When I participated in SW’s survey last year for a new attractions, I only marked jelly because I thought they were talking about something else. SEA WORLD SURVEY FOR NEW 2017 ATTRACTION Giga Coaster Hybrid Coaster Wing Coaster Jelly Exhibit7 points

I don't buy that at all Tim. For a park of it's size - every major investment should be touted from the rooftops. it is "MI-3". You know what the MI stands for right? Maximum Impact. Hell - when Dreamworld installed the Claw, they had one of their biggest marketing \ teaser campaigns i've ever seen.. So as you rightly point out - in previous times under previous leadership we had teasers and trailers and all sorts of marketing hype. This time around it seems we're going the way of VRTP and remaining mum until construction is well underway... oh look - there goes a ball rolling down the hill into a mud puddle.3 points

Hehe the arch support reminds me of a similar situation where a creek needed to be bridged on Great Bear at Hersheypark.3 points

Updates for Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th - the end of QLD School Holidays. Note: next weeks update will be on Sunday as well. Comparison Shot 1 8th July - Roadside Shot 9th July - Not quite Roadside Shot Comparison Shot 2 First Hill/Bunny Hills Station Area Station Platform and the roof are being constructed. Roof is the steel framing visible in the left of the photo. Track and Storage Lot Three track pieces on the road next to the first drop I'm guessing the pieces above are either for the station or the LED Joker face. Mystery Inc. The saga finally comes to an end. The support returns. Fence Lighting Wiring is clearly visible on almost every post now. I'd say the fence toppers aren't too far away.2 points

By chance I discovered a Belgian coaster enthusiasts blog with trip reports from our parks in March 2016. Toggle on translate and enjoy.... https://rollercoastertraveller.com/2016/03/24/1081/ https://rollercoastertraveller.com/2016/03/28/dagboek-down-under-sea-world/ https://rollercoastertraveller.com/2016/03/23/dagboek-down-under-dreamworld/ https://rollercoastertraveller.com/2016/03/26/dagboek-down-under-on-the-road-aussie-world/1 point

On the note of staff having a field day, or off season, or whatever theyre doing that is wrong, they have also not posted on instagram in 2 months, and must be inactive as a message i sent a month ago still hasnt been replied to. My suspicions are there may be some sort of issue with construction or parts etc. And therefore they have no certain date to pitch any trailers towards, or not all of mi3 is present at the moment (special feature or whatever i dont really know)😁😁1 point

The lift hill hasn't reached its highest point yet. What we see now is just the structure for the first drop. But there's many more supports to go in place. And that will take the ride to the 61.6 metre height1 point

@AlexB I completely agree. When you look at MI-3 it's the second most expensive attraction they have built as it's 500k more than Kraken so as you said they should be screaming it from the roof tops. Hopfully they do this ones season passes go on sale. I really don't get why theme parks in Australia like to keep things a secret till the last second. I mean as soon as constructions starts and it's obvious what the attraction is ts pointless hidding it.1 point

I think the marketing department have been on a holiday. There has been nothing on their Facebook page since May. I don't think it that they dropped the ball more the new staff have a different way of doing things. Keep in mind Season passes are not available yet for this season. However once the season passes go on sale I am sure MI3 will be pushed.1 point

Great! Now instead of $5000 from 5000 people, you only need $1000 from 5000 people (i've rounded up to $5M to allow for immediate reinvestment and expansion \ operating costs), or $5000 from 1000 people.1 point

Aww, someone beat me to posting this. Looks like a good replacement for that area. I know it's to replace a temp attraction, but SW really need to do something about the ride position soon. Sure, the park is mainly a marine park and rides are always second. But is the Asian market big enough to sustain the park on it's own without locals? I'm sure it probably is, and yes there's plenty of locals who still visit, but some new rides wouldn't hurt. Seaworld overseas, while more of an entertainment park, strikes a nice balance between rides and animals (ignoring the performing animal debate here). Sea World Australia has 1 dry coaster, 1 moist coaster, Castaway Bay which is not overly ideal for winter, and then the kids area. SW really could use something new, even just a small flat. They've certainly got the space for it. 2019 just seems too far away to just fill the gap with a Jellyfish exhibit.1 point

Thanks for the really nice update. Does this positive trip report mean that they've now sold to VRTP too?1 point

I absolutely had faith that it would be @docoaster, and i'm sorry if my post implied that you hadn't done a great job at replicating it precisely - I guess it was my soft approach at asking why the caption was implying that it was the tallest when all other imagery suggested it wasn't. Nevertheless its all cleared up now.1 point

I'd say probably a big part would be the absence of a certain staff member. I've noticed a massive shift in a lot of aspects of the business since his departure.1 point

Yep... Support main... Lucio / Mercy mainly... Also flex to Orisa / Dva for tanks and Junkrat / Mei for DPS... @Seluketh is a flex... Mainly tanks Reinhardt / Orisa when I heal... Plays a pretty mean Sombra and can be annoying as Torbjorn...1 point

This afternoons update. Seems this weeks progress has mainly been the delivery of parts and construction of the station. Plenty of really large supports have arrived for the lift hill, as well as a few pieces of track. Supports for the final turn back to the station are in place Station is coming along nicely And few more parts around1 point

Looks neat. In general though, I think it's shame when attractions get substituted, I'd much prefer to just add them as new attractions so the overall count goes up.1 point
