  2. Well at least we now know why they removed 2 of the Aqualoop slides on the left hand side of that tower. Makes perfect sense. Good option. Will try and visit in Summer to check it out!!

  4. You would need to see the movie yourself to know that there is far more to it than a Posessed doll.

  5. The doll wasn’t the only thing in it, it also introduced a lot of other demons that are in human forms so it would be easy to do

  6. We who live in the Gold Coast are incredibly lucky. We have numerous theme parks, including 2 major waterparks, and they're open all year round. It's not until you live somewhere that doesn't have these advantages (pretty much anywhere else in the world) that you fully appreciate how good we have it here! The very last thing I would want is for any other company to take over Wet & Wild gold coast. Thankfully, that's probably very unlikely to happen!

  7. I think that this is a positive step in the right direction. As AlexB has pointed out, this lets Parques Reunidos clear the slate on the previous era of Wet and Wild Sydney and start anew. They can now forge their own identity and their own path with the park. It is interesting , though, to note that Parques Reunidos is still up for sale. What effect this will have on the property at Sydney or their other international parks is up in the air. However, its also positive to see that they are announcing a new slide for the upcoming season, which is something that the park has needed for a couple of years now. Time will tell what their strategy is in bring people back to the park, but lets hope that they resolve the issues that Village experienced with their operations. Maybe a little overly pessimistic mate? I would like to see how the park performs under the new owners before predicting the end of the world, although I get how you could think that this could happen.

  8. This discussion has been done to death on many topics across our parks over the years. The simple fact is that the globe doesn't hold many people, the event is open for limited time and limited hours. In the generation of Instagram and selfies, everyone wants the 'coolest' pic to place on social media. Without an attendant you could be standing there waiting for the same group of teens trying for the 'perfect' photo from every conceivable angle for 15+ minutes, leaving many angry patrons who don't get a chance for a photo. And you've got to pay the staff member, so the idea should be self supporting and funding. Anyone who has ever tried to take a photo of the 'BRISBANE' sign at Southbank will know just how long you can end up waiting for a 'clean' shot of it - I bet you if they charged an admission fee, it would lower the demand considerably.

  9. As the only major water park in the sydney metro area, i don't think they'll need to market it too heavily. As for the name - I would suggest VRTP owns the rights to WnW in Aus, and probably wouldn't want them leveraging the name - it also prevents confusion for people who hold passes to "wet n wild". WNWS has had its share of bad media - from the New Years Party disaster just after opening, to paid parking, outside food issues, and poor queue management, among others - a new name indicates a change, and may encourage locals to give it another go. The challenge for them is to make significant changes to their operations fast so that those giving them another chance can see that 'under new management' actually means something positive.

  10. In terms of characters roaming you need to be there between 6:30-7:30. This is when I noticed all the characters flooding Main Street. Definitely loads of entertainment from 6:30, however it is all on the northern end of Main Street.

  11. After seeing the new Annabelle Comes home movie I think it would be a great choice for one of the new mazes at fright nights this year, it would be completely different to anything they have done before

  13. As much as so many of you hate AA, the ride is still actually a prominent favourite for many of it's Riders. Without question MW will replace AA someday - that's surely inevitable as the Park grows. But it's not one that will happen any time soon as there's plenty more work to do elsewhere, most of you already know that 😏

  17. Agreed! Although I still find AA pretty immersive, even if not Disney standard. Less than 6 months till Boxing Day!
