  1. So I’m down here at the village of Trolls as I’m typing this - Trolls Funhouse is pretty much a funhouse you would find at carnivals, I won’t get into details what is inside the attraction but I’ll say I’m impressed with what they had to work with in the Flowrider shop - The area as of right now is picking up quite a big crowd which is good to see

  2. School holidays are considered to start from Monday (2/7) which is when most things are scheduled to reopen. Mechanical parts also have no concept of date and time, so telling a component it shouldn’t need replacing because it’s school holidays will just fall on deaf gears....

  3. DREAMWORLD UPDATE: Buzzsaw = closed Tower Of Terror = closed but testing all day Claw = closed with multiple seats still locked out Moto Coaster = very slow operation with multiple seats locked out Wipeout = extremely slow operation with multiple seats locked out Pandamonium = closed MOVIEWORLD UPDATE: Dc Rivals = 2 train operation Green Lantern = closed with test dummies on board Justic League = probably 20+ carts on track Superman = 2 train Arkham = closed with a big hole in the wall at the load station Both parks have been extremely busy throughout today probably due to passes finishing today. However it’s quite wrong for the parks to have major attractions closed for school holidays.

  4. Flow rider shop isn’t shut, it’s just more like a storefront with a counter and some things available for purchase

  5. I'm not going to criticise them for closing something that they're not 100% certain is safe.

  7. Interesting. I didn't look at the Ocean Parade list of attractions, I saw that they have removed the title "Zombie Evolution" in the illustration of the building (you can see it is just gray now) so I thought it was going to be closed. Kevil Hill's actual page is giving a 404 error on Dreamworld's website now so something must be happening with it. The easy way to fix the flowrider problem...

  8. It would also be really awesome to see them relocate Flowrider. Now that the shop is closed, Flowrider is even more stupid to have there. It would be good to see then move flowrider to around the Shell area of WWW

  9. The Claw - Most Likely will be open according to plan (2nd) Panda - Will likely be pushed back judging by condition Tower - Probably will reopen during holidays but not according to plan (2nd) Arkham - No chance of opening according to plan. I think for the Buzzsaw, we are probably looking at a reopening date at or around the Christmas period. September school holidays would be nice, but as they have made it clear this is going to be an extended closure, Christmas is probably more realistic. I'm going to Gold Coast again during the beginning of August, so I am hoping that if one of the 3 DW thrill rides that currently have reopening dates are pushed back then they will delay planned maintenance for either Sidewinder or TOT, as these are essentials when visiting Dreamworld. Does anyone know why they would start putting so many seats out of service? And why does this always seem to happen after planned maintenance? (Tailspin was fine before sep '17 maintenance, then had 4 seats out of action after).

  10. Yes. I believe the entrance to White Water World (through DreamWorld) is back through the metal gates which are wedged in between the Flowrider, and the HWSW. Is there a chance that DreamWorld may be expanding the Kung Fu Panda area so it links up with the Trolls Village, essentially making it all apart of the DreamWorks area?

  13. With regards to the industrial manslaughter laws, yup it applies to employees. The brisbane accident at the racecourse where people were crushed under concrete tilt panels is probably more applicable to the laws than the dreamworld deaths, both happened in october and were in the news a lot, which forced the government to look at the laws and add something to make people personally responsible. There are other laws regarding workplace safety and injury to the public though. As ive said before, it all depends on the word negligence. It's kind of like the difference between manslaughter and murder. You can kill someone without planning or direct intent. You may not have meant to do it, but you still killed someone, so its not murder, it becomes manslaughter. However if you planned or intended to kill someone, that becomes murder. They basically have to establish you set out, planned or intended to kill someone, that kicks it up a grade to murder. It's sometimes hard to establish a person calculated and planned out the killing. Same thing with negligence. Being able to prove someone was negligent puts it in a higher category. It can also void some insurances and in the case of professional people, can be the difference between being held personally responsible which brings with it personal liability or even jail time. To prove negligence you have to prove that your direct actions (or inaction) was not only responsible for the incident, but you knew about the risk or underlying issues that could have prevented the incident from occurring, and either willfully ignored the risk or did nothing to address the issues. So, in the case of something like these deaths, if the higher up managers and department heads can be proven to have known about the risk; have ignored previous reports from numerous parties (including audits and staff members) indicating faults, flaws or unsafe operating conditions that need to be addressed; and have been shown to have ignored state or federal standards or policies regarding the safe operation of equipment; of which combined together contributed to the deaths of these people; THEN it brings into the question of negligence and is no longer just a matter of a lot of people doing a bad job. From reading the reports, it looks like the difference is going to be how long some of these people were in the position for and what happened if issues were presented to the operating officers at general meetings. Normally major issues of safety or big capital spends would require someone from the general or operations manager upwards to sign off on the proposal. So if it's true and there were numerous reports on TRR with regards to safety, how far up the chain those messages were presented, and if those people ignored them or decided against the recommendations multiple times; then there could be a few people who might actually be facing the prospect of jail time. Big companies have big chains of authority with each progression taking on more responsibility along the way. But ultimately, often major decisions rest with one person, or a group of people with the same control, so basically someone who runs the park or a board who decide on issues of its operation. So even the managerial staff that worked in their maintenance divisions could have been fighting the same battles to have any recommendations implemented and can't rightfully be held responsible. Could they have shut the ride down? probably, but at risk to their own jobs I suspect. So it becomes a big messy area where people do what is required of them, pass the information on to their seniors to act on; who then pass it on again, and again, etc until it reaches high enough to force someone to make a decision. It's a shit culture that becomes more about making sure you keep your own job safe by passing on the responsibility, rather than actually making sure something is done about it.

  14. Mine was the same. New pass just has the words "Premier Membership" printed on it, and functions exactly like the original membership pass (except hopefully never says it's 'expired' this time!)

  20. Wow that all came together very quickly, and I actually think, visually, it isn’t too bad. Doesn’t look like the best thing, and it is only temporary but I’m sure it will be popular
