Hi all just to add a small update on happenings at Luna Park Sydney. Due to the sensitive location of the park and the strict heritage requirements surrounding it, the planning process for the new investment is quite lengthy and time consuming. That being said, the first new ride, a Wave Swinger, is scheduled to open in March next year. It is currently being built in Europe ( most probably by Zamperla) and will be a 64 seat version ( including 8 double seats) It will have the highest capacity of any Wave Swinger in Australia. Its colour scheme and theming is being designed to match the new building theme's throughout the park and it will help establish and enhance the classic LPS feel and aesthetic. I am not certain, but the obvious spot for the new ride would be on the Flying saucer site, to match this section's new look when it is completed: In other news, the Moon Ranger has roared back into life and has reopened, Its not certain if the ride is till on the open market ( I think this would still be the case) but it is certainly one of the rides earmarked for replacement with the new investment. Works should start on the new theming and buildings by the end of the year.4 points

Just stopped by MW to grab some pics. Looks like the airtime hills out of the first drop is starting to get track bolted in. A few more shipping containers of track pieces arrived but I was pressed for time.3 points

My apologies I still haven't posted much but should have thought more but I do still hope we someday see a big rollercoaster to replace sea viper.1 point

Found this old photo of the track and an article on the tops theme park at myer if anyone is interested in taking a look but sadly can't find information past its closure. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/brisbanes-favourite-play-spaces-remembered/news-story/c3d67787674ead0fc6bbf686c94ec3ab Also an article on Dazzaland theme park in the adelaide myer centre which unfortunately closed too if anyone is curious to read about this. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenger/city/my-life-as-the-king-of-dazzeland/news-story/3eeaf787a2376012722048c69a9ab5f11 point

Whilst that makes sense, is it just the angle, or is this very sung?1 point

World Expo Fun park ran a competition on how many rides you could ride in a night. I thought I was smart and because the park was quiet, I asked the ride attendant if I could stay on the Supernova. I only had to line up a few times the whole night. Before every dispatch the ride attendant would stamp my card. At the end of the night I ran to guest services so sure I would win a prize, I think I even broke into a half-skip. The person asked me what rides I rode. I told him the Supernova and I think I had a big grin across my face. He asked me and what else. When I proceeded to tell him, I had ridden the coaster over 50 times he laughed at me. This is when he pointed out, I was meant to ride every ride in the park once to get a prize.1 point

...but no one said it looked weird. @AlexB simply said he thought it would be a "much better fit" which IMO is pretty valid. It looks like they've erred on the side of caution and chopped off more than they possibly had to to ensue they didn't need to send it off and do it again.1 point

I must say, for all the time taken with that support, I kinda expected it to be a much better fit. As well as one big engineering whoopsie!1 point

I've just attempted to make contact with the Amusement Directory people and the seller of the ride from 2007 to see if they're able to provide any insight into the whereabouts of the train. I'll let you know if I hear back.1 point

Aww, someone beat me to posting this. Looks like a good replacement for that area. I know it's to replace a temp attraction, but SW really need to do something about the ride position soon. Sure, the park is mainly a marine park and rides are always second. But is the Asian market big enough to sustain the park on it's own without locals? I'm sure it probably is, and yes there's plenty of locals who still visit, but some new rides wouldn't hurt. Seaworld overseas, while more of an entertainment park, strikes a nice balance between rides and animals (ignoring the performing animal debate here). Sea World Australia has 1 dry coaster, 1 moist coaster, Castaway Bay which is not overly ideal for winter, and then the kids area. SW really could use something new, even just a small flat. They've certainly got the space for it. 2019 just seems too far away to just fill the gap with a Jellyfish exhibit.1 point

There was a mix of > Forgot I was doing this (told you it would happen) > Had other games to play > Have been busy > Have been lazy But I did make all of maybe 30 minutes progress on this the other day. Mainly just playing with the new custom billboards. This was because there's no better option. And again, I did say it was going not be 100% accurate. Also, it's taken me some time to get around to working on this park. (Also the fact I tend to leave the game running while I do other things for a while).1 point
