Having the vegetarian would be a missed-steak

Had an excellent time with the awesome Parkz people @ABYSS and @Tim Dasco. The place was busy, today, for the second last day of the season. As Abyss said above, Inferno was only doing shots and Chairlift closed early at two (although it did open early as well). Tim managed to sneak in his 150th ride on Goliath. The wait time for Abyss was a couple of minutes and Kraken, probably around 10. It seems Black Widow is off for the season. The staff were in a good mood - and were impressed by how often Tim and Abyss go there. There were lots of first timers going to the park - some people weren’t familiar with the rules. I saw a large group of Chinese people guffawing at the vertical drop on Abyss, the roller coaster. The wildlife area got some love and attention in the last couple of weeks, with some new railings. It looks like Dudley, the emu, will spend her off season near the pond. I got to talk to the keeper, and it seems like they will have an interactive area for the female Kangaroos there, next season. Great to see this neglected area of the park getting some attention. Feeding Dudley was very cool - definitely the gentlest emu I’ve met. Kahuna Cafe was the busiest I’ve seen it in sometime. The restaurant area is something that has been left largely untouched and would be great it if it had a tenant next season. Everyone’s been impressed by the food offerings, like the salads and sushi, imagine how much time and money they would spend if there was a restaurant like Rick’s at MW. If it’s raining in the park, people could hang out there until the skies clear. AW currently has its rapids tube ride, but a lazy river would certainly be welcome. Tim has lots of exciting theories about the next stage of development, but only time will tell. We had an awesome season and can’t wait for September.

Bring back the $200-300 for one park passes! Let's see all the compulsive whingers come out of the woodwork then. $140 is cheap. If you can't afford that then maybe pass ownership isn't for you.

Just been past Dreamworld, and it seems like today is probably the best crowd levels they’ve had since the incident. The carpark was completely full and overflowing. Cars were parks on the road runnning along the front of the carpark, and anywhere else they could fit

You used to be able to buy a decent bag of mixed lollies at the corner store for $1 too, but I don’t see you berating the manager at Coles for charging you $3.50 for a half filled bag of Allen’s snakes. Prices go up... $139 for 4 parks = under $35 per park for a year of access. Visit each park 4 times a year (or as an average - could be 8 times each to MW & SW) and that’s under $9 a visit. Parks are open 7 hours a day - so you are paying $1.20 an hour for entertainment. If that’s “highway robbery” then I’m Elmur Fudd...

We were there during the week, I'm always looking up things on this forum and I read about the flume from its closure post, so with the earth works I thought I'd say something is going on but this park has to do some major investment to bring it back to what it once was It also looks like village roadshow are investing big in movie world, wet n wild and now the three storey top shots but sea world doesn't get a look in

Strip the themeing and you have a basic and boring mad mouse coaster with a weird slow section of track. The themeing is what helps make that ride something great and is what has helped the ride become a “legend” as such. Mention Movie World to anyone that doesn’t regularly visit the parks, and they will probably recall the Scooby ride and Superman. The ride is in an extremely poor state right now, and for a park that calls itself Hollywood on the Gold Coast, it’s certainly lacking anything that makes it memorable.

$139 for 3 great parks for a year? Incredible value. It’s just been too low for too long and it’ll probably take people a while to adjust.

You’re joking about the highway robbery bit, right? Remember when it was $350 for a season pass 10-15 years ago? Imagine if they’d gone up with the price of inflation. We pay $150 minimum for a season pass to Adventure World for a 7 month season. If you go 3 times you’ve already saved on the price of gate entry. If you go once a week, it’s cheaper than visiting your local pool. If you want to see what a real season pass costs, research Disney and Universal.

$139 is a bargain. $199 would even be value for a local. Yes it’s a heap up front for a family - and maybe they’ll introduce monthly payments again on day - but it’s still terrific value

That's less than two full-price visits a year. It's certainly cheap. I just priced a visit to Event Cinemas tonight to see Avengers in VMax (2 Adults, 2 Kids), with two 'popcorn & 2 drinks' combos. Price? $143.40 So, 4 cinema visits a year for a family = 4 annual passes at adult prices.

Those that do not like the midway games at the GC parks it could always be worse... (Six Flags Magic Mountain)
