Alright, let's get this thread back on topic here. Firstly, g'day @YaBoySlam & welcome to Parkz. Please don't let other members put you off from posting or contributing. As other members have "alluded", B&M haven't reached Australia for a myriad of reasons, but that's not necessarily a bad thing - B&M aren't the necessarily the pinnacle of coaster design & manufacturing like they were in the 90's, in recent years both Intamin & Mack have made unprecedented strides in creating more competitive products than B&M, and I have a lot of confidence that the DC Rivals HyperCoaster will happily be exactly that. As for Dreamworld, i've written about what they could buy at length already. I'd personally love to see them upgrade the Giant Drop in the short term and do something major with a company like RMC in the long term. Not sure who they are? I've thrown a clip down below. It's competitive against Rivals at Movie World and can hold its own, these things just haul ass. As for the rest of you, we were all new here once, so show a little compassion instead of being a dick to new members, yeah? What this place should encourage is funny, intelligent and honest discussion about a hobby we all share, not elitism. So the next time someone asks something you might find silly, be a good sport and point them in the right direction. It's how we build a community of like-minded individuals.8 points

The guys from Mack are experienced. They know that the coaster will get faster over the time - there will be more breaking in. I was seeing that with Blue Fire. They also know that the train will be faster when it`s full of people, while the last videos were made empty. Also: Those trains are very high - because of that this coaster type tends to look slower than it is! And: It hast one if not the best beginning of all hypers. You guys will love this coaster. To those who never rode a coaster with these Mack trains: You will love them. Riding a long and fast rollercoaster with these trains is such a treat. Trimmed or not: Many of you guys will rave about it after testing it - I have no doubt about that!8 points

I didn't realise I was making people uncomfortable. I might have to ride less often.3 points

Serious question, if this wasn't being built by Village Roadshow Theme Parks, would enthusiasts care as much as they do currently about Top Golf? I feel like outside of maybe half a dozen blokes here, this isn't exactly something enthusiasts would go for.2 points

Just worth highlighting that this is the police report and is mostly an account of the day and witness reports. It's not the investigation report/conslusion as to what caused the accident.2 points

Thinking and maybe there should be a F.A.Q. or similar topic posted for new people with a list of commonly posted or suggested things that new members can check out to prevent the lynch mob grabbing their pitchforks and torches whenever someone new joins and suggests things that have already been suggested a million times. Would certainly make the place a little bit more friendlier for those who just joined.2 points

"Possible" new ride/s for dreamworld/whitewaterworld And yet your first suggestion was a B&M. (Thanks @AlexB) Also White Water World is not a single word.2 points

Unless VRTP can buy a second hand B&M for about $12.80, their budget says no to that happening.2 points

God you guys can be fucking rude to new members. This forum has barely any activity because you're all bullies 😂😂2 points

While TG as an attraction really doesn't fit with the enthusiast nature, i think there's a reasonable amount of crossover. Growing up in Penrith, a trip to Panthers was a rite of passage. It was also a destination for many Wonderland cast after a long day \ week (and many cast parties \ after parties \ christmas parties were had there). Inevitably, at some stage through the night, a trip to AquaGolf would be in order. AG was outside the licensed area though, but people still belted the shit out of a few buckets before they sobered up enough to head back to the bar. (Or in some cases, used that time to sober up before driving home). In this regard, I can see TG appealing in the same way. That said, outside the 'small group of blokes' i think it has some appeal - many theme parks \ amusement parks have mini golf, or similar. I don't think its as niche \ outside the box as you think.1 point

AW has an owner with a lot of money. AW is a hobby/philanthropy, its not exactly a cash cow for him. The investment and money wont last forever1 point

To be honest, I think they should be charging more than that.1 point

THIS IS HOW MUCH OUR PARKS SHOULD BE CHARGING ON THE GOLD COAST.1 point

@Gold Coast Amusement Force Why wait until it ended if the video of the GC Show rides was wrong, incorrect and misleading? Note to everybody in the universe. Make sure you quote @Gold Coast Amusement Force post because he edits the shit out of his post after you reply. (lesson learnt)1 point

They should have been deleted straight away considering they are wrong. What would I know. On second thought don’t let the truth get in the way of a YouTube video.1 point

Turns out my theory was wrong. Damn. Wouldn't have minded an Exorcist and Scream maze.1 point

Because if I didn't ruin it for everyone, someone else will. And since this guy made it public someone was bound to stumble upon it soon enough. This year's mazes are: Conjuring 2 From Dusk Til Dawn Halloween SAW1 point

Because when the axis of rotation is below you, you are forced sideways into your seat. When you only have a lap-bar restraint your body will flex at the lower back during the sudden change in direction. The faster you are going through these elements, the greater the forces placed on your body. You'll notice I specifically didn't mention the S-Bend, because the rotation axis is at chest height. OTSRs absolutely limit the impact of those forces on your body by restricting your range of movement. That is why OTSRs are used - to hold your body in place. On a ride like SE they exist pretty much only for the brake run and they are what prevent you from smashing your face against the seat in front of you during the sudden stop. Excessive forces on a ride don't always make it more fun. Do you have any actual evidence to support this claim? Because it seems to me like the ride was designed for trims to be added in two very specific places, and they have only added them in one of those places. In addition, they haven't slowed the chain on the lift hill, which would instantly reduce the speed across the entire coaster without the need for trims and would also reduce the maintenance costs (on the train, track, chain and motor). It almost seems like they want the coaster going as fast as possible over the top of the lift hill to maximise the speed, which runs counter to your assertion, given that the most wear and tear would occur during high-speed and high-force elements like those situated before the trim brakes on this coaster, but after the other mounting point where trims were not added. And the amount of speed reduction from the trims would have just enough impact to make the ride more comfortable, but a negligible impact on actual ride maintenance costs.1 point

I've heard the new attraction will involve blindfolds and a poor marketing strategy...1 point

They were running two trains in the testing this afternoon, and as soon as one reached the brake run, the next one would leave. I recorded many videos, which I've added below. But here are a few photo updates first. Look at it in action A path is being laid leading from the main road and down along side the coaster Landscaping is complete and the carpark is slowly returning EDIT: Here are a couple of those videos of the ride in testing1 point

Superman Escape is widely considered one of Intamin's best hydraulic launch coasters in the world. I'm really lost as to how any part of the ride could be seen as "terrible". Even if DC Rivals is a lot worse than we thought it would be (it won't be, but for this case let's assume it is), it'll still be the best coaster in Australia, no doubt about that.1 point

AW posted this on their Instagram. "As the early morning fog clears...the giant has awakened". I wonder if the queue is going to have no shade/roof. Looks to me as if the whole ride is elevated above the ground level but probably just because the grass isn't completely flat in that area.1 point
