  1. Shade sails are all completely installed, and looking really good. They cover the queue area pretty well, and don’t hide the theming. Well done to MW

  2. Whilst you are correct Andy, you might find the Voodoo has a thrilling point of difference over Dreamworld's claw! Both the Voodoo and Gravity Wave will be opening on Saturday 21st of October.

  3. I was at funfields yesterday. You get a good view of the new rides from near the kraken and also going uphill on the Toboggan. I didn’t take my phone in as now with my new Apple Watch LTE I don’t plan to take my phone into theme parks with water rides. Voodoo is basically complete and gravity is just having some final touches. Voodoo just looks like a mini version of Dreamworld’s claw.

  4. I think the biggest fallacy regarding Movie World is that they somehow need to tie their attractions to big film releases to stay relevant. Let's face it, it's a theme park not a museum, being relevant to cultural phenomena is secondary (generously speaking) to actually having a good ride experience. Wild West Falls being the truest indicator of this, a legendary ride originally (tenuously) themed to a flopbuster and thereafter renamed to possibly the most generic of theme park staples, and yet I don't here anyone frantically calling for it to be tied to whatever flavour of the month multiplex monstrosity that's raking in the big bucks. tl;dr, HWSD doesn't need to be Mad Max themed or whatever, it just needs to be good and fun and funny. Like, seriously just make it Police Academy again, who the f cares if it's not relevant as a movie franchise. Last time I checked people were still watching and enjoying the damn thing. stl;sdr; good ride/attractions >good theme/good movie tie-in.

  5. The park is literally called 'Warner Bros. Movie World' though. Also, their slogan is still 'Hollywood on the Gold Coast'. They don't need to constantly be building/retheming rides based on recent big film releases, but it's not really a 'Warner Bros. Movie' themed 'World' if it doesn't have any attractions actually themed to WB movies. The attractions need to at least tie in with the overall theme of the park.

  6. Hey I was curious if anyone knows what dreamworld studios and the big brother house are being used for currently and whether it is abandoned or if the big brother house was preserved in case channel 9 or channel 10 ever need to make an new series?

  7. Well they're trying to get splash taken down but that's for a completely different reason altogether.
