  1. First POV from soft opening of Jurassic World at Universal Studios Looks great, the original JP ride was on of my favourites, but looking forward to giving this is a crack next year

  2. Absolutely not. This is 100% DW's fault.

  3. I visited the park today for the first time since Shaun was introduced. And I was very impressed with how it was all intergrated into the park and I love all the figures throughout the park

  4. People will obviously want to blame DW but the changes have the regulations have changed during that rides construction. Same here for Aussie World. These changes have occurred at a time that is unfortunate for the parks. Due to the transition in the regulations. Rivals did not have to go through this new process. It was lucky. But SeaWorld's new ride line up will go through it. In fact, any new rides in the future in QLD will go through these processes, unfortunately.

  5. I think you've seen it all before because every year even the 'new mazes' are just the same scares, tech, concept with a new overlay. The Overseas parks are really pushing the envelope now and evolving the product where as Movie Worlds product has kind of stagnated.

  6. This. With every other property on the coast getting some love in one form or another (including Paradise Country), Wet N Wild Gold Coast is the elephant in the room that everyone at VRTP is hoping so desperately that we'll just ignore. The park is literally littered with failed previous attempts at investment - Mach 5 tower still stands rusting. WnW Buggy is abandoned (at least the beach volleyball court looked like it was available to use if you came prepared) The Flying Fox sticks out like a sore thumb Whirlpool Springs is a shadow of what it once was - no reason was ever given by the park for keeping it in Winter mode year-round. Black Hole - assuming a similar age to Mach 5 and Sidewinders continues without a shade sail, indicative that it's been abandoned, and will likely succumb as soon as it is deemed too expensive to continue running. Even Dive In Movies - the screen still sits atop the wave pool, gently rusting away. This would be something that could be reinstated very quickly with the acquisition of a new projector... or better yet with the modern technology for daylight LED screens, perhaps they could install a big screen they could use during the day as well - and show an afternoon \ early evening dive in movie before the usual sunset timeslot, meaning the park could open longer in summer, but not as long as they used to? Start the screening at 4:30pm, so the film is done by 6:30 for those with little kids, with the park closed by 7? WhiteWater Mountain and Constrictor sit atop an old tower (that reeks of piss) at the top of a hill whose path is too steep to walk, and divided between the two attractions, which should have been overhauled when constrictor was built. There is so much land in the Extreme H2O zone that it's such a missed opportunity to build an entirely new 'precinct' out there with the latest and greatest technology. its a blank canvas, and yet, we continue to pretend Wet N Wild doesn't exist. Everyone laughed at Dreamworld announcing a new 'shaded seating area' - but wet n wild has so much shaded seating - some with a cost (cabanas everywhere) and others not (marquees with picnic tables and BBQ facilities). There are so many of them the park has actually removed some marquees that simply don't get used, leaving a concrete slab filled with picnic tables out in the sun. Whoops. this didn't start out as a rant, but god dammit I wish they'd do something with this park, and after this many years of neglect - a single slide isn't going to cut it - they need a whole new area with several slides, and they need it now.

  7. I think this is beside the 'upgrades' booth where they sell outback tickets and such. That's the reason why its in the corner... and it has been there a while, although the rides list is new. I don't think its possible for them to have live attraction wait times on there with the current set up - its kind of just a slideshow, but it wouldn't be hard to integrate a live wait time system - the only issue then is because it is where it is, it wouldn't be very useful. The park has had wait time boards in the past, and clearly technology exists in other parks. I'd like to see them do something like that, simply because the parks attractions are so spread out.
