I actually don't care how valid or invalid their argument is, intending to ruin a sick kid's day is horrible.6 points

Next time an Indian bloke from Microsoft calls my house to thankfully inform me of the many viruses infecting my computer that he somehow knows about from 16,000km away, and requests by bank details in order to resolve this terrible issue, these shall be the details I provide...5 points

Poor Paradise Country, even Justice For Captives couldn't be bothered with the walk. 😳5 points

No it’s not, but I believe all the parks on the coast have decided to band together in the name of shitty service to provide potential customers with a united front in the war against reliability4 points
-
I think it’s the targeting of kids and, in this case, sick kids that I hate. What would little kids know of the issue? Do sick kids need to be filmed and harassed?4 points

You're spot on Red. There's quite a number of us around Brisbane who use synchronised pixels for Christmas. @Tim Dasco does too. I guess what i'm saying is, if its achieveable for one guy in his front yard, how hard is it really for a place like Movie World?3 points
-
Because it’s f**king stupid. To interrupt a joyous and very special moment for kids with serious illnesses who don’t get much of an opportunity to smile is pathetic and shameful beyond words.3 points
-
If all you have is people arse kissing and saying everything is perfect when it isn't then how is the park suppose to know what they need to improve on?2 points

It'll be open for the holidays but then the theming will be removed up until it's closed again in June for "Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Next Gen Really This Time"2 points

And folks think @Richard drinks the Village Kool-Aid. There's plenty in that POV that's awful. If a park touts incredible, revolutionary project-mapping and a whole new experience and after a year of closures all they deliver is just just meh graphics on a screen, I think people have every right to be disappointed.2 points

Based on? Explain your understanding of the rescue and rehabilitation of sea life, and your understanding of the issues concerning re-release after hand reering, and your understanding of breeding programs to keep near extinct animals still on the planet. While you’re at it explain how you would envisage SW self funding their rescue & rehab programs without the aid of tourists who would disappear without marine animals to see, and where the $3.5m raised by DW to protect tigers in the wild would have come from without tigers for people to see and get an attachment to?2 points

It’s not a poor opinion if it’s fact 😉 In all seriousness, I have seen far worse negativity around here, and Brad’s post has a very valid point.1 point

The bus I was on from Dreamworld to Helensvale station took an hour this evening due to a massive amount of people trying to get into Movie World. They need more nights and less people to avoid overcrowding and massive traffic jams.1 point

They probably get their confusion from The Maze using the term "opening summer 2019"1 point

Dreamworld still have a Gold Rush Country sign even though most of it is gone. Also you can't walk on this path due to construction. "It isn't safe" yet staff are allowed and there is a construction barrier. Also this train gate almost hit guest when the train stops way before at the station. Exhibition Centre out of place in a theme park Lazy river1 point

Well if you kept it open for too many consecutive days people would start considering your rides as reliable, and we wouldn’t want that...1 point

As it turns out, I'm not - for a couple of good reasons; - Copyright law has exceptions for 'Fair Dealing', and in this case is covered by ss 41, 103A which provides for an exception based upon the assumption that copyright owners ordinarily expect to have their works subjected to criticism and review for the purposes of providing potential consumers with information about the works. - The image is reproduced when it was uploaded to Parkz' server, not when it's linked inline. Interestingly enough, there's also an exception under ss42, 103B for 'Reporting News' which sits around the public interest in promoting the free flow of knowledge, ideas and information. That may cover off his use, but to do it needs to be legitimate news and sufficient acknowledgement needs to be made. Misrepresentation of himself as the copyright holder of items such as logos, etc would not be lawful.1 point
-
Well, to be fair, you quoted it too - which is also reproducing it. Fair point - i'm no expert on the intricacies of copyright, you're absolutely right - however i'm not ripping someone else's video, slapping my own logo on it and then republishing it. Thanks for picking me up on that - good to know others have at least some interest in respecting other people's work.1 point

MUCH better than their last attempt, which was a cringe-worthy rip-off of a Warner Bros Movie song. This one looks original, and fun. I do think it's a bit odd that it makes no reference to SkyVoyager though.1 point

Possibly because the TVC would have been filmed like a month ago when shit was still being built?1 point

@Jamberoo Fan the footage is a mixture of Scenic Railway scenes ( at the station) and then definitely interspersed with footage from Melbourne’s Big Dipper , which ran the length of the park and sat adjacent to the Scenic Railway on the far end. The River Caves we’re situated at one end of the Dipper, under the far turn. The Melbourne Big Dipper and the Sydney Big Dipper we’re identical in layout.1 point

That's hardly fair, I don't think I'm the only person that's a bit disillusioned with the direction of Dreamworld in recent years.1 point

The Scenic Railway has a rather simple layout and this footage shows a more complex layout.1 point

Early last year, I posted links to videos of Dreamworld & Wonderland Sydney. However, those links don't work anymore. Don't worry - here are new links (with some new videos!). @Tim Dasco and I headed down to AW last Saturday to see if any rumours he’d heard were true. First up, the entrance to the park had changed, with shade sails erected in front of the main gate. It’s a good idea for people waiting to get in, but it certainly changes the look. The Surf Shack had new pink ropes for its queue race, with silly sayings at the start and end. The animal area still isn’t open. Despite there being a sign telling us the area is under renovation, no work seems to have been done. We did see keeper Amie rescuing a bird from a tree. It does seem to be the end for this area. Tim noticed that the entry building had been painted on the outside, but not the inside. The park was quite busy as the weather was quite warm. We still had fairly short queues (the longest being Kraken at around 15 minutes). There were plenty of new food stalls and extra shade up for what looked to be a corporate fun day. With extra portable lights in the car park, the park appeared to be staying open that night for a private event(still no news on Fright Nights or its replacement). Black Widow has a new sign. The tea cups seem to be getting a permanent covering and new water fountains have been completed. The Buccaneer Battle pool had a new ridge built, which looks to help keep the sand out. The biggest difference we noticed was in the old moat to the castle’s island. It has been completely cleaned out and some repairs have been made to the wall. If they’re think of building a lazy river down there, it would be an extremely cool place to do it.1 point
