Here's my 45 cents. Dreamworld is in a shit position. Much of it is their own making, they HAD to offer something these holidays, or their attendance and revenue would just continue to plummet. Cosentino is at least better than However - School Holidays are big bonanza times for the parks (with Easter being second to Christmas). If VRTP are going with the strategy of ...Then that is just not good enough. It doesn't have to be anything stupendous - it just has to be something new, to give regular visitors a reason to visit - a reason to come back to the park, and spend more money. A new character appearance. A special parade. A special street show. A dress up day with prizes for best costume (although have rules around professional cosplayers, and just offer Merch as prizes instead of large quantities of cash). I remember Wonderland did a treasure hunt one holiday, where you had to take your treasure map around the park and get it stamped at various places, and if you got all of the stamps you got a little gift pack. Some of these suggestions cost a bit more than others. Some helps to cycle older merch the park would like to refresh. There's a little advertising budget involved here, but anything is better than "Woophoric" - team up with the courier mail and put a sunday paper lift out with the treasure map... I don't even work for a park and i've come up with several ideas, some of which can still be achieved in time for the start of holidays... so it isn't too late for MW to pick something up, but its disappointing that Cosentino - which is a big announcement for a holiday attraction - has gone unanswered by VRTP. (And yes, I acknowledge that in their current position, they probably dont need to answer it - but for the reasons stated above - they still should.)2 points

You'd have to be an idiot to want to invest in the short-term. The plus-side from where I sit on seeing a management team and board so hellbent on bringing the park to its knees to justify a real-estate sell-off is knowing that they have likely started their run too early, and as a result have made life even more difficult for themselves. Go figure - a pack of corporate vandals who can't even manage a basic asset sale. Woe to anyone who would hire any of them going forward.2 points

Rides missing their opening date (or their return from maintenance date being pushed back) just seems to be par for the Australian course...1 point

In theory yes, but in practice - building certifiers that do a lot of work for the same organisation sometimes tick and flick things, or overlook things intentionally to save money, and assume authorities won't check it. I've seen this occur. I'm not suggesting DW has done this... but it can happen.1 point

DW never put the fire out. The best firewalls in the world will eventually fail if the fire keeps burning.1 point

It may also well be that Dreamworld's spec for the build was defective, and the contractors delivered exactly what was spec'd.1 point

The Tumbler was iconic and easily recognisable to the general public due to the popularity of the Dark Knight trilogy, albeit getting on in years. The new one is from a comic book I think? Even the announcement barely raised a blip on this forum. By entertainment value for me a one off show would be more interesting than a swapped out parade float that I don’t recognise. Also don’t get me started on the MOVIE World batmobile not looking anything like the one in the most recent MOVIES.1 point

Wow. It really makes you wonder what did they do with all that money they got to upgrade that ride I know some of that went to actually upgrading it but did some of it went to pay off one of them right employees drugs debts as well? I agree with you there and I hope there’s better stuff.com. But after spending $1 million you would expect the final product to look a little better even if they are working on it. Yes it is and it’s more accurate to the movie with love or hate the movie that’s a improvement. And one of the only good things in that ride so far is scrappy just like the movie ironically, but there are other good things about it to, But I’m just saying that compare to the original ride this is a major downgrade to a lot of people. Basically Warner Bros. just did what Disney did with the tiki room we were expecting something better but now we got the tiki room under new management basically for the Scooby Doo ride. A major downgrade from the original that only has one or two good things going for it. But still makes people missed the original more1 point

Matt Hollywood? May as well watch paint dry, its more magic than him. This is Ardents version of "capital light", and good on them if it works this time, but nothing beats having rides open in a theme park, or heck new rides and attractions to experience, something Ardent have forgotten.1 point

I was told that the reason there's no fog is that it was found the correct filters for the projection gear hadn't been specified/ordered, so therefore it's running without it until that stuff eventually arrives and is signed-off. I rode the ride a few days ago and honestly... what a mess. The projection in the lift is out of sync front vs side and it's just way too close. It also makes not a lick of sense. The AR-projection earlier in the ride was frozen on a still from a much earlier ride and there was a Windows 7 error message projected on the wall to the right of it. Several of the set elements in the dark ride section are unlit. The lasers in the dark ride section are on but ineffective without aforementioned fog. All-in-all we were left scratching our heads at how something like this could happen, given shortly afterward we rode Arkham with VR. How can a park that is capable of something of the standard of Arkham VR also produce something like Scooby 2.0?1 point

Ha!!! I must have just missed you. I drove past there at 10:00pm on Saturday night for a quick looksee- my pics are dark sorry!! @19Michael96 is completely correct- the back drop has not been changed at all and all this will probably not change for the opening next Saturday. We can live in hope however. This was taken after the park had closed but with all lights still on due to a function being present. The park certainly does look excellent at night and is well presented with a calvacade of lights! This is where LPS and LPM come into their own- their night time riding experiences which is currently unique in the Australian theme park landscape. Love this about both parks. What appeared to be new ( or maybe I have not noticed them before!! ) is these very well presented new electronic signposting. These serve as information points for the park and also as advertising for upcoming events. The screens are not static as the maps shows rides moving etc. Nice touch by the park and it certainly brings some modern touches and also some classiness to the park and its overall presentation. Small touches but very welcome, especially for a park of the size of LPS. LPM please take note. The teaser video for Volare has hit Youtube and although simplistic, does an effective job of building the hype before the official launch of the ride next Saturday!! I will be unable to attend , but does anyone else have plans to go down next weekend?1 point

Umm did you not see what they offered last holidays.. - Aquaman Exhibition (World Exclusive) -New Batmobile (also World Exclusive) - New character, Cyborg - Some what of a Scooby Doo refurbishment. Not to forget the annual White Christmas event. Dreamworld.... - so I think Movie World doesn’t need to do something til June/July Holidays.0 points
