Could it be merlin? With their recent expansion and investment into Australia in the last 10 years could we see a Legoland park?

Trim brakes aren't always a simple maintenance measure. Particularly on a large-scale, custom layout coaster like this you'll find that the engineering errs on the side of caution when it comes to ensuring it makes it around the course. Obviously you can't speed it up later if it's too slow so you naturally design the ride towards the upper end of speed/force requirements. Considering variables like temperature, wind, rider weight and distribution, cycle times (how much time wheels/bearings have to cool down) etc., it's inevitable that they build wiggle-room into the design that allows them to slow it down if need be. To mount brakes you need track that is perfectly straight. Vertical curvature is generally fine but you can't have any lateral movement for the fins on the track to pass cleanly through the slot on the carriages. So given that they designed the ride with sections of track with this straightness in mind, it makes sense that they're fabricated with the mounts to facilitate easy installation of trim brakes as needed. The fact that these sections exist is definitely not an indication that trim brakes will feature.

Since nobody with media passes is posting OC here are some photos from my visit yesterday. Turn up at opening if you want a couple of hours before it turns to this. The food pavillion was great when it was quiet. $2 mini hot dog. Major events need more cheap impulse items like this. The dog had a bit too much resistance in the skin, like biting a water balloon. The Beast. This was gross.....It spun a bit too fast to be comfortable and went on a bit too long, I'd had enough by the end. I kind of rode this on a whim. Whatever happened to the orginal travelling flume ride, Splash Canyon? When there is a dish in the sink and you turn the tap on too fast. Show bags these days are a rip....The worst example I saw was a $5 smiths chips bag, and it only had 5 bags, and 2 of those were multipack size...That aint no deal. But Bertie Beetle is still only $3 so they got my money. Besides running and swimming, is there a simpler sport? Hundreds of children pressing their noses on the glass admiring the lollies = this. A large sign promoted butter sandwiches, and as I understand it, it is another one of those institutions, but it was just an normal sandwich in a very large sealed celophane bag??? Powered coaster = didn't ride. Gravity coaster = did ride. +1. I didn't go in here. The nice old museum building set against one of Brissys throw n go apartment blocks. I read in the paper they want to chuck some $$$ at restoring it, they should for sure! I didnt realise fruit arranging was a thing, but it is, and I was impressed. Cool haircut. Image > Adjustments > Desaturate The Sky Flyer was probably the pick of the bunch. They really have squezed the ride line up, something is wrong if a zipper or a kamikaze/hangover is not available. Oh well, I'd done enough (1) spin and spews at this point. This was taken from the "star of the show" ferris wheel, which is good because the gondolas are cylindrical and have a pole in the middle you can spin like a tecups ride, so you get an ever changing view. Storm at 110cm is not a family friendly height restriction. Whilst my son has cracked that mark, there is no way I'm convincing a 4 year old to go on a ride that appears daunting in its scale and theming. TBH I wouldn't even try to convince him to go on it, even though he could as it would be too intense for him and likely stunt his ride comfort development (much the same as I haven't taken him on SDSC even though he is height-wise ok to ride. For the 9,999,000th time, there is zero chance of Disney purchasing DW, and only a miniscul more likely chance of them opening a theme park in Australia in the next couple of decades, if ever. I think a Dreamworks IP dark family ride would absolutely breathe life into DW, something along the vein of LTRR. Theme it to Shrek, or a collaboration of characters. Im not sure of the terms of the Dreamworks license though regarding further additions and whether the license is all encompassing for future attractions or a cost per attraction, and what that cost would be. All I know is they need a big ticket item to bring crowds and families back - and that's not "hey look at our cool new* Log Ride & Vintage Cars.

Santa beat me to the punch about Justice League, but I agree with the rest of the article. Storm is not a family ride, the height and drop scares many off.

Don't think i'd like to buy any of them. They're all pretty ugly.

There's some mounting points on the entry climb of the stengel dive, haven't been able to spot any others in photos. At least then the first hill and loop should be unaffected whether they decide to mount trims or not.

There would have been enough computer modelling done during the design phase to determine if trimming is required and where. The track would be designed and constructed with mountings for trim brakes long before now, so adding them after the coaster is tested and run is not the best way.

Disney have it right when it comes to family rides, and why I would pick something like the Wild Wild West log flume ride over Tower of Terror any day. or, better yet, Disney should just buy Dreamworld and convert it into Disneyland Australia. Dreamworld was originally based off of Disneyland anyway so it wouldn't be that hard of a stretch. OK, that may be wishful thinking but a guy can dream can't he?
