Did I like the song? Yes. Did I like his version? Not as much as Gene Wilder Did the music and the imagery go well together? Yes Did the whole 'we can't be fucked putting any special effort into anything so we just want you to imagine that this ride themed to some apocalyptic wasteland with a skull at the front is somehow a training facility for astronauts' thing actually make any sense? No. Did the campaign work as a result? No - and I think its clear by the fact that we are around six months past 'imagination' and we've already got a new song with more energy and a different message.3 points

Yeah their theming they make is very high quality. They don't miss the little details. I believe from what I have read that AW hired Themed Builders as a themed architect consultant who help design and then they build the theming. Then the great people at Creative Works paint it all onsite.2 points

I assume the restraints on the new Gyro will be like the ones on Doomsday, which is good, comfortable too. The Beast (XXL) restraints are good, and KMG do offer the option of outward facing seating, as featured on (also named) THE BEAST at PNE Playland, apparently it wasn't something they were too keen on doing as the park requested the configuration (2 seats face in, 2 out). The restraints on the KMG FREAK OUT, which are a simple lap bar are good, but its a strange feeling. In comparing Claw to the XXL, there isn't too much difference in feeling. I think the XXL gives a slightly more forceful ride, due to the speed and height compared to Claw. Hopefully some PARKZ members will give it a go at this years EKKA. i'll be there working on deck :-)2 points

Really dig their new entrance. Saw it in person last year and can appreciate the effort they made to clean up what’s essentially people’s first and last impression of the park.2 points

I visited on a Friday a couple of weeks ago. Every ride was walk on basically. The attraction line up isn't that good either but kind of what you expect for Legoland. The miniland is great and kind of the only reason I went. Although there were already some non-working parts in that. I will also say the staff were happy and friendly, they'd wave at everyone walking past. It is overpriced at ¥6900 yen (about $80+AUD). Discounted by ¥1000 yen if you buy 7 days in advance. What is also over-priced for Japan is the food and drink inside the park-bottle of coke was ¥220 from a vending machine. Usual is ¥160 and that includes inside the airport. Disneyland at ¥200 is the highest I can recall (although it has been 2 years since I went). I also felt merchandise was overpriced too. So it isn't just the gate price, it is pretty much everything that will be seen as overpriced by Japanese people. Maker's Pier just outside the gate provides plenty of other food options though if you're so inclined to check it out and a standard amusement center. I guess my problem is, if you're an teenager or adult you should go to Nagashima Spaland and for kids go to Japan Monkey Park. I imagine Legoland is also a big negative for Japan Monkey Park and whether it can survive, although they clearly built some new pools recently. Legoland is easier to access than the other two parks though. The other problem is, it is the second best attraction at the station you access it from. SCMaglev and Railway Park is better and it only costs ¥1000-driving a train is way more fun than any attraction at Legoland.2 points

With my best hopes for DW's future, I prefer to remain optimistic about all of these 'minor experiences'. While not earth shattering by any means they will at least all add up to improving the overall Customer Experience. This is something that's vitally important when they have no new Major attraction to promote.. again. Some of us choose to sit in armchairs and criticise current DW Management and it's Owners over the way things are ran. Fact is DW should be investing mega bucks right now on Capital but sadly the REALITY of things are they simply don't have the funds to spend and Ardent won't give the Park what it needs. It's been a tired old scenario playing out for too many years. Right now all DW can do is make the glass at least look half full by making the most of everything they have. For that, I think they are doing an excellent job.1 point

And if you don't want to pay $10 for the VR headset, you can sit in the boat for free while the ride attendant repeatedly says "Weeeeeeeeee" over the speakers1 point

I don't think they will be - Doomsday's restraints are OTSRs and hold you around the waist, the restraints on Loke look more like they hold you by the legs. I disagree on the whole comfort thing, I'm not a big fan of Doomsday's restraints at all, perhaps that's just because the ride attendants often staple you, but they're far from comfortable in my opinion.1 point

Hi everyone, I'm new here but a long time reader of the forums and a huge fan of the Gold Coast theme parks. I live in New Zealand, and unfortunately we only have one 'real' theme park here; Rainbow's End. Although it's definitely not up to the standard of other parks overseas, and is quite small in size and number of attractions, personally I still think it is a great park with lots of potential. I don't see much regarding Rainbow's End here on Parkz, so I thought I would just let you all know about a few developments the park has recently completed. A few months ago, the 'AA Driver's Town' opened in the area where the old cinema 180 used to be. I checked it out a few weeks ago, and although obviously intended for young kids, it's still a good addition to the park and the facades and other details like traffic lights look really good. Rainbow's End also has a new modern front entrance and ticket booths which are a huge improvement over the old front gate where there was only one lane into the park! I also came across this article which is an interview with the CEO of Rainbow's End, Chris Deere. https://blooloop.com/features/going-for-gold-at-rainbows-end-how-kidz-kingdom-changed-the-theme-parks-fortunes/ He mentions how he wants to incorporate virtual and augmented reality into the park, as well as possibly adding a dark ride. If you're ever in the Auckland area, I really would recommend a visit to Rainbow's End because it is a good park; but don't have your expectations too high because it's definitely not on the level of Movie World or Dreamworld in terms of number/quality of attractions. My favourite rides at the park are the Stratosfear (Zamperla Discovery Revolution, does a 360° rotation), the Gold Rush (a small coaster through an abandoned gold mine, with animatronics and decent theming) and the Enchanted Forest log flume (it's a charming little ride ) Rainbow's End still has it's Arrow double corkscrew coaster (same ride as the Sea Viper), I believe it was built in 1986. It still seems to be running fine, but I would be happy if the park decided to remove it and replace it with a new coaster; obviously there's not much land (or money) to work with, but it would be a step in the right direction to help really transform the park. I'm interested to hear all of your thoughts on Rainbow's End and if you have any ideas for future attractions that could be possible for the future. I'm looking forward to being involved here on Parkz! (Photos from Rainbow's End's Facebook page)1 point

For those who are interested, AW posted a progress time lapse of MI3 on their YouTube. Says part 1 at the beginning so we can assume they will be doing atleast one more update before the ride opens.1 point

I agree. Visiting the Gold Coast parks for the first time last year, I definitely noticed how much better they were in terms of ride quality, and overall cleanliness and presentation compared to little old Rainbow's End. Obviously, I expected this to be the case because Rainbow's End is a lot smaller of a park and makes a considerable amount less profit than the parks on the Gold Coast. The log flume boats definitely do need a repaint (both inside and out) but I would hate to see the park get rid of them as they are very nostalgic for a lot of people. Speaking of the log flume, there is some new themeing on the first part of the ride; a pixie campsite, temple ruins and some signage which all ties in to the 'Enchanted Forest' theme and warns riders about the upcoming pirates. (The pixies + pirates thing still doesn't really make sense but it's an improvement nonetheless ) Rainbow's End really needs to offer annual passes though... like surely that wouldn't be very hard to implement and I've never understood why they don't have them in the first place.1 point

Im thinking something like this (The blue part I'm not sure about, but based off the video, they may be using that area) In the video you can see down the bottom there are walls, which I imagine will be for theming of some sort.1 point

There was another near map update on July 9 Overview of the whole area: Closer look at the main track section: Closer look at the station area (You can see that concrete has been laid around the base for the start of the lift hill, as well as the location of the maintenance bay, load/unload area and queue area: And the bridge is now complete:1 point
