RHLR broke down again when I first visited the ride in the morning. Wipeout also broke down but opened shortly after. The screens installed at the front of the park now have an overlay. Trr demolition site is fenced off by two barriers. Sorry the captions aren’t underneath the relevant photo but it’s not working for me right now.3 points

Tractor reef sounds promising, finally something to give Ray Reef a run for its money!3 points

How about Dreamworld just return the steam train to regular service, because they were 1 million times^ more reliable than the shitty diesel that replaced it. There isn’t anything wrong with the train as an attraction, it should be the parks most reliable attraction, it’s just not because ardent management tried to skimp on running costs when in actual fact they had a very good thing running when they were running the steam engines. Here are the options 1 - Throw away or sink the tractor in the river, and run the the Baldwin steam loco that is sitting in the shed wasting away. Meanwhile get the Perry back and spend the money to fix it up and go 100% steam again. 2 - Purchase a new diesel locomotive from a company who’s resume doesn’t involve building bumper cars. There’s many options out there for a reliable steam look diesel powered train. Throw away or dump in the river the Tractor. Run the Baldwin steam locomotive in peak times. 3 - Throw the tractor in the bin (or sink it in the river) and run the Simplex diesel on non peak times and the Baldwin steam loco during peak periods. Note whilst each option is different, they all have 2 common parts to them. The diesel they bought to replace the reliable steam operation was a POS before it even hit the tracks, and now it’s biting them in the backside quite literally. It’s really unacceptable from a guest point of view. I could go on, but let’s be truthful, closing the train should not be an option on anyone’s radar. If it is, they have fucking rocks in their head! Ardent have caused this problem themselves, and now more than ever they need to swollow that bitter pill and admit it was a mistake. ^Calculations are correct Umm you do realise rusty rails aren’t a bad thing right? Otherwise if it was every train trip in the world would be a death trap waiting to happen. The train carriage condition is only cosmetic, nothing a lick of paint or some smart thinking to avoid graffiti cant fix. You really have no idea what you are on about.3 points

I don’t think you compare the electricity needs of AW vs SW. it’s entitely unproportionate. Wouldn’t be surprised if Shark Bay, Polar Bear Shores & the Penguin Exhibit in isolation utilise more power than the whole of AW...3 points

Just thought that this video deserves a watch; (Seriously, ReviewTyme deserves soo much more love and attention... I LOVE their videos ) Enjoy ❤️2 points

These aren't exactly the same angle, but they're close enough. Ardent are slowly turning Dreamworld into a soulless wasteland. These buildings wouldn't look out of place in an industrial park.2 points

Let’s sink it! Create an artificial reef for the turtles and eels.. Im sure if Dreamworld said “we want it back, here’s $XXX” Woodford would have to consider the $XXX value on offer if they really wanted the loco back. But you are right, there’s heaps of reliable diesel options, including steam outline look available that would be cheaper to maintain and run than what is destined to be Dreamworlds newest attraction, tractor reef...2 points

'LOL' The clue here is its coloured yellow. its designed to be seen, which means it isn't planned to be installed into a roof. It's also not a vacuum. The pipe is attached to a box inside the building, with the hose leading outside. They aren't going to be vacuuming inside the building and just blowing it all outside now, are they? What you're seeing is more likely either a portable air filter, or a portable air conditioner, both commonly used during construction for various reasons - however given the area wouldn't be overly hot, nor is it open to the public, its unlikely to be an air conditioner, so you'll likely find its some sort of air filter, being used to make the air more breathable. Considering the plastic sheeting, and the bare plasterboard here at present, its likely they're sheeting, sanding, etc, which generates a lot of dust, and probably under WH&S legislation, it requires air filtration systems.2 points

It seems like a miss now no matter what. Timing is so important in a new attraction and they’ve missed the mark.1 point

A bird shit on the stairs so they decided the cost vs benefit equation didn’t provide a strong enough case to deploy a $12 an hour cleaner with a $2 bucket and $1 sponge for 45 seconds... CLOSE IT DOWN!1 point

I personally don't understand what Dreamworld was thinking at this time...cant believe they actually paid someone to do this.1 point

Passing Time on Facebook does these around Brisbane. John goes and takes the pictures himself, trying his best to get the exact same angles.1 point

@T-bone sink the tractor in the river 😅 I don't think you'll see the Perry heading back, but there are plenty of suitable diesel options. Cane loco's are near indestructible, and can form part of the Australiana part of the park. The grade and curve would be no challenge.1 point

I would assume so, it looks like they just nailed some sheets of plywood on and painted it.1 point

@Brad2912 rusty train rails, train carriages are in bad condition. How about a monorail like the Disneyland one for Dreamworld would be a more valuable option?1 point

@Theme Park Enthusiast why is it time to remove the train? It’s down for scheduled maintenance. Do you have a family member with a disability? Do you have reduced mobility or suffer from respiratory problems? Do you push a pram when at DW? Ever had to chase kids around wherever you go? If you answer no to those, who are you to judge that “it’s easier to walk than catch a train”?1 point

I've had a look at Nearmap. There is no solar within the perimeter of the AW facilities. Theres a 383 panel array on the roof of the Ice rink down the road, and 40 panels on what looks like the main hall at the Perth Waldorf school - but no solar. I'm fairly certain based on conversations here and off-board that the claim is AW has large power generators, not solar farms. While I am aware that AW had upgraded the supply into the park, as its previous supply was inadequate for the new attractions it had installed, and with that i've no doubt they probably brought in a padmount sub or similar, I cannot see anywhere on the park's grounds where they could be housing a generator of the size claimed. I'm quite happy to be shown to be incorrect by evidence, but i'm doubtful of this claim as it stands.1 point

I personally would love a tractor reef. Sounds like a sweet new attraction.0 points

@Brad2912 the train is way past its used by date and it's time for it to go. No need for the extra maintenance costs. I have argued with Dreamworld for a few years about ditching the Tower Of Terror, Wipeout and Hot Wheels Side winder as these are old attractions also that need to go.0 points

It's time for Dreamworld to remove the Train, easier just walking, and don't think it's a amphitheatre anymore...but they obviously do have plans in the area otherwise they wouldn't still be doing excavation.0 points

Dreamworld must be huge, TT2 can power a school for the day for each trip it takes0 points

That makes it easier. They can't try rolling away from the Bawd Brothers anymore0 points

My guess is that it will be replaced by a Godzilla vs. Kong exhibition once filming wraps up, about 6 months from now.0 points

Has anyone considered that the train is in maintenance because it's the actual train that needs maintenance and not the tracks?0 points
