer! 😕 Ive been told it's aftermath of damage done by ex-TC Debbie when she paid a visit last month. I hadn't actually noticed it until now, when @Twilight Zone messaged me and brought it to my attention as apparent evidence of early removal work. I'm sorry for the false alarm, but yeah... the only demolition work done here was by some serious rain and gusts of wind lol. That all said, I still think it's a worthwhile topic of discussion... it will be interesting to see if they bother to patch the hole up or not. I think this will be a big indication as to whether they intend to keep or scrap the mountain in future? Esp since they recently added that new door frame, as per @Skeeta's post above 😮2 points

Supports are likely to be on location, piece number 9 in one of my above photos is quite large and multiple of them, so I'd say that is for a high section of the lift hill. But to my knowledge, no track is on site yet1 point

The shaping looks quite smooth and comfortable.1 point

Jelly fish are definitely not the only animals sea world doesn't have. If they were to get a jellyfish exhibit, I would at most imagine it to be a couple of tanks added to current Creatures of the Deep indoor area, not a replacement for an entire area of a park. Sea world has really been missing a basic aquarium exhibit since the one underneath the current animal adventure bookings disappeared a few years back. I would like to see an exhibit showcasing smaller aquariums of varying types - from the reef (Typical nemo/dory stuff kids love), deeper water animals (octopus?) to freshwater wetlands (maybe freshwater crocs). Ultimately though I hope it becomes an expansion of the current Castaway Bay area with a few pirate themed rides to make it a spot people want to seek out and see, not just an area they stumble upon on their way out from the dolphin show.1 point

Come on @Theme Park Girl you don't sound excited. You can see in your pictures that they have started the construction of the TopGolf building in the background.1 point

DW does have boxes for all the rides that need them, and so does MW, except for SE, which I agree, should have free lockers for pass holders.1 point
-
If MW want to increase the prices of their annual passes (by a fair bit), there is one thing they should definitely do. Include free (or discounted) lockers. Especially at MW (Dreamworld you can get by since they actually put boxes on pretty much all of their rides).1 point

They said the VR replacement is 2 years away. They never said anything about other attractions.1 point

He has assumed that it's for the Vikings Revenge replacement, which is two years away. Yeah, doubt that.1 point

Those are pretty rubbish discounts though. At Dreamworld the 10% discount applies to what I want it to apply it to, not one product at one outlet. Ditto with the one retail product. I wouldn't call it a discount on F&B personally, even though TECHNICALLY it is.1 point

Just a thought. If they were taking down the mountain already, surely there would be scaffolding visible around this area?1 point

I personally don't classify photos as merch. Merch is things you buy from the stores. Photos are an extension or add on to a ride imo. Id also say with a decent amount of confidence that photographics would be a different line to merch on VTP's P&L. yes, a burger is food, but it's one option in the park amongst many others. I'd generalise to say you don't get a discount on food as well given it's only available on one option. DW gives pass holders discount to food, everywhere.1 point

So were you behind the stupid track photo too or just thought you were funny?1 point

Harley Quinn wouldnt work as a huge hyper in just about every where else in the world. But in the Gold Coast it would be great. Harley Quinn is portrayed by an Australian actor who I believed lived or lives (correct me if I'm wrong) on the Gold Coast. Maybe some signs would be needed in the qeue to explain this, but I see it working well. For a park themed to movies, having a huge actor from the same area as the theme for your major attraction doesn't sound like a bad idea.0 points
