  1. Happened to stumble across a website the park has created for the coaster. Has a bit of information on the construction of the ride as well as side view of the ride with features and usual buy tickets stuff. Has some detailed statistics on the elements of the ride too including mentioning g-forces. https://www.hypercoaster.com.au/

  2. I'm currently at Movieworld and it looks like some theming is going up!

  3. What Village Roadshow's land sale will mean for their Gold Coast theme parks Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet'n'Wild are staying put for decades to come in a newly announced plan to sell the land that the theme parks are located on and lease it back. Click here to continue reading

  4. This is what they did today. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a logo in front of it.

  5. Update from TPSN. The gates have now been removed, and the old road has been reconstructed within the park

  7. Perfectly written, and unfortunately likely to be completely ignored by most clickbait readers.

  8. I actually really like that print they've done.

  9. I'm going to be honest, I'm not really sure how much I like it, but it certainly will be an impressive entrance to the ride.

  10. I'd even go as far to say that it doesn't just look like theming is going up, it actually is!

  11. I wouldn't hold your breath on TURBO, i'd also love to see it back, but when and if it does eventually get out, it will most likely be a TPA Christmas job and other hire spots around Victoria. I got to do early designs for the artwork (middle panels) but its all been put on hold for the moment.

  12. fantastic read - thanks for putting things so clearly because now I have an understanding of why and it seems like a very sensible decision on part of VTP's. DW take note!

  13. To be honest, I think the company would rather remain anonymous, but I know it would have been a major hire job attraction. It probably would have been too old to run at the Major capital shows, but who knows, seeing as Zipper still does Sydney! I wish more classics were at the capitals From what we were told, LPS pulled out, retracting the sale, that's why i'm still confused at to why the advert is still up.

  14. The leaseback options secure the land for the next 90 years. If the company continues with it's successes, at some future time they'll buy it back. The investor earns $6m a year on a $100m investment (with 3% annual increases). the top superannuation funds in Australia are earning 11-12% (but these are typically higher risk investments), whereas a 'capital stable' investment strategy is typically returning 5-6% - so the VRTP offer is right in the sweetspot for that type of investment. Even if the parks go bust, the land value alone would allow the investor to recover much if not all of its money. This also doesn't mean VRTP won't have the option to 'buyback' in the sale\lease agreements as well - Most likely the agreements will permit it either if the investor chooses to sell (first option) or when VRTP has the capital to do so. Bottom line is there is no bad news here. The parks are guaranteed to be around for 90 years (on the basis that they continue to successfully operate that long), the investor makes money, 6-7 million in rent a year is not a huge chunk out of their income (especially when they'll have reduced current debt levels to minimise interest repayments), and in addition the sale of the golden village chain will also inject cash and reduce debt. Sounds like a pretty good strategy.

  15. Saying things like that is how you get posts reported on a theme park enthusiast site.

  16. @Gazza I feel like this is only happening now because you couldn't get Rivals to be your 400th coaster.

  17. Pre October 2017 - "Dreamworld will be fine without spending big on a coaster." Post Summer Holidays - "Jesus, Dreamworld need something decent to compete with Rivals." Feel free to quote me at the end of January 2018.

  19. Mate, you would have said the same thing about a Mack Hyper a couple of years ago.

  20. Nimble I was merely reflecting on the fact that you immediately took for gospel information regarding the park as truth straight away. If you want to be taken seriously on the boards you may need to learn to apply a filter, that's all. Happy to see someone so obviously young with a healthy love of Luna Park though so please do not stop your interest. Just because the park is not adding a Zierer model does not mean that the new ride will be a dud. That's your opinion. I get that you are a showman and that you love Huss rides and that you have certain opinions. I for one, am a little sick and tired of the negativity that is constantly being emitted by you about the park. The park has survived for 13 years in its current form. As a business , it is doing extremely well , balancing the profit of the amusement side with its entertainment options quite well. The park has announced a 5 year plan with a 25 million dollar refurbishment of their amusement offerings. This is cause for celebration and not one to constantly moan and groan about the park. The plan looks impressive and I am willing to wait until it comes to full fruition before we tear it apart. I am happy to offer criticism of the park where it is warranted ( the need for a redress in the balance of more ride and attraction offerings for one) but to continually be a negative nancy about everything the park is doing gives me the shits. Try and be more positive and a little more balanced in your opinions and we will get along just fine. I feel the need to add a little perspective here regarding Matthew's video. Brad Loxley , The Senior Amusement Manager for LPS has contacted me to give me some background to Matthew and the situation at hand. ( Yes he does regularly read the forums!!) This is what he wanted passed on: What LPS and the team are doing here is a brilliant thing- young Matthew has a healthy love of LPS but also amusement parks in general. Please let us all keep this in mind when we are commenting on the video and young Matthew in general. I am not sure if he reads these forums but lets all keep things clean, respectful and above all positive. The support that LPS have shown Matthew can certainly be mirrored here on the boards. Thanks for your consideration in this!

  21. I love how the public thinks... Mishka/Little Bear is going to really suit a 2m / 300kg bear in a few years time. It's like having a pet bird and naming it Egg. It's 2017... they should have just gone with Beary McBearface and made everyone happy.
