  1. Crane just been lifting up some additional parts (Couldn't tell what they were) to the top of the lift hill. Still no sign of the Joker head, but it could be hidden under the shelters. GL is reopening on Saturday, so its going to be installed over the next couple of days. Plenty of trucks are beginning to remove some of the waste in the carpark, and soil and gravel is being moved and placed around the NIL area.

  2. What I don't understand is (and this is just me) I don't know any of the people that died in the accident, it didn't personally affect it in any way. Thats not to say it's not sad. But I don't feel the need or desire to pay my respects to victims I don't know.

  3. Nah @Richard is a bloody con artist and just wants to scam people out of their money. He then throws lavish parties in the Bahamas for himself and all the admin team. The 'Parkz crew' members get treated to a bunch of selfies from their holidays and parties where each of them holds up a sign saying "thanks Ryande16 for the holiday" as one of the membership perks.

  7. Not sure the relevance - but I guess since HKDL isn't yet as old as Wonderland, the jury is still out. (although clearly Disney isn't going to have the same end, i'm just being argumentative for the sake of it) Wonderland's failure was not of the park's making or design, it was a lack of new investment by the new owners who were set on milking it's profits to prop their local properties. (Shit that sounds familiar *cough* ardent *cough*). Theres a lot more to it that I can't go into, but the park was profitable... even with a stagnated \ lack of new attractions, it still turned a profit (call it captive audience if you like).

  11. I hope VRTP take this as a sign that night events at Sea World are never going to work as well as they would at MW with the park's current state.

  12. I doubt they'd close for the day. Yes it happened, but I imagine they would rather move on and focus on the future. Doesn't mean they will rule out a memorial for the victims at the park (If the families wish to have one). There will likely a press release, but as stated, they will push about the safety of the rides and the new experiences they have

  13. A new special dreamworld offer has been released. All entry prices are free, except for the VIP tour, which is still $1250.

  14. Drive past it on the commute daily and I've seen it like that 4 or 5 times before. I've never ever seen a blank board. What you are seeing is remnants of multiple strips of old billboards.

  15. I think it's inevitable that some members of the public will bring flowers in memoriam, whether the park has anything to say about it or not... but agree the park shouldn't organise \ condone \ endorse such a thing.

  16. I think it would be the worst possible idea ever for the park to organise a flower drop or anything with significant visual impact like that, It's just a punch in the face reminder to everyone who is already tentative about the place they HEY WE KILLED PEOPLE. The best thing they could do is unveil a small memorial plaque or something somewhere discreet on the day, acknowledge this in the media (who will want the story that day) and back it up with the safety message. Then they should drop it for good and move on with happy times and stop this need to try and prove "trust us we're safe" every 5 mins like they are doing now.

  17. I will 100% guarantee they've just peeled off the last print in the last few hours and that's the surface underneath the guys will use to bond the new print to.

  23. Hard to believe it's only a couple of months now until the 1 year mark of the tragic incident at Dreamworld that changed everything as we knew it 😢 As much as I know it's far from a favourite topic to dicuss, but with the 1st anniversary of that ill-fated date on the quick approach, I can't help but wonder if Dreamworld are planning to do anything on the day, such as a memorial event for those (hopefully including the public as well) wanting to visit the park and pay respects? Obviously with TRR still standing at present it means that we don't have the previously discussed official memorial site as yet, and I realise this concept is still up in the air, pending the approval of the victims families. So I'm not sure what else could be done. Personally I like the idea of maybe having a flower drop-off spot outside the TRR Gold Rush gate if it's an option. Anyway I just wanted to bring it up to see if anyone else has thought about this, and maybe maturely discuss what possible options the park would have if they did arrange something - which I have no doubt they will, given the significance of the date and its relevance. Thoughts?

  28. Here is a reason for why a new billboard hasn't been put up yet: TWO Dreamworld subcontractors have suffered electrical burns after their crane collided with power lines near the theme park’s main car park. Just after 3pm today three men working in a crane on a Dreamworld billboard on the M1 highway came into contact with power lines. Two of the three men, aged in their 30s, received electric shocks and burns in the workplace incident. They were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. A Dreamworld spokewoman said they had been advised of the incident by the company. “We are relieved to hear, the workers are not seriously injured and are under observation at hospital,” she said. http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/gold-coast/two-workers-suffered-electrical-burns-at-dreamworld/news-story/c64478ae5c884885a74481e3aa927ad1

  30. So is this legit an old campaign where they had a jumbled up billboard?
    0 points
  31. A new billboard has appeared out the front of DW and is a throw back to one of their original logos/billboards, but jumbled up. Don't fully get the idea of it, but something different You can also see they left the reference to the river rapids in, but I suppose the images could be just doing a throwback for the park. Thoughts?
