  1. Yes as it's working so well at Volcano Bay so far

  2. No doubt folks here will appreciate a more in-depth look so i've attached a few shots. Giving the kids a chance to get up so close to the tigers is a big win, which will no doubt inspire more of the next generation to give more of a damn about conservation. If you want to see the same photos but from slightly different angles, you can checkout the rest over here.

  3. Will depend on the wait, the anticipation once the ride is open and I'm in that queue won't allow me to wait in a longer line than I have to to get my first ride.

  4. Have had a go at adding a few Aussie World photos tonight. Apologies for any errors or inconsistencies due to Drunk Strop being in charge from 10pm onwards. Related question: "Do you need to blur ALL children's faces, or just the faces of the ones you didn't make yourself?"

  5. I'm personally pretty keen to ride the coaster backwards when I get the chance, and I'll definitely go forwards as well. What I don't understand is, if this has never been done before on a coaster of this size, why are people complaining? It may be a really good and actually give quite a different experience than the forwards facing seats. I personally wouldn't complain about it until I experienced the whole ride, in both backwards and forward facing seats.

  6. Try this forum thread from 2005. A suggestion in there said it might have been done by Kevin Ferrari based on overseas designs. A later post by @Gazza does seem to indicate it has some similarities with the 'jet' coasters. Gazza linked to a facebook group, which doesn't appear to exist anymore, but I did a little google to find https://www.facebook.com/pages/Leisureland-Fair/138550036173654 ...and this picture from 'Lost Melbourne' shows the park layout in a melways (or similar) of all things!

  7. As Eureka discussion keeps popping up in other threads, I thought I'd revive this thread. My interpretation of DW's CEO mentioning they're "looking at" bringing back the "mine ride" as: that they're looking at a new ride. I agree with others who have said it's tied too much into TRRR's infrastructure; the track and interior is likely not salvageable; and might not be insurable. If the replacement mine ride goes into the same site, in or around a new mountain, there's now more height to work with. Going by the picture by Parkz below, if the lake is removed with TRRR, the Mine ride could go all the way down to even below the current waterline. Image from Parkz - Original use here. For posterity, here's recent threads that mention Eureka/'Mine Ride': - Dreamworld Focuses on Iconic, Memorable Experiences in 2017 - Storm damage of Eureka Mountain (loosely related).

  8. I mean this with no morbidity - did you look much at the TRRR site, or just enjoy the view that the west side has always dished up?

  9. I got attacked by the yeti thing on that ride back in 1994. When the ride finished I had a cut on my face and blood trickling down, no idea how it happened but the general consensus was the yeti got me - what else could it have been?!? True story.
