So yes, this is probably a bunch of photos all seen already, but eh, have some full res shots. Most of these are 5760x3840 if you open them full size. Here is the (at the time) latest piece of the puzzle. Part #18 I imagine we're going to see a substantial amount of photos of the coaster train travelling along this section of track. Some more twisty goodness (please excuse the shadow of the fence). Another shot of the connection points for the track segments And while I still prefer the look of a B&M style track, there's no denying this is one sleek looking coaster. Just look at that incomplete section there and the angle and twist it's going to take to throw you back the other way. And finally, you'll have to excuse the editing on this one. It's a GoPro shot that I was attempting to fix the fisheye distortion on as I didn't have my wide lens with me. Just gives a bit of an indication of the whole thing as it stands currently.15 points

Big post here. Sorry (not sorry). I feel like this week's construction (and forums posts) have been coming thick and fast, so I wanted to respond to various posts in the one thread. Monday: This image by @themagician (who visited the park almost daily and uploaded many pics - thanks!) of piece 66 is part of the diving turn, for those playing jigsaw. Remember, @rummyplaced piece 53 at the top of the Stengel Dive. Tuesday: @themagician posted this comment about @docoaster marrying installed and projected track (into the s-bend track), which prompted me to revisit their entry in the Design the Coaster comp. I noticed they used the foundations to suggest the next element in the forward direction of the coaster was a zero-g roll. I was not expecting assembly to progress that far this week so I was prepared to wait and see next week if @docoaster was going to be right. I was busy with work & family over the next few days, and didn't check the forums much. Wednesday: This image by @Theme Park Girl - was the first time I longed to see the train in motion of the track (turns out to be one of many pic updates from you this week, thanks!). The curve had me feeling like this. Thursday: @themagician posted the above pic, very similar to @Theme Park Girl's, but with progress showing the track now joined to the top of the turnaround. A perfect photo. GIF made below with pink - sorry the generator didn't have a 'magenta' option. Another from @themagician was this: I measured the middle piece of track to about a 135 degree rotation - meaning either an overbanked turn or part of the zero-g roll. The mounting point might help explain - honestly I'm not sure myself. [edit - turns out it's neither!] Friday: @Skeeta posted a pic by TPSN, and @themagician posted something similar: This is an angle I really want to photo/video the train moving towards camera. themagician also posted piece 81, but with 61 being part of the turnaround's dive, this must be going in well after the s-bend, maybe the last piece of the left-hander under the top of the Stengel Dive. themagician also posted this image - it looks to be the rest of twisty the element they posted on Thursday. I am in agreement with @xRazzBerryx - @docoaster's zero-g prediction looks about right. @Ryande16 then goes on to post what I was thinking, albeit calling it a corkscrew. Today, Saturday: @Theme Park Girl posts more awesome pics - the crowd shot especially. I want to stand right there on its' first day and watch for an hour. Then @themagician posts this angle: I must again respond with my matrix gif. Such a good piece of track - and it's not one even of the main elements! The train will most likely have completed only one (two at the most) airtime hill by the time it reaches this area, will it be carrying too much speed to execute a non-inverting loop? Seeing as though Soaring with Dragons in China does it straight after a LSM launch, perhaps not..? 42 is part of a non-inverted loop...?!?!??!??8 points

Because it's almost impossible to get the concrete perfectly level and also the support might not be 'perfect' so the base might not sit perfectly level anyway. The nuts 'under' the support can be adjusted to level the support correctly. Once it's all said and done the space in the middle will be grouted so the support does effectively 'connect' with the concerted. Does that make sense?7 points

@Glubbo I was thinking something along the lines of this: It's just a vague guess based on a couple of little things: The footings around the area indicate something tall, many of them appear too 'alone' to be part of the helix-looking cluster of footings. A zero-g would be too far back from the Stengel for many of these footings to be of use. The twisty track twists left. If you look at the footing placement a theoretical loop would transfer right. Non-inverting loops with left-transfer roll to the right at the top, right-transfer loops roll left. Additionally, with the track rolling left a theoretical zero-g would transfer slightly to the left. While possible, it's hard to see how this would work with the footings. Also, a zero-g would presumably have to be rather high to compensate for speed and there's not a whole lot of room in a straight line there. Just including @docoaster's satellite overlay to explain my thinking with the footings. In the yellow and blue you can see the theoretical right-transfer loop. The red on the far left could be a potential approach for a zero-g but considering the proximity to the first drop, and subsequently speed, this seems unlikely. All this is very speculative, it's just that the twisty piece having the number 42 has really thrown a spanner in the works. I'm just racking my brain as to what kind of element would make sense of both the footings and track, and not having a whole lot of ideas. Exciting times ahead!5 points

So long as the cross sectional area of the bolts is equal to the cross sectional area created by the wall thickness of the support column tube, it's all good.4 points

I agree and thats why Suicide Squad overall is negative title for this huge ride. I do like your Battle for Metropolis Idea, Bring good and bad to this ride and make it the ultimate showdown. Maybe it'll have two trains, with each cart representing characters. one the Justice league and the other the Joker, Lex and the gang. One ride you may be on the justice league cart fighting as superman, the next your one the villian train in the joker cart fighting for evil. Sounds campy, but most ride storylines are.4 points

See first post I thought was a joke, now I think you may need professional help. Giant Drop did have brakes at the top on the Eastern side, which is totally not something you remembered wrong. Any more talk about tot pausing at the top will be deleted.2 points

Ok so we all have our guesses on what the ride will be. Personally I believe it was to be Suicide Squad. But as the movie was not well reviewed and with the incident at Dreamworld, Suicide Squad as the theme is in very poor taste. Plus the park already has 2 villian themed rides, we don't need another. WHO IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Wonder Woman would have been the smartest choice if the ride had burgundy red supports and a yellow track. This way all major players in the Justice League would have their own rides and the skyline would compliment this Justice league handsomely. the ride is schedule to open in September. This is between her solo movie and the Justice league film. She is the most exposed DC character this year and therefore the easiest to market. Plus with the rumoured loop the ride is getting, this would have looked amazing as her lasso of truth. WHO IT MIGHT BE. Honourable mentions do go to: The Joker: Although popular, he is featured heavily on other rides and Shock Therapy is basically his ride. The supports would also need to be green (unless the train will be). Bizarro: Would be smart to rival Superman Escape with a worthy opponent. But he is not mainstream enough and magenta is not the right purple for him. As we haven't seen Superman in the Justice League trailer, Bizarro could make an appearance and authenticate this theming. These two characters have a number of rides around the world based on them and this could be a move by Village Roadshow to bring Movie World into line with the larger parks that have DC theming components. WHO I THINK IT WILL BE. But the character I believe who is one of the most deserving characters to herald the new ride is....Catwoman. 1. At the moment the current costume they use in the park is from the Arkham video games seen below. http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/arkhamcity/images/b/b0/Batman-arkham-city-catwoman-cleavage2.png/revision/latest?cb=20150524212149 The coaster matches her, with the grey suit (supports) and magenta goggles (track) it's a perfect fit. 2. She is the only DC character in the Star Parade that does not have a ride based on them. 3. She remains to this day one of the more popular DC characters, having had 2 successful portrayals in film. And in The Dark Knight Trilogy she ended up helping Batman and saving Gotham, giving her a hero status. 4. With the rumoured Gotham City Sirens movie to feature a 3rd incarnation of the character she will again be proven popular and the longevity of the theming will be in tack. The only problem is see with the theming being Catwoman is the sexism and feminism complaints of having Movie World biggest ride being centred around a female. An idea for the theming could be you are Catwoman and have just robbed a jewellery store. So you need to escape. This works perfectly with the ride leaving the park acting like she is escaping. OR you could be batman trying to catch her and bring her back to the store/ police station. Keen to hear thoughts.2 points

Yes, but the post I was referring to was implying that was the interest from the general public which enthusiasts are, but in this case it wasn't a random occurrence.2 points

More pieces in place. These were from earlier today during the Parkchat viewers meet, so there may be a few familiar faces (or figures lol) in them. Sorry if there's any double ups from the last lot shared by @themagician, it's hard to keep track of what's been covered and what hasn't. But yeah. Enjoy guys π Still waiting for a support to be installed here lol: The brake run at the station: Looking amazing from a distance β€οΈ2 points

Are you sure you aren't confusing with the cable guides. The mag brakes for the fake out drop aren't there. If they were, they would be in the way and slowing every car. Ah well, you can take a pic for all of us if you are certain1 point

Pardon the rudeness, They are clearly visible if you are at the right angle or height, and if you are on the ride you can actually see them.....I recommend sitting on the end rows ( You can see them heaps clearer that way).1 point

I think this could be a perfect oppurtunity to make it a Sinestro coaster. If they put the entrance in between JL and GL, then they could shorten the GL queue so it lines up with the new hypercoasters queue. This would mean they could market it as "pick your side, hero or villain" sort of thing. I think that would be awesome1 point

Or perhaps one 'Batman' themed train chasing out a Villains one? -keeping in mind Superman doesn't need Gadgets1 point

Done some researching, shazam(ing?) and spoken to some people all of which confirms what TPG and djrappa have said... The music is commissioned by VRTP specifically for their shows and attractions like GL, AA, Imagine/Affinity, HWSD...1 point

Lol I bet MW is reading this forum and thinking "yep everyone is so off track with this theme"1 point

I think you may have just ruled out the common theory of a (standard) loop immediately before the stengel - first piece of the current track is 49. The twisty track appears much like it would be found in a zero-g roll, although I wonder if we just might get a non-inverting loop - that footing outside the fence makes me think something really tall is going in that area. @joz did say there's a couple of big changes not yet guessed1 point

Love this curve, so cool. Thanks for this higher quality image, that sharp twisting piece is 42.1 point

A few more track pieces were installed after @Theme Park Girl update (great photos by the way), and is now starting to head up towards, but I imagine (by the placement of the footings) will be the corkscrew element of the coaster, as seen on The Flash. And along with this, I also noticed that a few supports hadn't already been installed before the track. Something I also want to have, and this is just a thought, based off the remaining footings in this area, and I now do believe there will be a massive loop (like Flash), and will be in this part: My reasoning is because of the footings surrounding the installed track, the distance between some, and for me, nothing else makes sense yet. And this piece is outside of the fence, meaning the support coming from it would be tall, so this would go to one of the higher points of the loop1 point

Unfortunately Village doesn't have a low friction mode built in on this one.1 point

I love seeing this pic, not just for how good this coaster is looking but seeing the crowd of people watching the construction. If Movie World was smart they'd be capitalising on this interest from the general public rather than being as silent as they are.1 point

Because unlike the park in Sydney they don't have around 5 months which they can go through and perform maintenance on it if needed. Don't see why the wave pool is being treated different to any other slide/attraction at the park when it comes to maintenance.1 point
-
Yeah, it has been off the park map since the park reopened. It's because it isn't available to guests, and the park knew it wouldn't be for a while, so they took it off all the maps. However it's still shown on the website because it isn't gone forever, and DW have confirmed it will be reopening, we just don't know when1 point

Was there ever a reason for the closure of the aquarium, because despite being relatively small and hidden, it was really nice, and a good way to enjoy a wide variety of fish and frogs? You do make a good point, and agree they should bring something like that back, adding in jelly fish, octopus (that would be cool) and a range of other creatures would be good. Castaway Bay for me is probably one of the best themed areas on the coast, and is really a hidden gem because it doesn't stand out, and you do really only notice it on the way to the dolphin show, because not many people venture down that end of the park. So maybe some sort of ride/attraction would be more than welcomed.1 point

Maintenance workers spotted working on the Wipeout today. Definitely looks like improvement work, as opposed to demolition work lol... I'm confident it will reopen, despite its reopening date being pushed back a couple of times π The orange paint on the supports is now gone: They are also repainting the path leading into Ocean Parade: Also just a random observation I made that the Mine Ride exit is no longer completely barricaded off anymore:1 point

Like I said, the theming is probably Suicide Squad and it will most likely be Suicide Squad. The delayed revealing of the theme is clearly to distance itself from the Dreamworld incident. It was just an observation that I made today. If VR needed a quick theming fix (as painting the coaster would look like they had second thoughts on the theming) she is a perfect candidate. Joker would fit perfectly, as he would need a busy and chaotic ride to fit with his insanity, but that is what AAST presents, But they are the only two colours you could use for her. Like I said, it could also be a Catwoman and Batman ride, where he needs to catch her. This photo captures a nice image: That way it is based on two properties and keep everyone happy. Im just trying to think outside the box. Thats all.0 points

Tower of terror II is closed for maintance... 29/04/2017 - 14/05/2017 And also why is Wet n wilds wave pool closing for maintance? Wave pool closed for scheduled maintenance from Monday 17th July and will re-open on Sunday 27th August 2017.-1 points
