  1. My last visit to Wet 'n' Wild made me think that the current state of the park is the result of a bunch of quick/rushed decisions. Caribbean buildings and leafy green gardens sit at odds with plain concrete pathways and Generic Pool Fence™. A-Frames were put up advising guests to wear shoes, instead of actually providing a solution to the issue. The corpse of the Zip-Line, the Buggy, and the Mach 5 are all clearly visible. I remember growing up when Wet 'n' Wild was THE water park to visit. After my last visit, I am certain that is no longer the case. The park, like most on the GC, need a masterplan. The failures of the past aren't covered up but left for every paying guest to see. Don't know about you, but I don't think that's a good look for any business.

  3. I don't know about that. I often while driving pass will pull in and have a quick ride of Rivals and leave. It’s a great way of making a bad day good.😀

  4. Parkz is always gunning to be the most complete resource when it comes to Australian parks. To that end, we need photo submissions of the following new attractions. Please, when submitting them, make sure they are good quality level photos, no wierd filters or lenses please. Anything taken with a decent smartphone or camera is fine, but please crop/rotate/fix them first, we cant. Upload photos via the respective link on the attraction page Avoid uploading directly from a smartphone because the site sometimes gets the rotation metadata wrong so they come in sideways. If you do a save as on your computer (with whatever you use to adjust photos) that seems to fix it. We need the following: WnW Sydney Whirlwind. Dreamworld Sky Voyager Fully 6 Maze/ Outback splash. Gold Rush/Blackout/Wall/Wedgie Aussie World SX360 Luna Park Sydney Volare Movie World Studio Showcase Adventure Park Tsunami Gumbuya World Red Belly Racer Tiger Snake Tango The Break Wave pool Rebel Funfields Wave Pool Pegasus sky Bounce Dragons Revenge (In Fact funfields has a few gaps, so we could do with anything for this place)

  5. Attention to detail by their marketing team leaves a little to be desired...

  8. I disagree with that. The amount of people (and young ones at that) that refer to the Cyclone as the Thunderbolt, thinking it’s the same coaster have some idea that the Thunderbolt was a thing. Im not on board with them naming the new coaster the Thunderbolt, but just thought I’d throw my 2 bobs worth in.

  9. So was Eureka but look what happened when old mate Craig thought it was a still operational. Everyone instantly forgot how much of a pile of shit it was and got clouded by their golden years (I had it work it in somewhere). I agree it would be a bad idea to call it Thunderbolt but I can see where people are coming from. Just hold a contest so we can name it Rolley McCoasterFace already

  10. F&*K nostalgia. This is the first time in DW history (yes even Longhurst days) DW will finally get a truly solid coaster.

  11. Rehatching the Thunderbolt name is a dumb idea. For people who never rode it – It was a bad coaster. For people who did ride it – It was a bad coaster. We don’t need to relive what a bad coaster it was.

  13. Not related to anything, but the S-bend and helix are the best bits of the ride. Got bored reading and wanted to chime in something

  14. I wasn’t being scientific, I was generalising. but I don’t Believe I would be far off. no one born post 2000 would have a single solitary idea about Thunderbolt unless they stumbled upon this forum on a boring school holiday and decided to ask dumb questions. Same rule applies to interstate and overseas visitors. Unless you are a theme park tragic, or grew up on the GC (which, let’s face it, is literally about 2% of the Current population as we are now nearly all Mexicans up here) then you don’t know that DW once had a coaster named thunderbolt.

  15. Hissteria is a stupid name, and shouldn’t be used anywhere that is predominantly marketed. The name of a dessert with lolly snakes at the ice creamery would be as far as I would go with such a name I’m not. I don’t think there is a need to live in the past. It’s holding onto nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake when 98% of park attendees would have zero idea of the relevance or ties to the name.

  16. Aren't all old Arrow loopers known to be rough as shit? In all honesty though, I'd take Sidewinder over Viper any day. Put Viper in the bin along with your shoulders and spine after riding it. The OTSRs being so rigid really don't help either.

  17. For a park that only has around 10 big rides it does a terrible job spreading them out with maintenance. Does it really take a month as well, it’s cost cutting at its finest

  18. What if they rename it wipeout... it would fit better into ocean parade and pay respects to wipeout🤔
