Someone I know has a managerial position at the park and they confirmed people were selected to ride sv. It was also the first people to ride it meaning other people who have claimed to have been on it were lying... who could’ve guessed?

Can confirm there was a guy named Dave at the park as well, and he was someone’s uncle.

I'm currently on the GC for a family holiday and headed to Dreamworld today, I couldn't believe how quiet it was. We got there around 10:30/11 and we're able to park close to the entrance. Having 3 young kids we headed straight to the ABC/ Wiggles area and everything was walk on except the Big Red Car which was a 15 minute wait. The tiger show at 12 was busy with the entire amphitheatre being full. After that we headed to the DreamWorks are and again everything was walk on. My 7 year old son lived Escape Madagascar and was able to have a heap of rides. Overall we had a great day but I can see that they are trying really hard with the park but they aren't spending the money needed. This is my 1500th post. Did some research and it provided to be very hard to find. The slides were from a defunct water park, which closed in Brazil in around 2006. Couldn’t find when the slides originally opened, but I’d guess they would be up to 20 years old. I’m sure someone on these forums will have a greater knowledge about this

I would definitely say that person is sat down, and if they aren’t, the log would have stopped as it was about to arrive at the unload station

Okay, without offending any SW fans allow me to explain some points. Ross, the GM, had mentioned that they had to use their back up power once during this season when the local grid had issues. We’ve been watching these substations, or whatever they are, expand throughout the park these last ten years. The five rides was a reference to a particular area of the park that has nowhere near 5 rides now (needless to say we weren’t fishing for info on AW’s power supply). Where once they couldn’t expand until they fixed their power problems, now they are ready for future expansion. It seems like a miss now no matter what. Timing is so important in a new attraction and they’ve missed the mark.

How about Dreamworld just return the steam train to regular service, because they were 1 million times^ more reliable than the shitty diesel that replaced it. There isn’t anything wrong with the train as an attraction, it should be the parks most reliable attraction, it’s just not because ardent management tried to skimp on running costs when in actual fact they had a very good thing running when they were running the steam engines. Here are the options 1 - Throw away or sink the tractor in the river, and run the the Baldwin steam loco that is sitting in the shed wasting away. Meanwhile get the Perry back and spend the money to fix it up and go 100% steam again. 2 - Purchase a new diesel locomotive from a company who’s resume doesn’t involve building bumper cars. There’s many options out there for a reliable steam look diesel powered train. Throw away or dump in the river the Tractor. Run the Baldwin steam locomotive in peak times. 3 - Throw the tractor in the bin (or sink it in the river) and run the Simplex diesel on non peak times and the Baldwin steam loco during peak periods. Note whilst each option is different, they all have 2 common parts to them. The diesel they bought to replace the reliable steam operation was a POS before it even hit the tracks, and now it’s biting them in the backside quite literally. It’s really unacceptable from a guest point of view. I could go on, but let’s be truthful, closing the train should not be an option on anyone’s radar. If it is, they have fucking rocks in their head! Ardent have caused this problem themselves, and now more than ever they need to swollow that bitter pill and admit it was a mistake. ^Calculations are correct Umm you do realise rusty rails aren’t a bad thing right? Otherwise if it was every train trip in the world would be a death trap waiting to happen. The train carriage condition is only cosmetic, nothing a lick of paint or some smart thinking to avoid graffiti cant fix. You really have no idea what you are on about.

Contrast to that i was at wet n wild GC today and it was packed I waited 1hr and 35mins for tornado and 40mins for surfrider for the rest of the day I just hung around in the wave pool which was also super crowded and the lazy river. They really do need to add new slides to help with capacity especially after the closure of Mach5 I do not think it is hard they have so many options like a water coaster or a bowl and they aren’t that expensive compared to dry park rides.

Im sure if Dreamworld said “we want it back, here’s $XXX” Woodford would have to consider the $XXX value on offer if they really wanted the loco back. But you are right, there’s heaps of reliable diesel options, including steam outline look available that would be cheaper to maintain and run than what is destined to be Dreamworlds newest attraction, tractor reef...

@Brad2912 rusty train rails, train carriages are in bad condition. How about a monorail like the Disneyland one for Dreamworld would be a more valuable option?

It's time for Dreamworld to remove the Train, easier just walking, and don't think it's a amphitheatre anymore...but they obviously do have plans in the area otherwise they wouldn't still be doing excavation.

Today I was at my church and helped cleaning out our vacation care room. While we were going through old files we found a box with paperwork all the back from 1995-2000. As we went through I found these wonderland tickets I asked if I could take them and here they are.

The rumour out there is they won't be DEMOLISHing it , will be a refubishment with new boats, control system and new ride name.

@Brad2912 the train is way past its used by date and it's time for it to go. No need for the extra maintenance costs. I have argued with Dreamworld for a few years about ditching the Tower Of Terror, Wipeout and Hot Wheels Side winder as these are old attractions also that need to go.
