  1. Having used Fast Track on Rivals at least three or four times over the weekend I can safely say paying for Fast Track just to get that smug feeling you get walking past an hour long queue on one of the busiest days is worth it by itself.

  2. So after hearing from senior management that there had been some less than wonderful reviews sent through from some of the enthusiast community I came on here to have a look, and what I've found I find frankly quite disgraceful. If the stuff that was sent to management (as mentioned here, I haven't actually seen the letter ) is anything like what has been posted in this thread I'm so very embarrassed and ashamed for our community. I think its very sad to see that a few vocal self entitled enthusiasts are effectively representing an entire community as they are the in your face vocal ones. It seems every time a red carpet isn't rolled out and something tailored to their exact tastes personally that there is this tendency to get butt hurt and demand improvement.
I've made my stance clear before, enthusiasts ARE members of the General Public, NOTHING more. If you buy a ticket to get in, or enter through the front gate, you're not an insider, you're not special, and you deserve no special treatment. The fact that the park does cater to your HOBBY INTEREST is to their credit, and we should be appreciative of anything they do for us. And please not this is from the perspective of someone who DOESNT work for the parks and is in no different position to any of the rest of you.
The fact that any member of management has made themselves available to any of us and listens to our input is also to their credit, and we should also feel privileged about that. What I read above is a big unrealistic whine about things that are barely an issue. I will take the one point I've heard that Rivals FT should have been at night, which I agree with, so it's a bit special. But anyone having a complain that they weren't made to feel special by it not being just makes them sound like an entitled asshat. As for the UTT itself and the Hyped components. This is an offering being sold as a small group fully guided evening tour. One would be foolish to thing it's anything but and that there would be free time to relax in the night. I've done similar with the RIP tour at Universal and it's really packed.
As self proclaimed experts on the park and Fright Nights, it would be clear to someone just how much that is to pack in, within the allocated time and what to expect.
If people want time to experience everything at their own pace they should perhaps step down from their ivory tower for a second and god forbid experience the event a a mere commoner. The UTT offerings are not intended to give you EVERYTHING AND MORE, they are a different way to experience the night. It seems a lot of the complaining is that there is TOO much to do, well geeze shame on Movie World. Remember, this is not something created for enthusiast, it's a product to sell to everyone. That means they have to fill the expectation of someone who has forked out A LOT of cash for there night, and they will expect a full night.
The fact that people are saying that there was too much to do, and that Movie World didn't meet their expectations in the one sentence is just laughable. So please everyone, take a step back, a breath, think about what we're hear for... If it's to have fun at an amusement park with our friends (or solo if that's you're thing too) and enjoy ourselves then let's do just that and leave the bullshit at the door. If it's to feel like some kind of elitist superstar that has gold plated doors open for them at every turn and expects the park to cater to every whim, then I suggest may it's time to find another HOBBY! I think it's great how much the new wave of management at the Village Parks is doing for the enthusiast community and I hope they keep it up, despite the vocal criticism of a small minority.

  3. All Just to clarify my role with GW was very brief given my new role commitments. I had no (zero) input into ride procurement as most of this had been done prior to my arrival (which is a shame, let's leave it at that) The water slides etc are all top notch product from WWW but I would have purchased the theming packages that can go with some products. I had no input into theming either (except possibly the water park element). I guided them on the name change and some operational stuff/POS systems etc. No doubt some of you will comment accordingly when you visit in December (?). Hopefully, I will be pleasantly surprised. P.S. Sydneys Wet n Wild was over $125m and well, um? last time I checked SWWW had the 2nd lowest Trip A reviews tally of any significant Park in Oz. Guess who was bottom? There may be a new challenger for the bottom spot soon! Mark

  6. I don't think that's a fair statement at all. In my experience the park limited Fast Track sales on Rivals to an acceptable number (it was sold out at one point when I went to ride) and the wait time was very small. They were also doing a great job of merging the Standby and Fast Track ques at a fair level. This ride doesn't require lockers so there is no money gouging in that regard either. I think the whole thing has been managed extremely well and the price point is generous even , is completely fair.

  7. You really have to be found negligent to be held accountable as far as fines go. But that doesn't mean negligence occurring in this particular incident, it could be previous actions, procedures or operations too that fostered an environment where something like this could happen. It opens up the people in charge of the maintenance department to being charged too, along with whoever inspected the ride that day, and maybe even engineers who had performed previous inspections and passed the ride if it turns out that there was a design flaw/modification that was even partially responsible. It's not something you can even make an educated guess on if there is no report being made available, because people could be facing not only fines, but real jail time depending on the findings.

  8. I think this is a case where people need to stop criticising the media for reporting facts. We all know they can be shocking a lot of the time with sensationalised reporting of non-incidents, but they don't have to sensationalise this incident, and they don't. 4 people died and we're lucky it wasn't 2 more. You can't just blindly defend Dreamworld as a lover of parks, if they're found to be guilty through a proper process then I have no qualms supporting legal action against them.

  9. Visiting movie world around 2 weeks ago whilst on holidays, I feel that movie world has lost some of the magic that I felt it had when I last visited a while back. Here are some of my improvement points: 1. I think more effort needs to be put into new rides in having a proper storyline, and a immersive ride queue rather than just plonking in some metal railings, shade cloths and a few superhero statues/drawings (i.e: GL, doomsday, batwing, DC rivals). It makes it feel like the rides have been just plonked in their locations, rides feel out-of-the-box/cheap, and reduces the overall experience/magic that is expected of a movie/studio related themepark. 2. The back of the park around WWF and doomsday felt dead when we walked around there during our visit. I'm sure that the current closure of WWF hasn't helped, though I noted many of the shops/stalls in that area weren't open or closed early. - Open/ extend the trading hours of these stalls. - Connect WWF with AA/front of park, to create a loop around the park, to try and pull more people hovering around the front of the park. Replacing AA or adding another attraction on this route in the future would help also. 3. More healthier/lower calorie food and healthier drink options. Examples could include sugar-free slurpee flavours, fresh iced teas, and bun-less burgers. 4. More characters walking randomly around the park, interacting with guests and allowing photo ops. Around closing time some of the characters could hang around the closing gate to wave visitors goodby and provide some final photo opportunities. Finally, trying to stay on topic, I believe that the current WB kids offering should be refreshed/updated, with a few more family friendly (mild/medium thrill) rides be put in the park.

  10. But no one is getting charged for floral tributes? It's confronting, but no more confronting than the car crashes or house fires on the news every day. It's relevant footage to a newsworthy story.

  14. I too want nothing but the absolute best for all the parks in aus; especially Movieworld. It is a park I am extremely passionate about . Growing up and riding the looney tunes river ride, gremlins, batman adventure the ride, wild west falls, scooby doo and superman escape, gave me the themepark bug. These rides are the reason I am a themepark enthusiast.....the story, atmosphere and themeing on these rides were/are truly world class. I know that MW has the ability to produce very high quality, story based ride experiences. Because of the high standard I have seen before, I am disappointed with the themeing for DC Rivals. Such an amazing rollercoaster, deserves a much better theme, story and immersive queue line.

  15. So this was my first video I did on the park back in | June 17, 2016. | I had already been to the park over 6 times before the ticket's ran out. And I tried to scope the coaster out as best as I could. The only problem was, I was with my family and they didn't want me to stay behind for photos, but no worries. So after a few weeks of creating the coaster. | NOTE, I was making the coaster with just a normal track, not a custom ctr/cfr. Then after a week of trying to get a design good enough, I just couldn't get the side vertical bend right. then that's when the internet would come into place. To make the Mumbo Jumbo ctr, you would need like 3 different ctr's in order for it to work. And I will tell you now, it was not easy. So after installing everything all I had to do then was make the cfr, design the station and add the custom cs! So please let me know what you think of my part one park?

  16. I'm still betting on it being a Joker themed coaster, so I'm thinking a predominantly purple track with pink highlights and maybe yellow supports.

  17. Maybe if you actually used you used your mind you would realise it's a joke. How can someone not realise it's a joke. It's so obvious it's not the blueprint. I just posted it for people to have a laugh, but apparently this forum is the bible and no jokes are accepted, atleast 1 or 2 people got the joke.
