  1. Spot on read there. Thanks Parkz Crew for delivering the hard facts of our beloved DW as it continues to struggle. It's difficult to watch as the progress of development inside is running so slow that the ageing line up of attractions appears to be falling further and further behind. It is becoming sadly obvious that Ardent are deliberately dragging their feet until the Coronial inquest is finalised. I believe this is somewhat of a guise to Shareholders etc that Ardent remain committed to a future DW. Carrying out work on revitalizing Mine ride , Log ride, WipeOut etc but doing it all at such a Glacial pace that the rest of the Park is falling apart around them - all with little to know contingency. Hmm.. My fearful prediction is this is all intentional stalling. A muti-gazillion dollar court ruling would lead to inevitable closing the gates once more by mid 2018 - Only this time for good (at least as we know it today anyway). I hope I am wrong. The only good thing I can see coming out of all this is Ardent is found negligent and charged. They sell off the DW asset and bow out of Theme Parks all together. GC City Council steps in to preserve DW as a sort of Heritage listing, preventing it from ever being anything other than a Theme Park. New Owners buy it for a song, commit sizeable Capital into new Attractions and remove all the old dated crap. The Park closes for an extended time (say a year) reopens all shiny and new.. Guess we will have to wait and see? I sincerely feel for the Staff that have been part of the DW family for a longtime. No matter what the future holds, I hope their loyalty can somehow be salvaged.

  3. Last September, I was in Berlin for this year's Euro Attractions Show as a reporter for French website CoastersWorld. As part of my coverage, I made several interviews with representatives of coaster manufacturers. Here are the first two of these! First, James Swinden of Great Coasters International gives his insight into his company's way of building wooden coasters. I really appreciated his sincere passion for his job, and for a professional still very early in his career, his answers were very articulate and accurate! Second, Sascha Czibulka, Vice-President of Intamin, gave me a 16-minute long interview that really exceeded my expectations! His answers were superb, detailed and very informative His account of how the hydraulic launch system had been created for Knott's Berry Farm was particularly valuable. Really talented senior executive who knows his work very well. If you're interested, there's some more to come: - Maximilian Roeser of MACK Rides talks about the manufacturer's lastest coasters, including DC Rivals! - Chuck Bingham of Martin & Vleminckx discusses the challenges and rewards of building wooden coasters in China. - Chad Miller of The Gravity Group tells us the story of how he became a coaster engineer, and the most important aspects of a woodie according to him. (hint: airtime!) - Peter van Bilsen gives the reasons behind Vekoma's remarkable comeback. I want to thank all people involved in these interviews. The interviewees of course, but also all of my CoastersWorld mates for their precious help in the making of these videos. This was a wonderful experience meeting and interviewing all these professionals, and I hope you'll like the resulting interviews

  6. Having a look today, not much has changed, except more of the roof taken off, bit more of the track exposed, you can definitely see the slight track gradient now that keeps the carts at speed, also spotted pieces of the track on the grass between the wire fence and TOT. Not sure what they are gonna do with em. (Excuse potato phone camera)

  7. If I was the boss of MW's marketing department I would have even gone as far as changing the MW logo to incorporate DC Rival's first drop into it, at least for the first few years of the coaster's operation. The coaster is so major it should be a park-wide takeover type of thing, not just treated as another small addition. Everybody needs to know about it.

  9. That's where you're wrong, kiddo. SDSC is a crowd favourite, even in its current bare state. It's been discussed at length and agreed that the Scooby Doo theme will stay after it goes down for maintenance at the end of the year.

  10. well 2017 fright nights we all would hope for a IT maze but we were all wrong so we got Jigsaw and Halloween maze. which where very good. but every year we will get a new maze so the conjuring maze and dusk till dawn maze will be there next year? Friday the 13th maze went for two years aswell wolfcreek 2 , The evil within maze thay went for two years and got replaced so that's what I think is going to happen to the conjuring maze and dusk till dawn. Jigsaw maze was not ment to be in the same shed as Halloween it was Ment to be in the studios sheds so next year are we getting better jigsaw maze? the entry fee is a ripoff! make it like $45 it would be better as well all the drinks and food you have to buy. anyway had a good night at fright nights.
